This Lone IDF Soldier Was Assaulted at DePaul and Is Still Speaking Out on Campus

When October 7 happened, IDF reservist and lone soldier Max Long was called up for duty. He was set to go to DePaul University the next month, but he knew he probably wouldn’t make it back in time. He gave up the apartment he had leased in Chicago and served in the IDF’s explosives unit, which dealt with the explosives Hamas left behind in the kibbutzim…The lone soldier returned to campus in the fall of 2024. After seeing the encampments, as well as hearing about students – including Jews wearing custom yarmulkes that said, “Stop the Genocide” – holding a rally for the “martyrs,” the terrorists from October 7, he decided he needed to do something. Before Rosh Hashanah, he gave out apples and honey to his fellow students and set up a table on campus. He put a sign up that said, “Come talk about Israel with an IDF soldier.” At first, it was positive. READ MORE

EYEWITNESS NEWS CHICAGO IDF reservist concerned about safety as DePaul student after hate crime attack Max Long is in Israel to attend services for two of his fallen IDF comrades. He told the ABC7 I-Team he has had to drop a class at DePaul University after a pro-Palestinian group handed out flyers that target him by name. The “Behind Enemy Lines” flyer accuses the IDF soldier and DePaul student of genocide in a written challenge to their ban from campus. Long and another Jewish student, Michael Kaminsky, were attacked in early November by two masked men in what Chicago police have called a hate crime.

“Netanyahu has spread Israel’s protective canopy over the Druze in the area in Syria near the border, called Jabal Druze”

Israel’s shield for Syria’s Druze and the regional shakeup no one expected

…While the Druze inside the 1967 lines are full citizens who fight for the country, those on the Golan – though offered citizenship when Israel annexed the Golan Heights in 1981 – long refused it. They feared that aligning with Israel could endanger their families in Syria or backfire if Israel, as was widely discussed in the late 1990s and early 2000s, withdrew from the Golan in exchange for peace with Damascus. Even before Assad’s fall, however, a shift was under way. Over the past decade, more Golan Druze have begun identifying with Israel. By the end of 2023, about one-fifth of some 27,000 Druze on the Golan had acquired Israeli citizenship. Assad’s downfall has accelerated this trend, and now, even some Druze on the Syrian side of the border are interested in being incorporated into Israel. READ MORE

Ohana: Israeli sovereignty over Judea, Samaria ‘only way’ to peace
Akivsa Van Koningsveld
February 23, 2025

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana on Sunday backed calls for Jerusalem to extend its sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, saying full control over the territory was the “one and only way” to achieve peace in the region. “These biblical, original parts of our land, which in the Bible tells the story of our people, are intended for us, for the people of Israel, need to be in the territory of the State of Israel, under the ownership of Israel, under full Israeli sovereignty,” said Ohana, a lawmaker for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling Likud Party, during a visit to northern Samaria. “Today, this thing is clearer than ever,” he added. ALGEMEINER GOP Lawmakers Urge Trump to Recognize Israeli Sovereignty Over West Bank A group of Republican lawmakers is urging US President Donald Trump to formally recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the West Bank, citing the territory’s historical ties and importance to the Jewish people. Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), one of the most strident pro-Israel voices in Congress, spearheaded a letter to Trump, calling on the president to endorse an Israeli annexation of the West Bank. Other signatories to the letter include Mary Miller (R-IL), Barry Moore (R-AL), Nick LaLota (R-NY), Randy Weber (R-TX), and Andy Harris (R-MD).

“Two Israeli Jews are accomplices to attempted mass murder. Their betrayal of Israel and its people demands the harshest punishment available under the law”

Israel must exact a heavy price for the attempted bombing attacks

February 23, 2025

On Thursday night, Israel narrowly avoided a massacre. Explosives planted on buses in Bat Yam, intended to detonate during the Friday morning rush hour, could have killed or maimed hundreds of innocent civilians. That did not happen – not because of a change in our enemies’ intentions, but due to a technical failure on their part…What makes this incident all the more appalling is the revelation that two Israeli Jews facilitated the terrorists’ actions, driving them to the attack sites…As The Jerusalem Post reported, “The initial assessment from the security establishment is that the plan for the attack came from Iran, and was carried out by Hamas terrorists from the West Bank.”

Senator Fetterman: “Hamas’ hostage transfer ceremony indicative of the level of support the terror group has among the Palestinian people”

JEWISH INSIDER
Fetterman: Palestinian support of Hamas comes with ‘accountability’
Emily Jacobs
February 21, 2025

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) condemned the scenes in Gaza on Thursday, where Hamas paraded the coffins containing what were believed to have been the remains of four Israeli hostages down the streets of Khan Younis to cheers from Palestinian locals…The Pennsylvania senator said Hamas’ hostage transfer ceremony that took place earlier in the day was indicative of the level of support the terror group has among the Palestinian people. Fetterman argued that such support came with “accountability” attached to it. “I think it just really reflects just how much of a lot of the population in Gaza supports Hamas and the kind of terrible things that they do. “Criminals who target people for being Jewish must be stopped—with force, if necessary”

CITY JOURNAL
Why Won’t Cities Like New York Punish Anti-Semitic Rioters?
Hannah E. Meyers
February 21, 2025

…Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a group of “protesters,” their faces wrapped in keffiyeh scarves to mimic Hamas militants, descended on New York’s predominantly Jewish Borough Park neighborhood to scream at Jews. “How many kids did you kill today?,” they chanted—with no sense of irony. This outrage—culminating in a brawl that police had to break up—reflects the growing normalization of masked rioters invading predominantly Jewish spaces to intimidate residents. Like Biblical villains, these agitators thirst for power. Like Hamas, they don’t care if they hurt the innocent, so long as they hurt Jews. The pro-Hamas mob pushed past police barricades and officers and approached nearby Jews, where fighting ensued. READ MORE

IDF says forensic experts can find no match for fourth body handed over by Hamas, slams terror group for ‘very serious violation’ of hostage-ceasefire deal

Remains ID’d of Oded Lifshitz, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, but other body isn’t the boys’ mom Shiri

February 21, 2025

Slain hostages Oded Lifshitz and brothers Ariel and Kfir Bibas were identified after their remains were returned to Israel by Hamas on Thursday, but the military said another body sent by the terror group was not the young boys’ mother Shiri Silberman Bibas. Specialists at Abu Kabir Forensic Institute were not able to identify the fourth body, the Israel Defense Forces announced early Friday morning. The shocking statement came after the return of the remains, in a propaganda-filled ceremony, had already sparked anger and mourning across Israel. Hostages’ families demanded the freeing of all the captives, alive and dead, still held by terror groups in Gaza, and leaders vowed to destroy Hamas. READ MORE

TIMES OF ISRAEL Argentina’s Milei declares 2 days of national mourning for Ariel and Kfir Bibas Argentine President Javier Milei declares two days of national mourning in Argentina for Ariel and Kfir Bibas — who held Argentine citizenship — following the confirmation of their deaths in Hamas captivity. In a post on X, Milei released a statement where he strongly condemns the terror group Hamas. “According to the National Center of Forensic Medicine, the children were brutally assassinated in captivity by Hamas terrorists in November 2023. It is monstrous that these events happen in this century, and that their death is due to a single motivation: to be Jews.”

…Such gleeful cruelty has no parallel in the civilized world. Sure, war is hell, and combat rarely concludes without a handful of shocking aberrations. A soldier may crack and do the unthinkable. A rocket might miss its mark, snuffing out innocent lives. That is all too regrettable, and all but unavoidable. But that is not what is happening in Gaza. The footage of a dead Jewish baby returning home to Israel for burial compels us to tell the truth: The assertion that most, or even many, Gazans are innocents hijacked by their tyrannical leaders is a polite fiction. There are certainly some somewhere in the strip, the very young and the very frail included, who neither partook in nor condone the atrocities of the past 18 months, but they should no more redeem Gaza’s genocidal enterprise than the hypothetical ten good men of Sodom and Gomorrah could the cities of the plain. FUTURE OF JEWISH Our enemy kidnaps babies. And their support grows still. There are losses so cruel, so unbearable, that they defy all sense of reason. The deaths of Shiri Bibas and her two precious sons, Ariel and Kfir, are not just a personal tragedy, not just a moment of grief for their husband and father, Yarden, and those who knew them, or people like us who feel like we knew them; they are a wound in the heart of our people. A wound in Israel. A wound that should be felt by all sensible humans.

History in Washington – A giant step toward sovereignty
February 21, 2025

The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) conference, considered one of the most prominent political events in American politics, opened in Washington on Wednesday night. At one of the conference sessions, a dramatic resolution was passed to support Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria…The CPAC resolution carries considerable weight with respect to American support for the extension of Israeli sovereignty to Judea and Samaria and grants legitimacy to this sovereignty among Trump supporters…Yesha Council Chair Israel Ganz, who has been working with senior CPAC members to help consolidate the resolution, welcomed this important step and thanked US leaders. “Your declaration is akin to the Balfour Declaration. You are granting political validity to biblical values and to justice.” READ MORE

Why Trump Must Insist on Removing Hamas From Power

February 19, 2025

…No Arab country will agree to play any role in the administration of the Gaza Strip as long as Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups continue to maintain an armed presence there. The same applies to the PA, which was expelled from the Gaza Strip by Hamas in 2007. That year, Hamas staged a violent and brutal coup during which dozens of PA loyalists were killed…Similarly, Hamas’s longtime patrons and funders in Qatar will do their utmost to ensure that the terrorist group remains in power.
