“…You do not have any longer, on the part of universities, a commitment to strengthening the teaching of American civilization, of the Constitution, of American history, of the arguments that formed American life and thinking. The university said, okay, affirmative action. We’re going to take in these people, and so you build African-American studies and you build Asian-American studies and female studies and gender studies and environmental studies and every kind of thing, but all at the expense of what the university had.
