Michael Doran served as Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the State Department, was a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, and the Senior Director for the Near East and North Africa at the White House where he coordinated national strategies on Middle East issues, including Arab-Israeli relations and efforts to contain Iran and Syria. He is finishing a book on Eisenhower and the Middle East. He tweets @Doranimated
