NYC 7th-grader’s beating and antisemitic attack was so bad his family moved states

A Staten Island boy was beaten in a schoolyard by kids who spewed antisemitic hate — and school officials did nothing to stop the abuse, his family said in a lawsuit. The Jewish student went out for recess at Egbert Intermediate School in Midland Beach on Oct. 25, 2023, when he was chased by a gang of kids, pushed to the ground, while screaming ‘F–k Israel! It’s all your fault!,” his mom said. The beatdown of the 4-foot-8, 85-pound boy came two weeks after the Hamas massacre of 1,200 innoncent Israelis…The boy told a teacher, who reported it to the assistant principal and principal, but “school employees did not seek medical attention” for him or immediately inform his mom, she claimed. Father of Hersh Goldberg-Polin rides through grief with Alyn hospital

October 23, 2024

There is so much sorrow around in these parts these days. And there is no end in sight, as more and more of our young – and older – men and women, not to mention thousands of Palestinian men, women, and children, pay the price of the violence all around us. Many of us look on with alarm, if not mounting despair and a sense of hopelessness. But for the likes of Jon Polin, the events of October 7 and their grim aftermath cast the darkest shadow imaginable. Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months, the name Hersh Goldberg-Polin will ring an instant shrill clarion call. Hersh was the 23-year-old son of Chicago-born and -bred Jon and his wife, Rachel Goldberg. READ MORE

TIMES OF ISRAEL Six slain hostages were likely Sinwar’s shields, lived for months on energy bars The six Israeli hostages murdered in a Rafah tunnel at the end of August were likely human shields for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and survived for months on energy bars until they were finally executed, too weak to be moved with the terror chief, a TV report said on Saturday. The Channel 12 investigation shed light on why Sinwar, long believed to have surrounded himself with a group of hostages as human shields, left the tunnels of Rafah, and was without any captives around him when he was killed by the IDF on Wednesday.

Kamala Harris to Receive Lowest Share of Jewish Vote for a Democrat Since 1988

US Vice President Kamala Harris is leading former US President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race among Jewish voters by a margin of 67 percent to 31 percent, according to a new Manhattan Institute poll. Such an outcome among Jewish voters would represent the highest vote share for a Republican candidate — and the lowest for a Democratic candidate — since 1988, when Michael Dukakis ran against George H.W. Bush and received 64 percent of the Jewish vote. While Jews have long been one of the most supportive groups of the Democratic Party, there are also divisions by denomination. Orthodox Jews prefer Trump by a 59-41 margin, while Reform Jews prefer Harris by a 75-22 margin, according to the data. READ MORE

JNS Harris genocide accusation ‘shocking,’ says former Israeli ambassador Former Israeli ambassador to the United States Michael Oren on Sunday called for the White House to state unequivocally that Jerusalem is not committing genocide in Gaza, after Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to equivocate on the issue. The Democratic nominee for president appeared to suggest at a campaign event in Milwaukee that the Jewish state was committing genocide, in an incident involving an anti-Israel heckler.

The images and testimonies that emerged from Hamas’ October 7th attacks bear a chilling resemblance to the 1929 massacre in Hebron, one of the world’s most ancient Jewish communities

…Ninety-five years ago, 3,000 Muslim men marched through the Jewish Quarter of Hebron: burial place of Abraham, forefather of the Jewish and Arab nations. Enflamed by a campaign of disinformation launched by the British-appointed Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, the mob went from house to house, stabbing, torturing, raping, and in some cases castrating and burning their Jewish neighbors. Over the course of two hours that morning, nearly 70 unarmed Jewish men, women and children were slaughtered. “The horror of it is beyond words,” wrote John Chancellor, the British High Commissioner of Palestine, in his diary on October 8th, 1929, after visiting Hebron, where the walls and floors of Jewish homes were still stained with blood. “I do not think history records many worse horrors in the last few hundred years.” READ MORE

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed by the IDF in Tel Sultan in Rafah on Wednesday in an unplanned operation, sources close to the matter confirmed to The Jerusalem Post Thursday evening, several hours after rumors arose that he had been killed earlier Thursday. Shortly after, around 7:45 p.m., confirmations came out from the IDF, Shin Bet, Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz, and others, that Sinwar was in fact dead. Evidence that Sinwar is dead included matching both his dental records and fingerprint records which Israel had from the period when he was in Israeli prisons until 2011. READ MORE

TIMES OF ISRAEL IDF recovered Sinwar’s DNA in tunnel complex where 6 hostages were executed The IDF found Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s DNA some weeks ago in a Rafah tunnel which was in the same complex as — but a few hundred meters from — a separate tunnel where six Israeli hostages were murdered in late August.

YNET Sinwar hid in Rafah tunnel alongside six hostages executed by Hamas Hamas leader reportedly hid in same tunnel as hostages Hirsch Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Ori Danino, Almog Sarusi, Carmel Gat and Alex Lobanov before they were killed by captors in August; IDF investigating whether hostages murdered during Sinwar’s escape.

JNS President Biden’s statement on the death of Yahya Sinwar “Early this morning, Israeli authorities informed my national security team that a mission they conducted in Gaza likely killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. DNA tests have now confirmed that Sinwar is dead. This is a good day for Israel, for the United States, and for the world.”

TIMES OF ISRAEL Netanyahu in English statement: ‘War can end tomorrow’ if Hamas lays down arms, returns hostages In an English-language statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar “the beginning of the end” of the war in Gaza. “To the people of Gaza, I have a simple message,” he continues. “This war can end tomorrow. It can end if Hamas lays down its arms and returns our hostages.”

Glick: “The Biden administration’s determination to see Hamas survive and so win the war is driven by its top officials’ desire to “balance Israel” with Iran”

Netanyahu’s ‘day after’ plan

…As for Lebanon, far from supporting Israel’s efforts to devastate Hezbollah, Iran’s largest and most deadly terror army, the [Biden-Harris] administration has spent the past year trying to block Israel from going on the offense against Hezbollah. Although Biden was publicly supportive of Israel’s decapitation of Hezbollah’s leadership, including Hassan Nasrallah, the administration was reportedly enraged that Israel assassinated Nasrallah. On Oct. 10, Harris repeated, yet again, that the administration seeks an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation in both Lebanon and Gaza. The implication, again, is that Harris and Biden want to protect Hezbollah—like Hamas—from defeat because they seek to revert to the Oct. 6, 2023, strategic balance which left Iran in place as a rising regional hegemon just a few steps from a nuclear arsenal. “We American Jews experienced an intelligence meltdown in the wake of the massacre—our failure to predict the eruption of hostility after Oct. 7th”

JEWISH JOURNAL
The American Jewish Community’s Grand Intelligence Failure
David Bernstein
October 5, 2024

…Just a few weeks after the massacre in Israel, Politico reported that mostly women IDF soldiers stationed on tatzpitaniyot or look-out posts warned that Hamas training camps were likely preparing for an attack against Israel. “A month and a half before the war, we saw that in one of the Hamas training camps they had built an exact, scaled model of an observer’s position, like the one we operate. They started training there with drones to hit the [machine gun] shooter,” a female soldier said. Their warnings went largely unheeded because the intelligence community had embraced a “Conceptzia”: a widely held conception that Hamas was adapting to the duties of governance and had no incentive to confront Israel. Of course, the Oct. 7th Conceptzia turned out to be illusory, the outgrowth of groupthink that filtered out any contradictory evidence, one that ultimately rendered Israelis along the border sitting ducks. Samidoun, which promotes anti-Israel sentiment on elite campuses, linked to major terrorist group by US and Canada

U.S. and Canada Label Terror Fundraiser a ‘Sham Charity’

October 15, 2024

Since the October 7 massacre, a small “charity” based in Canada has been ubiquitous on elite college campuses, celebrating the bloodbath at public rallies and seminars. The group is called Samidoun, and it claims to be an NGO advocating on behalf of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. On Tuesday, the U.S. and Canadian governments put an end to that charade. Samidoun is not a charity at all. Rather, it’s a group “that serves as an international fundraiser for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization,” according to a press release issued Tuesday by the Treasury Department. The government describes it as a “sham.” READ MORE
