Soldier murdered by terrorist 12 years after uncle dies in attack

Ever since he was six years old, Ziv Mizrahi lived under the shadow of terrorism. His late uncle, Alon, was murdered in a terrorist attack at Cafe Hillel in Jerusalem in 2003. When it came time for Ziv to join the IDF, his parents refused to allow him to join a combat unit, for fear of losing another family member. But on Monday, tragedy struck and [18-year old] Ziv was murdered by a terrorist at a terror-weary gas station on Route 443, a main highway that links Jerusalem with the Tel Aviv area. The incident happened at around 3 p.m. A Central Command military vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle, and the drivers, one of whom was Mizrahi, ducked into the gas station to exchange information. Suddenly a Palestinian terrorist emerged and stabbed Mizrahi, wounding him critically. The attacker then stabbed the deputy commander of the unit who was also at the site.
