…Granny’s remarks make it clear that community policing and the abolition of identity checks aren’t going to calm the rage of the Muslim migrants in France one bit. Their rejection of the French system isn’t due to the alleged injustice or racism of the French police or other authorities; they reject the French system because it is jahiliyya, a society of unbelievers, “the most vile of created beings” (Qur’an 98:6), while the Muslims are the “best of people that has been raised up for mankind” (Qur’an 3:110). What the migrants ultimately want is a society that is based on the laws of IslamREAD MORE

ALGEMEINER ‘It’s Nauseating:’ Director of Documentary on Antisemitic Murder of French Jewish Woman Sarah Halimi Assails Judicial System The director of a documentary broadcast on French television concerning the antisemitic murder in 2017 of Sarah Halimi — a 65-year-old Jewish woman who lived on her own in a public housing project in Paris — has slammed the police and judicial investigation into the killing as “absolutely scandalous, the opposite of what I expect from French justice.”

The malevolent reporting on Israel’s Jenin operation
Melanie Phillips
July 6, 2023

…Other media outlets misrepresented Israel’s response to murderous terrorism as wanton aggression. They did so through systematic decontextualization, having largely ignored the growing toll of Israeli terrorist victims and the attacks that Israeli security forces thwart almost daily. The day after the launch of the IDF operation, a car-ramming and stabbing attack took place in Tel Aviv in which at least nine people were injured and a pregnant woman lost her baby. The usual suspects in the media instantly misrepresented this as an all-too predictable “revenge” attack in a dismal cycle of violence. But there is no “cycle of violence.” There are unending attempts to murder Israelis and there is the Israeli attempt to deter further attacks. READ MORE

Beyond cash: California reparations task force’s report stuffed with goodies
Valerie Richardson
July 11, 2023

Paying cash to descendants of enslaved people is just the beginning of the California Reparations Task Force’s ambitious progressive vision. Embedded in the panel’s 1,100-page report is a veritable leftist to-do list that includes: universal health insurance for Black residents, a guaranteed basic income, free college tuition, “forgivable” interest-free loans to small businesses and erasing interest debt on unpaid child support. That’s not all. The report now before the state Legislature also recommends ending policing of nuisance violations such as public urination…READ MORE

By the end of the year, the reparations committee expects to have paid $25,000 each to 140 qualifying residents in the city of about 75,000, officials also told the Wall Street Journal.

Surge in Palestinian terror is a preview of a two-state ‘solution’
Jonathan Tobin
July 5, 2023

Jenin, which under the “anybody but Bibi” coalition that led Israel for 18 months in 2021 and 2022 had become a mini-Gaza—a no-go zone for both the Palestinian Authority and Israeli forces. The terrorist stronghold is dominated by Hamas and the radical Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and bolstered by funding from their Iranian ally. Unlike Gaza, Israeli ground forces can still move into Jenin. But the Israel Defense Forces’ operation, which by all accounts was a major tactical success leading to the deaths of terrorists and the degrading of their infrastructure, was still much like other periodic efforts undertaken by the military in Gaza to “mow the grass” in that it provided merely temporary relief. JERUSALEM POST Tovah Lazaroff: Five reasons the IDF battle against Palestinian terror in Jenin is never over The IDF might as well have posted a sign at the entryway to Jenin stating “We’ll be back”.  That’s how clear it is that its two-day military campaign in the northern West Bank Palestinian city this week was just one more battle in a prolonged IDF war on terror and not a decisive defeat. “There is no silver bullet here,” former IDF intelligence chief Amos Yadlin told Army Radio, adding that those who think there is such a silver bullet, “don’t understand where we live and the strategic context of the battle on terror.

DAILY MAIL BBC apologises after news anchor Anjana Gadgil says ‘Israeli forces are happy to kill children’ in interview with country’s former prime minister over West Bank raid The BBC has provoked outrage after a news anchor said ‘Israeli forces are happy to kill children’ during a TV interview with the country’s ex-prime minister. Presenter Anjana Gadgil expressed the statement as a matter of fact while interviewing Naftali Bennett, who led the country from 2021 to 2022. Since the segment was broadcast on the BBC News channel, Ms Gadgil appears to have deleted her social media profiles and the BBC has apologised – describing her language as ‘inappropriate’ and ‘not phrased well’.

An Israeli soldier was shot dead by a Palestinian gunman near the West Bank settlement of Kedumim on Thursday afternoon, the military and medics said. The IDF later named the fatality as Staff Sgt. When a civilian security officer and IDF troops arrived at the scene and stopped a car for inspection, its occupant fired at them with a handgun and fled. This is no intifada. It’s a premeditated Iranian regime “pincer” war now executed from the northern Samarian hills

Iran’s Pincer War on Israel Is No Intifada
Dan Diker
June 29, 2023

This is no intifada. It’s a premeditated Iranian regime “pincer” war now executed from the northern Samarian hills. Iran now outflanks Israel on three sides: From Gaza in the south, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) operatives Hamas and PIJ have targeted Israel with tens of thousands of rockets and terror tunnels. From Israel’s northern neighbors Lebanon and Syria, IRGC Quds forces and Hezbollah’s proxy terror army have about 180,000 rockets and laser-guided missiles directed at Israeli cities. Hezbollah has even set up outposts on Israel’s side of the border with Lebanon. Now, the Iranian regime has taken its 44-year-old war to the Samarian hills that overlook Ben Gurion Airport and Israel’s main cities along the Mediterranean coast. READ MORE

There is the looting of an armory in the heart of Marseille, during which numerous pistols were stolen. Not a good sign for the future. And a post office hit by a giant explosion in Lyon. And, in the same city, a hooded man shooting through the houses of the Duchère district with a Kalashnikov. Duchère…Does it say anything, Duchère? Here a few months ago René Hadjadj, a 90-year-old Jew was thrown from the 17th floor of his apartment by a Muslim. In Duchère, the central Christmas tree was set on fire, but the synagogues were already set on fire twenty years ago. READ MORE

Haym Salomon: The Jew that saved the American Revolution

OPENDOR MEDIA
July 4, 2023

Haym Salomon, largely unknown to many, immigrated to the American colonies just before the outbreak of the War of Independence. With his unique business and language talents, he outwitted British forces on several occasions and his contributions were instrumental in securing American victory and laying the foundation for its independence. He also dedicated himself to building and strengthening the Jewish community in the newly formed United States of America, leaving behind a powerful legacy of faith, resilience, and unity.

JEWISH PRESS Jason Stverak: Haym Salomon: Remembering a Founding Father on Independence Day You won’t find the name Haym Salomon in text books in your local elementary school. U.S. History classes at the finest universities rarely utter his name. But without the dedication of this Polish Jewish immigrant to the American Revolution, the Fourth of July would not be celebrated as Independence Day.

The chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee is demanding that the State Department produce more information about the suspension of the U.S. special envoy for Iran’s security clearance. Rep. Michael McCaul, a Texas Republican, said Friday the Biden administration owed Congress a full explanation for the suspension of envoy Rob Malley’s clearance and his being placed on unpaid leave. Malley had led administration efforts to revive the faltering Iran nuclear deal. READ MORE

JNS Congress wants answers on suspension of US Iran envoy Rob Malley The State Department’s failure to inform Congress of the move “demonstrates at best a lack of candor,” says House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman.

CNN Biden’s Iran envoy placed on leave after security clearance suspended amid investigation into possible mishandling of classified material, sources say Earlier this year, two sources said, the State Department ramped up its own investigation into Malley’s handling of classified information, which led to his clearance being suspended within the last two months. It’s not clear what was uncovered that specifically led to Malley’s clearance being suspended.
