As Netanyahu arrives, White House plugs Obama’s Israel bona fides

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed in the US, and thousands of pro-Israel activists in town readied to go to bat for greater Congressional oversight on any Iran deal, the White House asserted it bona fides, publishing a blog post plugging President Barack Obama’s positive record toward the Jewish State. A blog-post titled “five key facts you need to know about the US-Israel relationship under President [Barack] Obama” sent around by the White House Sunday evening touted Obama’s credentials as a supporter to Israel, and also emphasized that the United States has had a long history of support with Israel. The post comes after a week of intense back-and-forth between Israel and Washington over Netanyahu’s Tuesday speech before both houses of Congress, and as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual policy conference got under way.
