Secretary of State Antony Blinken determined on November 8 that “it is in the national security interest of the United States” to waive mandatory economic sanctions that bar Iraq from transferring upward of $10 billion to Iran in electricity import payments…In one case, the administration signed off on the sanctions relief one month after [the Iran-financed] Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel. While the position holds the rank of an ambassador, it does not require Senate confirmation. Trump, in a post on Truth Social, credited Boehler as a lead negotiator on the Abraham Accords team, the 2020 agreement that established diplomatic relations between Israel, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates…Boehler took part in negotiations with the Taliban, with the first Trump administration inking a deal with the designated terrorist group that halted all attacks against U.S. troops in Afghanistan in exchange for a commitment to exit the country. Two kindergarten-age boys were shot at a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian school in California on Wednesday by a man with a lengthy criminal and mental health history claiming to be taking revenge of American involvement with a supposed Gaza “genocide” and attacks on Yemen, according to a Thursday Butte County Sherriff’s office briefing. Roman Mendez, 6, and Elias Wolford, 5, were in critical but stable condition following the attack on the Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo by gunman Glenn Litton.  The 56-year-old assailant, who was found at the school by first responders with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound, had left a statement justifying the shooting as revenge for the ongoing Israeli military operation against Hamas in Gaza and operations to counter Ansar Allah’s maritime terrorism and missile attacks. Led by StandWithUs’s data and analytics department, the Journal of General Internal Medicine study published Wednesday found that 39.2% of Jewish medical professionals, mostly physicians, reported “direct exposure” to antisemitism in their professional or academic settings, with 26.4% feeling unsafe due to the prevalence of antisemitic incidents.

For example, Hamas’ “Flood of Al-Aqsa” plan, which was well known within Shin Bet, did not receive proper attention. Additionally, agents working for Shin Bet in the strip communicated with their handlers during the night of Oct. 7 but either misled them or simply didn’t know about Hamas’ attack plans. Investigations also reveal that Shin Bet’s Southern District was unaware of the Nova Music Festival, which took place right along the Gaza border. Another interesting finding in the investigations concerns the timing of Hamas’ decision to launch the surprise attack.
