“Indeed, ‘The Message’ may well be the most beautifully crafted blood libel ever published.”

Israel: The racist protocols of Ta-Nehisi Coates
David Harsanyi
October 1, 2024

Ta-Nehisi Coates begins the Israeli-Palestinian section of his new bookThe Message, with a visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum in Jerusalem. The excursion, taken on the last day of his 10-day junket to the Palestine Festival of Literature, isn’t meant to elicit sympathy for the Jewish people or offer context about the founding of Israel. Rather, it is a literary device used to accuse the Israelis of becoming the thing they most revile. You see the irony, of course. It’s like unfurling one of those Israeli flags with a swastika painted on it — but in swirling prose. Indeed, The Message may well be the most beautifully crafted blood libel ever published. Each turn of phrase oozes with a loathing of the Jewish state. As with his previous work, history is a poetic truth in which white people are innately and inexorably evil — the Jew perhaps most of all. READ MORE

Things Worth Remembering: Mr. Biden, This Is How You Defend Israel

September 29, 2024

For the last week, hordes of diplomats have been wining and dining their way around Manhattan, where they have been quartered for the United Nations General Assembly. Anyone familiar with this annual circus could be forgiven for tuning out. So it might have escaped your notice that multiple UN grandees have availed themselves of this illustrious opportunity to demonize the world’s sole Jewish state. Israel is battling Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, two terrorist groups that will not rest until they have obliterated a nation America has always counted among its closest allies. And yet, this week, very few Americans seemed to bat an eyelid when a self-professed democratic leader—Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan—said, on U.S. soil, on the first day of the General Assembly: “Just as Hitler was stopped by the alliance of humanity 70 years ago, Netanyahu and his murder network must also be stopped by the alliance of humanity.” READ MORE

JPOST Netanyahu’s UN speech and the Hezbollah strike: A turning point for Israel? It transpired that at the time he delivered his speech, Netanyahu was aware of the fact that the Israel Air Force was about to perform a massive attack on Hezbollah headquarters in the Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh – an attack designed to kill Hezbollah’s secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah. The operation had been approved by Netanyahu before he delivered his speech, and he must have had it in his mind when he spoke.

ALGEMEINER Israel Declares UN Secretary-General a Persona Non Grata Israel’s foreign minister said on Wednesday that he was barring U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres from entering the country over his failure to unequivocally condemn Iran’s missile barrage on Israel. Guterres has a long catalogue of dubious statements on Israel’s conflict with its Arab and Muslim neighbors.

Media lies have “helped incite hysteria and violent hatred against both Israel and diaspora Jews, and ramped up pressure on western governments to dump on Israel while giving Hamas an easy ride”

…Now another very comprehensive report, “BBC coverage of the Israel-Hamas war”, has been published on the same issue. This one has been compiled and edited by the BBC’s former director of television, Danny Cohen, and accuses the BBC of making “false and damaging claims about Israel’s conduct of this war” and fuelling “the flames of antisemitism that have spread across the world”. Cohen drew upon research compiled by the excellent Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA)…The vicious media coverage in the west, produced by Hamas and its fellow travellers in the Palestinian cause and consisting of serial falsehoods, malicious distortions and blood libels designed to demonise, delegitimise and destroy Israel, is an absolutely essential weapon in the Hamas armoury. Family of Hersh Goldberg-Polin remembers his legacy at start of Rosh Hashanah

October 2, 2024

The family of slain Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin is remembering his legacy at the start of Rosh Hashanah, as the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel nears. The 23-year-old was wounded and later kidnapped from a music festival near the Israel-Gaza Strip border during the Hamas-led attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. His parents, both Chicago natives, became outspoken advocates for the release of their son and other hostages. Goldberg-Polin’s aunt, Abby Polin, believes the issue should not be seen as a Jewish or Israeli cause, but a human cause.  READ MORE

TIME MAG As the Families of Murdered Hostages, Our Message to People in Power Is Simple: Act On the clear, blue-skied Saturday morning of Oct. 7, 2023, our loved ones and 245 others were brutally stolen from us by Hamas terrorists. Carmel was visiting her parents at Kibbutz Be’eri. Almog, Alexander, Eden, Hersh, and Ori had been celebrating peace and freedom at the Nova Music Festival. These six beautiful people were abducted into Gaza, several of them with critical injuries. They languished in miserable conditions for 328 days, then, on Aug. 29, were shot in the head, hands, shoulders, and elsewhere in their battered and starving bodies. Israeli forces found their emaciated corpses two days later in a tunnel 65 feet under a Gazan child’s bedroom.  READ MORE

Many things occurred on Monday that illustrate how Israel is turning the tide against Hezbollah

Amid International Pressure, Top Israeli Leaders Say ‘There Will Be No Ceasefire’ With Hezbollah
Jack Elbaum
September 26, 2024

Top Israeli leaders have indicated they will not agree to a ceasefire with the Iran-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon amid the international community’s push for one. “There will be no ceasefire in the north,” Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Israel Katz posted on X/Twitter on Thursday. “We will continue to fight against the terrorist organization Hezbollah with all our might until victory and the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took a similar stance after he landed in New York on Thursday to address the UN General Assembly the following day. “Our policy is clear: We continue to hit Hezbollah with all our might,” Netanyahu said in a statement. TIMES OF ISRAEL Israel kills Hezbollah drone chief in Beirut, rockets fly at north as truce rebuffed An airstrike killed a senior Hezbollah leader in a strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Thursday afternoon, the military said, with fighting between Israel and the Iran-backed terror group showing little sign of slowing as an international bid to secure a ceasefire appeared to fall apart. The strike in the Hezbollah stronghold of Dahiyeh targeted the head of Hezbollah’s aerial forces, Mohammed Srur, who is largely responsible for the terror group’s drone fleet along with cruise missiles and aerial defenses.

JPOST Seth J. Frantzman: Calling Nasrallah’s bluff: IDF strikes bring turning point in Israel-Hezbollah war It is likely that Israel’s decision to turn the tables on Hezbollah and call its bluff via massive airstrikes against it this week will be seen as a turning point in the conflict. It is important to understand how these events unfolded, especially since, for many years, an ingrained fear of Hezbollah was built up in Israel. On Monday, the IAF launched airstrikes on more than 1,300 Hezbollah targets. They included numerous waves of airstrikes across southern Lebanon and deeper into Lebanon. Lebanese civilians were called upon to flee areas where Hezbollah is present in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.

GATESTONE Bassam Tawil: Israel’s War Is Against Hezbollah, Not The Lebanese People On September 19, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah promised that his organization’s terrorist attacks on Israel would continue until the war in Gaza ended. Hezbollah, he said, will continue supporting the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip “no matter what the consequences are, what the sacrifices are, what scenarios will unfold.” Nasrallah further threatened that Israelis who have evacuated from their homes will not be allowed to return, implying that Hezbollah might be planning to invade and occupy Israel’s north.

You dared to strike at a wise and courageous people on October 7th—committing genocide, kidnapping their children, and violating their women. You thought they would fall, but they rose again. After 11 months, they returned to correct what briefly slipped—their intelligence. Now, they will send you back 1,000 years, to an era without technology, where a ringing phone feels like a death sentence and a beep is a nightmare. You will be haunted by your own shadow, too afraid to use any technology, cut off from the advanced world. They will defeat you—not with bullets or tanks, but with the unbreakable will of brave and intelligent people. Over a simple cup of coffee, with a decisive click, they will seal your fate and that of anyone who dares to harm their children. This is a nation the world respects.

FUTURE OF JEWISH Joshua Hoffman: Only Israel is forced to negotiate with terrorists. Instead of gratitude, Israelis are often met with condemnation, scrutinized under a microscope of hypocrisy — even though we embody the spirit of defiance against unhinged anti-Western violence.

“No one is above the law,” Kamala Harris says when speaking of her rival, former President Donald Trump. But the Harris-Biden administration is arguing in federal court that lots of people are above the law — in particular, the many UN employees who helped Hamas build its terror facilities and launch its genocidal pogrom on Oct. 7. In June, some victims of the Oct. 7 massacre filed suit in New York, where the United Nations is based, against the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, alleging that UNRWA and its officials have aided and abetted Hamas. Evidence of UNRWA’s wholesale collaboration with the designated terror group is abundant, and goes back years. “Oh, I am sure that there are Hamas members on the UNRWA payroll, and I don’t see that as a crime,” then-UNRWA Commissioner-General Peter Hansen stated in 2004. Harris may love Israel but she doesn’t hate Iran

Last week, at the IAC Conference in DC, former president Donald Trump made two comments that angered many American Jews. The first, let’s be clear, was highly inappropriate. Without him, he said, Israel would be done for in two years. Now, I’m not doubting for one moment that Trump would be better for Israel as a US president than Vice President Kamala Harris, given the control that people like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib exert over the Democratic party. But Israel finished in two years? That definitely wasn’t the wisest thing to say to a people who just 80 years ago experienced one Holocaust. And wasn’t the whole point of Zionism that Jews – even accepting that we need strong allies – defend themselves? That we don’t rely on popes, princes, or even the benevolent presidents to protect us? This past few weeks have been significant for the aviation and tourism sector in Israel, with over twenty airlines canceling flights to Israel amid Iranian threats of retaliation for the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh and the ongoing Israeli-Hezbollah tensions. Which international airlines have canceled flights to Israel, and until when? We’ve organized the information for you in an article that will be updated based on developments and decisions made by the airlines. United Airlines has canceled flights to Israel until further notice. Delta Airlines suspended its flights to Israel until December 31, 2024. American Airlines has canceled flights until March 2025. This means El Al is currently the sole airline operating direct flights between the US and Israel. KLM has announced that it would not fly to Israel until Oct. 26 at the earliest. The Lufthansa Group, which includes Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, has canceled its flights until October 14. READ MORE
