Israel expects Hamas to free three hostages Saturday, asks for more living captives

February 13, 2025

Israeli officials expect Hamas to deliver on Friday a list of three hostages to be released on Saturday, an Israeli official told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday. Qatari Prime Minister Al-Thani is expected to send the list to Mossad chief David Barnea. The release that is expected during the weekend follows Hamas’ threat earlier this week to withhold the hostages unless Israel fulfills its humanitarian obligations. Hamas claims that Israel has not allowed all the agreed-upon humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip as stipulated in the agreement. On Thursday, Hamas stated that Israel had agreed to allow pre-fabricated housing and heavy equipment for rubble removal into Gaza. However, Prime Minister’s spokesperson Omer Dostri dismissed these reports as “fake news” in a post on X. READ MORE

JNS Fiamma Nirenstein: From Auschwitz to Gaza: The unfolding horror and its implications The event was a grotesque spectacle. The hostages, under the gaze of masked Hamas militants and Al Jazeera’s cameras, were made to listen to a speech before being forced to speak themselves. Eli Sharabi learned from his captors that his older brother, Yossi, also a hostage, had been murdered in captivity. Upon his return to Israel, he learned that his wife and two daughters were murdered in their home in Be’eri on Oct. 7, 2023. Ohad Ben Ami, whose mother lamented that he now looked like an 80-year-old man, was reunited with his wife, Raz, who had been kidnapped alongside him and was released in November 2023. Or Levy, who had been covered in his wife’s blood at the Nova music festival, where she was murdered—returned to his 3-year-old son, the only surviving member of his immediate family.

Supreme Court to hear case on Palestinian Authority’s ‘martyr’ payments
Marc Rod
February 10, 2025

The Supreme Court is set to hear a case in the coming months to decide whether American victims of Palestinian terror attacks can sue the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian Authority for damages based on support for such attacks through the “pay for slay” program that compensates individuals who have carried out attacks as well as their families. The Supreme Court cases — Fuld v. Palestine Liberation Organization and United States v. Palestine Liberation Organization, which the court will hear jointly — pertain to a decades-long series of litigation efforts by American terror victims and their families to sue the PLO and PA. In one case in 2015, a lower court awarded a group of victims more than $650 million. READ MORE

Why USAID is a national security threat

FRONT PAGE MAG
USAID Sent Over $18 Billion to Islamic Terror States
Daniel Greenfield
February 7, 2025

USAID boasted of having sent $2.1 billion to Gaza and the West Bank since the Hamas attacks of Oct 7. In 2024 alone, $917 million was programmed for the terrorist areas occupying Israel…USAID allocated $1.1 billion to spend on Lebanon even as the country was run byHezbollah …USAID has sent $9.3 billion to Islamic terror states collectively responsible for killing over 3,000 American soldiers. Not only did Islamic terrorist states and groups kill us, but in the ultimate obscenity, we have rewarded them with millions of dollars for each of our murdered soldiers. READ MORE

NEW YORK POST Mark Dubowitz and Ben Cohen: USAID was rotten, but Trump needs the ‘soft power’ of foreign aid done right. Perhaps the best illustration of how USAID has misused its funding is found in the Middle East. In 2024, as the region reeled from the aftermath of the bestial atrocities committed by Hamas in Israel the previous year, the United States significantly boosted its financial support for projects in Gaza and the West Bank, spending more than $200 million of American taxpayers’ money in territories already rife with terrorist incitement and activity.

FREE BEACON At USAID, Funding for Terror-Tied Groups and Internal Hostility Toward Israel Goes Back Years In November 2022, for instance, USAID awarded $100,000 to a Palestinian activist group whose leaders hailed the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a designated terror group. Just six days before Hamas’s Oct. 7 assault on Israel, USAID handed $900,000 “to a terror charity in Gaza involved with the son of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.”…A February report from the Middle East Forum think tank found that USAID had awarded “millions of federal dollars” to “organizations directly in Gaza controlled by Hamas.” In one Biden-era case, USAID funded an “educational and community center in Gaza” controlled by a local group called the Unlimited Friends Association.

Makofsky: “No More Talk: It’s Time to Destroy Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program”

Israel and the Emerging Trends in Syria

February 4, 2025

…The Turkish orientation towards the leadership of [Syrian leader] al-Julani, leader of the rebels, warrants great concern. President Erdoğan has never hid his ambition to renew the Ottoman Empire. The prospect of an occupation of Damascus by Sunni Muslim forces has an exciting power that could reunify radical Islamic forces to the point of reestablishing an al-Qaeda state in Syria. The third purpose of the IDF’s operations in the region is to focus on these concerns. Meanwhile, under Erdoğan’s leadership, the Kurdish region east of the Euphrates River is under threat of a military attack meant to eliminate it. This will test the ability of the American administration to stand up for its Kurdish allies. READ MORE

JINSA No More Talk: It’s Time to Destroy Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program But there have also been positive changes since Trump was last in the White House that make preventing a nuclear Iran much more feasible than perhaps any time before. Iran’s nuclear program now lies exposed and effectively unprotected thanks to Israel crushing Hamas, degrading Hezbollah and its rocket arsenal, demolishing Syria’s heavy weaponry, and wrecking Iran’s most capable air defense systems. Meanwhile, Israel’s defenses have held strong against repeated Iranian missile attacks, bolstered by American anti-missile batteries.

Dozens of secondary media outlets which use AP content published the wire service’s significant correction, clarifying that the terrorist was convicted for intentional manslaughter and incitement, not simply affiliation with Hamas…AP editors agreed with CAMERA that a correction of the misinformation was in order, and commendably amended the passage to accurately report that “Imad Abu Aliya, was freed Saturday after serving four and a half years for a conviction of intentional manslaughter and anti-Israel incitement…” READ MORE

It turns out the video is AI-generated, though some argue that doesn’t make its message any less important or powerful. “For those who can’t tell, this video is AI generated, but it’s still amazing,” writer and entrepreneur Ed Krassenstein wrote after sharing the black and white video with his 1 million X followers on Tuesday. “The world needs to see this,” he said. The video shows celebrities including Sacha Baron Cohen, Drake, Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Jerry Seinfeld, Steven Spielberg, Ben Stiller and Mark Zuckerberg wearing the same white T-shirt featuring the back of a hand with a Jewish star on it, a middle finger raised. The Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas and other Palestinians on October 7 could have been released a long time ago had the Biden administration exerted pressure on Qatar to use its good relations with the Islamist group to force it to do so. All Qatar had to do was to summon the Hamas leaders in Doha and give them an ultimatum to release all the hostages immediately or face deportation from the Gulf state. It is hard to see how the Hamas leaders would have been able to say no to their major political and financial patrons and backers…. The Qataris were never under the slightest pressure. READ MORE

An elite $46,000-a-year private school has come under fire for alleged rampant bullying and anti-Semitism and parents are now demanding change or else, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively. The Latin School of Chicago is a K-12 institution with a history of privileged graduates such as Nancy Reagan and the children of Illinois billionaire Governor J.B. Pritzker. But the parents, after staying silent as problems spiraled out of control, say the bullying and anti-Semitism their children face has intensified to the point that they have hired a high-powered lawyer to force the ‘vanity board’ of trustees to act.
