Drone infiltrates Israeli border with Syria, interception fails

Israel on Sunday fired missiles towards an unmanned drone that entered Israeli airspace from Syria, the IDF said in a statement. “Two Patriot air defense missiles were fired towards a drone that infiltrated Israeli airspace in the central Golan Heights. The drone returned to Syria,” the statement said. Both Patriot missiles failed to intercept the drone, with shrapnel from one of them landing in Kibbutz Ayelet Hashahar and lightly wounding a 14-year-old girl…Fighter jets were also reportedly sent to shoot down the drone with an air-to-air missile, but also failed to hit the target.
