Dear Mr. President,

You are about to make a decision for which you will be remembered by history. Your legacy will either be as a world leader who saved, or failed to save, many lives. The decision concerns Iran’s intention to develop a nuclear arsenal. There can be no reasonable doubt that Iran’s mullahs are determined to obtain nuclear weapons, despite their assurances to the contrary. Nor can Israel, which is the intended target of an Iranian bomb, be expected to rely on deterrence or containment. Iran must be prevented from achieving their dangerous goal. Obviously it would be better if the mullahs could be stopped by negotiation rather than military action…Nearly a century ago, the British and French governments faced a similar decision with Germany, and they failed, costing tens of millions of lives. That makes strike two. So much for America’s credibility. As the late renowned Middle East historian Bernard Lewis is credited as having said, “America is harmless as an enemy but treacherous as a friend.”

…The fact that Jew-hatred has found a perch among highly educated doctors and other health professionals runs counter to the conventional explanations for antisemitism. According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and other legacy Jewish organizations, antisemitism is born of ignorance which must be fought through education. As ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt frames the issue, antisemitism intersects with “ignorance and conspiratorial thinking … Ultimately, any strategy for protecting the Jewish community must include education at its core—we can’t fight hate without changing hearts and minds.” Both the past and present put the lie to Greenblatt’s hypothesis. Campus Hamasniks at Columbia and Harvard are radical and morally depraved, but they aren’t uneducated. Some 2,500 documents, photos, and belongings of executed spy Eli Cohen were retrieved from Syria in a special Mossad operation, the Prime Minister’s Office said on Sunday. The trove was recovered due to a secret, complex operation in cooperation with the official Syrian archive, which held thousands of classified items ever since his capture and subsequent execution in Damascus’s al-Marjeh Square in 1965. The items included the keys to his Damascus apartment, forged passports, and photos he took during his espionage, particularly of senior Syrian officials. He also left behind notebooks and diaries that were seized by Syria’s intelligence service. The announcement came 60 years to the day after his execution, with the items presented in the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mossad Director David Barnea, and the widow of the late Eli Cohen, Mrs. Nadia Cohen. On May 13th, Israeli American rapper and activist Kosha Dillz was all set to premiere an unfinished cut of his debut documentary, “Bring the Family Home,” at the Chicago indie arthouse theatre, FACETS. The community screening, co-hosted by the Chicago Jewish Alliance (CJA), focuses on the alarming rise of antisemitism on U.S. college campuses, with a focus on student encampments and tensions at DePaul University and Northwestern University. The “Bring the Family Home” event also had a panel scheduled, with Dillz, Michael Kaminsky, a DePaul University student who had been harassed with anti-Jewish insults on campus after making pro-Israel statements, and Jeremiah Smith (part of Hersh Goldberg-Polin’s family). FEDERALIST DHS Revokes Harvard’s Ability To Enroll Foreign Student The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll all foreign students on Thursday, telling all current foreign students they must transfer schools in order to keep their visas. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem sent a letter to Harvard informing the university that its certification for the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) had been terminated. Noem further told the school that it can no longer enroll foreign students and that all existing foreign students must transfer schools or lose their legal status.
