World Central Kitchen fires 62 Gazan workers accused by Israel of terror ties

A US-based charity, the World Central Kitchen, fired dozens of Palestinians working for the charity in the Gaza Strip, three workers told Reuters after Israel said at least 62 staff were linked to terror groups. In a message to staff, WCK confirmed that it had “made changes” after Israel demanded an investigation into its hiring practices in Gaza…An Israeli security official told Reuters that Israel had demanded an investigation into staff potentially linked to the Hamas-led massacre on southern on October 7, 2023, after it said a WCK employee identified as Ahed Azmi Qdeih took part in the onslaught, in which some 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage. JNS World Central Kitchen fires one in eight Gaza staffers over alleged terror ties The World Central Kitchen NGO dismissed 62 of its local staff members in the Gaza Strip—more than 10% of its workforce—after Israel said they had links to terrorist groups. The dismissals came a week after the Israeli Air Force killed terrorist Ahed Azmi Qadi, who participated in the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre. Qadi was employed by WCK, but was driving an unmarked vehicle at the time of the strike and was not on a designated aid route.
