…According to an Israeli journalist, one member of UNWRA’s staff held an Israeli hostage in his attic where the hostage was starved. UNRWA dismissed this claim as unsubstantiated, said it “may amount to misinformation” and asked the journalist to delete the post immediately in which the claim was made. The journalist has stuck by the story. The NGO Human Rights Watch (HRW), which enjoys a symbiotic relationship with the UN, obsessively demonises Israel. It took two days for HRW to issue a statement on the Hamas pogrom, which it framed as a justified reaction to Israeli oppression. After the war started in Gaza, it repeated the familiar tropes with which it has falsely defamed Israel and accused it of “deliberate indiscriminate or disproportionate attacks” in Gaza, the precise opposite of what was actually happening. JNS Jerusalem: ‘No UN chief has done more to secure the survival of a terrorist organization’ Israel’s government sharply criticized UN chief António Guterres on Monday, with a Prime Minister’s Office spokesman telling the press, “I don’t think any U.N. secretary-general in history has gone so far to secure the survival of a terrorist organization.”On Dec. 8, Israel thanked the U.S. for vetoing the proposed UN resolution, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying, “I greatly appreciate the correct stance that the U.S. has taken in the U.N. Security Council.” Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan also expressed appreciation to the U.S. for “standing firmly by our side and showing its leadership and values.
