I want to thank all of you who take the time to comment on my postings. Some of you make recommendations on articles that you think are a good fit and this has been really helpful to me, especially given the huge number of sources producing interesting content. A special thank you to my core group who email me daily. They will go unnamed in respect of their privacy but also because I’m bound to leave someone out.

My main goal in this blog is to educate and provide information and a perspective that you may not be finding in the mainstream. Media influences us in many ways but most concerning to me is how it drives public opinion on Israel and the Middle East.

I’m an unapologetic Zionist. I believe that Jews have no less a right to sovereignty and self-determination in their historical homeland than other groups of people. As sensible as I believe that is, there are many who see matters differently. Some see Israel as an historical error that needs to be corrected. Or they see its “right-wing government” as something that needs to be tamed by its benefactor, the United States. And we’ve all heard from “lifelong Zionists” who need to rescue Israel from itself.

Some of the articles I receive are not a good fit for this blog. I’m not comfortable promoting certain criticisms (especially the lectures on how Israel isn’t trying hard enough), not when that messaging is already available in so many other corners of the internet, most distressingly from ostensibly pro-Israel Jewish organizations. I believe Israel’s destiny should be forged by Israelis, not by American (or European) armchair observers.

On a totally different subject…I’ve been posting articles six times weekly since beginning this blog in April 2014 but going forward I’m modifying the schedule to give both you and me more time to distill all this news. Instead of 6x per week, the new schedule is 4x per week: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Thanks again for your continued support.
