Sissi’s Egypt-Israel peace comments wrongly translated, says presidential official

An Egyptian presidential official announced on Monday that the Associated Press did not accurately translate President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi’s statement in his interview with the news service on Saturday regarding expanding the Israeli-Egyptian peace to other Arab countries, Egypt’s al-Ahram reported on Monday. Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef told Egyptian reporters in New York that “when the Egyptian president spoke about relations between Arab countries and Israel, he stressed that would not happen except after a solution to the Palestinian issue and a declaration of a Palestinian state according to the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital,” according to al-Ahram.
