NYPD: Jewish Student Assaulted in Apparent Hate Crime Inside A College

A 24-year-old Jewish man a student at the Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn was assaulted Wednesday evening inside the college. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime, NYPD officials told JP. The assault took place at around 7:40 p.m. The Student was standing in a hallway inside the college’s Academic Building at 1638 Bedford Avenue chatting with three other students when a black male bumped into him from behind. When the Jewish student turned around the suspect punched him in the head and face, and stomach. When the Jewish student asked the suspect why did you hit me?, the suspect replied because “I don’t like White and Jewish Boys, Leave the school you Jew”. READ MORE

This attack occurred the same week a Hassidic Jew was assaulted in the lobby of a New York City office building as security guards and witnesses stood by.
