A Sermon of Hate in the District of Columbia

You wouldn’t expect conspiracy theories about Jews and their control of world events to be promoted in a church today. But that is exactly what was preached last month in Washington.

….But then the Reverend began to speak about his visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories. There, he said, he met the “Israeli occupation forces” at Ben-Gurion airport, visited the “apartheid wall,” and marched in Ramallah with a Palestinian “sister” who helped him understand “who really controls Congress” and “who really can tell the president what to do.” Such rhetoric seemed more suited to a hate rally than a small African-American church in the nation’s capital. But it electrified Rev. Brown’s audience, which had gathered there for a very specific purpose: They were attending a spring program by Sabeel DC Metro, which sought to persuade African-American Christians and churches to join a crusade against the State of Israel.
