US, Israel exit UN cultural agency, claiming bias

The United States and Israel officially quit the U.N.’s educational, scientific and cultural agency at the stroke of midnight, the culmination of a process triggered more than a year ago amid concerns that the organization fosters anti-Israel bias. The withdrawal is mainly procedural yet serves a new blow to UNESCO, co-founded by the U.S. after World War II to foster peace. FOX NEWS Nikki Haley slams UNESCO as ‘corrupt and politically biased’ as US, Israel officially quit UN agency Nikki Haley, the exiting U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, issued a harsh assessment of UNESCO on Tuesday, one day after the United States and Israel officially quit the U.N. agency, alleging an anti-Israel bias. “UNESCO is among the most corrupt and politically biased UN agencies,” Haley wrote in a Twitter message. “Today the U.S. withdrawal from this cesspool became official.”
