President Donald Trump signed an executive order on February 4 that withdraws the United States from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and prevents funding from going to UNRWA, the UN’s [perpetual] agency for the descendants of Palestinian refugees…The Trump administration previously withdrew from the UNHRC in 2018 because of the council’s anti-Israel bias and failure “to prevent the world’s worst human rights abusers from gaining … membership.” The Biden administration rejoined the council as a full member in 2022. JNS Trump sanctions Hague court over Israel probe President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court on Thursday over its investigation of Israel for alleged “war crimes” in Gaza and its decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The order includes a declaration of a national emergency to respond to what it describes as the court’s “unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.”
