63% of Israelis support pardon for Hebron shooter Elor Azaria

Two days after Pvt. Elor Azaria, who was convicted of manslaughter in January for shooting and killing an incapacitated Palestinian terrorist in Hebron last year, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, an Israel Hayom poll reveals that 63% of the public favors a pardon for him. The poll, conducted in conjunction with the New Wave Research Institute, showed that 63% of Israelis wanted Azaria to be pardoned, 24% opposed any reduction to his sentence, and 13% said they did not know. A presidential pardon is one possibly way of commuting Azaria’s sentence. READ MORE
