Wife of top Putin aide sparks ire for Holocaust-themed ice show

The wife of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman has sparked a wave of controversy for performing a Holocaust-themed ice skating routine on the Russian TV reality show “Dancing on Ice.” Tatiana Navka, an Olympic champion ice dancer and the wife of Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s chief spokesman, and her dancing partner, actor Andrey Burkovsky, appeared on the state-owned television program wearing striped concentration camp prisoner uniforms with yellow Stars of David attached to them. The pair performed their routine to the song “Beautiful That Way,” by Israeli singer Achinoam “Noa” Nini, which was featured in the Oscar-winning 1997 Italian film “Life is Beautiful.” READ MORE
