Number of civilians killed in Gaza ‘inflated to vilify Israel’
Patrick Sawer
December 14, 2024

The number of civilians killed in the Gaza conflict has been inflated to portray Israel as deliberately targeting innocent people, a report claims. Researchers accuse the Gaza ministry of health of overstating casualty data by including natural deaths, failing to differentiate between civilian and combat casualties and over-reporting the numbers of women and children killed. The study by the Henry Jackson Society, a think tank, claims the figures have been manipulated by the Hamas-run authorities in Gaza for propaganda purposes, with international media outlets happy to repeat them uncritically. IDF estimates it has destroyed 70-80 percent of the former Assad regime’s strategic military capabilities

IDF attacks have permanently changed the face of Syrian military threat
Yonah Jeremy Bob
December 12, 2024

The Israeli air force’s more than 500 attacks on Syria’s military assets in a 48-hour period this week since the fall of the Assad regime, have permanently and radically altered the threat that any future Syrian regime can pose to the State of Israel, the IDF said on Thursday. This means that in the worst-case scenario, if Syria’s new rulers, the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), decide to be hostile to Israel, they will not be able to immediately threaten the Jewish state with anywhere near the kind of advanced and long-range weaponry which the Assad regime wielded. Unveiling a slew of staggering statistics, the IDF noted that it destroyed over 90% of Syria’s advanced anti-aircraft missiles, especially the SA22 and SA17 systems, which were sometimes shooting down portions of Israeli attacks on the smuggling of Iranian weapons through the area. ISRAEL HAYOM (by agreement with JNS) Israel seized Syrian side of Mount Hermon The Saudi outlet al-Hadath quoted a security official claiming Israel has captured the Syrian part of Mount Hermon, the strategic mountain overlooking the Golan Heights, the Galilee, and the Damascus area. This is the first time Israel has been on that part of the mountain since the 1974 Disengagement of Forces agreement, which was signed after the Yom Kippur War. According to reports, soldiers from Sayeret Shaldag, the Israeli Air Force’s elite commando unit, were responsible for the capture of the Syrian side of Mount Hermon. READ MORE

Hamas agrees to yield to two of Israel’s ‘key’ demands in ceasefire deal
Staff
December 12, 2024

Hamas has agreed to yield to two of Israel’s “key demands” for a ceasefire deal in Gaza, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, confirming a previous Jerusalem Post report, citing Arab mediators. In July, the Post reported that Hamas dropped two of its demands, including a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelphi Corridor. According to the WSJ report, Hamas told the mediators for the first time that it would agree to a deal allowing the IDF to remain in Gaza temporarily during the pause in fighting. It also added that Hamas handed over a list of hostages that included US citizens. The listed hostages would then reportedly be released under a “ceasefire pact.” READ MORE

FDD Hamas Yields on Key Israeli Demands, Hostage Deal Hopes Renewed “Hamas conceding that it is willing to allow Israel to keep troops in Gaza after the fighting is over is a positive sign toward a ceasefire deal. Moreover, reports that Palestinian Islamic Jihad chief Ziad al-Nakhala went to Cairo to discuss the ceasefire adds to the optimism that Israel and Palestinian terrorist groups will succeed in working out a deal. Despite the progress, a crucial question remains: Who will rule the Gaza Strip after the fighting?”

“Syrians are free from Assad in spite of the Biden administration, not because of it”

FREE PRESS
Assad’s Fall Has Humiliated Washington
Eli Lake
December 9, 2024

According to President Joe Biden, the end of Bashar al-Assad’s tyranny in Syria was made possible by his administration’s foreign policy. Speaking from the White House on Sunday in a televised address, he said, “For years the main backers of Assad have been Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia, but over the last week their support collapsed, all three of them, because all three of them are far weaker today than they were when I took office.” Try not to laugh…This isn’t just a deceptive telling of recent history. Biden has it backward. While it’s true that Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia are weaker today than they were when Biden was inaugurated as president, it’s not because Biden had the foresight to unleash the Jewish state against America’s enemies in the Middle East. It’s because Israel defied Biden’s efforts to restrain it. READ MORE

FDD Clifford May: Assad exits and Khamenei’s strategy unravels Mr. Assad has reportedly fled to Moscow. You’ll note he did not choose to relocate to Tehran, where his wife, Asma, might have had to drape herself in a burqa…The defeat of the dynastic Syrian dictator, responsible for the slaughter of half a million of his countrymen and the displacement of millions more, deserves celebration, as does the cracking of Mr. Khamenei’s imperialist, settler-colonialist project. But in our world, there are no permanent victories. Remember the excitement over the Arab Spring? And who did not think that, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia would have decent governments?

The Biden-Harris administration waived sanctions on Iran three days after the November election, providing Tehran access upward of $10 billion in once-frozen funds, according to a copy of the non-public order transmitted to Congress and reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. Secretary of State Antony Blinken determined on November 8 that “it is in the national security interest of the United States” to waive mandatory economic sanctions that bar Iraq from transferring upward of $10 billion to Iran in electricity import payments…In one case, the administration signed off on the sanctions relief one month after [the Iran-financed] Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel. Two California boys shot at Christian school in revenge for Gaza ‘genocide’

December 6, 2024

Two kindergarten-age boys were shot at a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian school in California on Wednesday by a man with a lengthy criminal and mental health history claiming to be taking revenge of American involvement with a supposed Gaza “genocide” and attacks on Yemen, according to a Thursday Butte County Sherriff’s office briefing. Roman Mendez, 6, and Elias Wolford, 5, were in critical but stable condition following the attack on the Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo by gunman Glenn Litton.  The 56-year-old assailant, who was found at the school by first responders with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound, had left a statement justifying the shooting as revenge for the ongoing Israeli military operation against Hamas in Gaza and operations to counter Ansar Allah’s maritime terrorism and missile attacks.
