Dear Friends of Israel,
Illinois stands ready to be the first state to pass legislation (SB 1761) prohibiting a state agency from doing business with any business that boycotts Israel. After being behind 10:1 last evening, proponents are now moving ahead of the opponents. Let’s work together to make this bill happen.

STEP ONE 1: Call or email your state legislators and tell them to VOTE YES FOR SENATE BILL 1761!
Illinois stands ready to be the first state to pass legislation (SB 1761) prohibiting a state agency from doing business with any business that boycotts Israel. The measure requires each of the state-funded retirement systems to make its best efforts to “identify all companies that boycott Israel in which it has direct or indirect holdings and, under certain circumstances, to divest itself of holdings in those companies.” It is expected to be up for a vote this week.
To find your representative, go to FIND MY STATE LEGISLATORS Call and tell your representative to vote yes and vote against bias and prejudice. As citizens of Illinois, we’ll be proud to have our state lead the nation in saying “no” to demonization, double standards and delegitimization!
STEP 2: Show that you are really serious. Fill in a witness slip for the committee. It takes less than 2 minutes and you do not need to go to Springfield. Check “Proponent”. If you’re not filling this out as a company or organization, enter “self” under Firm or Title. Check “Record of Appearance”. Please do this by 10am Wednesday when the witness slips are set to be reviewed. If you’re reading this after 10am, please still fill in a slip anyway for the record.
