After the war resumed on March 18, Gazans began voicing their frustration with Hamas on social media, rallying around the hashtag “Hamas, stop the war.”

Palestinians in Gaza Protest Against Hamas Rule
Ahmad Sharawi
March 27, 2025

Hundreds of Palestinians have taken to the streets of Gaza in a rare and direct display of anger against Hamas, blaming the Iran-backed group for plunging the territory into 16 months of devastation and bloodshed. The protests, which are ongoing, erupted in Beit Lahia, where residents marched through the rubble of their town, chanting “Hamas, get out” and “Hamas are terrorists.” The Beit Lahia protest came just hours after Israeli evacuation orders for the town’s residents. Demonstrators held Hamas responsible for the orders, blaming the group for launching rockets from areas near the town toward Israeli communities…These gatherings escalated into full-scale demonstrations, with demonstrators chanting, “The people want to topple Hamas.” READ MORE

Israel creates new military body to encourage ‘voluntary emigration’ from Gaza
Joshua Marks
March 23, 2025

Israel’s Security Cabinet has approved Defence Minister Israel Katz’s proposal to establish a new directorate within the ministry to facilitate the “voluntary emigration” out of the Gaza Strip. The newly formed directorate is tasked with overseeing the “safe and controlled passage of Gaza residents for their voluntary departure,” according to a statement from Katz’s office. This includes managing logistics such as securing movement routes, processing individuals at designated crossings, and coordinating the necessary infrastructure to support travel by land, sea and air. The push for emigration, long favoured by the Israeli far-right, has gained new prominence following US President Trump’s suggestion that Washington would “take over” Gaza and displace its population – whether this would be temporary or permanent was left ambiguous. ‘House of David’ is a beautiful corrective to a lie that’s seeped into American culture: that Christians see Jews as enemies.

Two Christians Made a Show about Jews. It’s Phenomenal.

March 23, 2025

There’s a new show on Amazon right now that gives the most accurate portrayal of how American Christians see the Jewish people that I have seen in a long time. House of David is a biblical drama from brothers Andy and Jon Erwin, a duo of Christian filmmakers from Alabama. It tells the biblical story of King David, author of the book of Psalms, who was a shepherd, musician, and poet before he came to the throne. And it’s freaking phenomenal. There’s much for Jewish audiences to love. Set in Israel in 1000 BC, the series brings the biblical story to life with compelling characters of the sort the Bible excels at; the show is respectful of the source material while also taking some subtle liberties (Agag, king of the Amalekites—the prototype in Jewish tradition for hatred of the Jewish people—is portrayed as a cannibal, for example).  READ MORE

Fetterman: “I refuse to turn my back on Israel,” the senator from Pennsylvania said, adding that many of his fellow Democrats “have lost their way, but I will continue to be that voice in my party”

Fetterman to JNS: I fully support partnering with Israel to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities
March 20, 2025

…Throughout the interview, Fetterman expressed deep disappointment in members of his own party who have distanced themselves from Israel. “My party has, some of them, chosen to back away from supporting Israel,” he said. “I’ve always refused to pander to other factions.” He criticized Democrats who attempt to equivocate on the issue, urging them to “stand with civilization, stand with democracy.” Fetterman went on to suggest that “my party was punished” during the recent elections for failing to be “unapologetically supportive of Israel.” He pointed to Michigan, a state with a strong Muslim community and a progressive, Palestinian-American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib as one of the swing states that voted for Donald Trump. “There is no massacre of Christians happening in Syria. But that lie took hold for a reason—and grasping it is the key to understanding something important about American domestic politics”

March 24, 2025

Many Americans, particularly those who get their information from popular right-wing social media accounts [eg Candace Owens] and podcasters [eg Tucker Carlson], now take it as an article of faith that there are ongoing massacres of Christians in Syria. Syria’s Islamist government, which in December replaced the Assad family regime that had ruled Syria for over five decades, is generally blamed. But more prominently, the massacres are said to be the fault of the United States and Israel, and the “neocons” who allegedly control both governments. In fact, there has been no massacre of Christians in Syria. READ MORE

ISRAEL HAYOM (by agreement with JNS) Inside the hunt: New exclusive footage shows how IDF cornered Sinwar A video obtained by Israel Hayom shows Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza sitting wounded and exhausted on a couch in a house in Rafah, where he was eliminated by IDF forces on October 16, 2024. The video, filmed by soldiers from Battalion 450, is being published here for the first time, alongside an interview in which they describe how they killed the architect of the October 7 attack. The 37-second video was filmed at the end of a pursuit, during which Battalion 450 soldiers captured Sinwar in a building that received the nickname “Red House.”

“The Trump administration should leverage its successful approach to the troubled Ivy League university to fight anti-Semitism and racialism elsewhere”

CITY JOURNAL

March 25, 2025

Last week, the Trump administration won a high-stakes showdown with Columbia University. Following the October 7 terrorist attack against Israel, Columbia has been ground zero for pro-Hamas agitation on America’s campuses. It has seen marches, occupations, vandalism, and violence. In response, the White House threatened to withhold $400 million in public funding unless the university enacted meaningful reforms. The administration’s hardball approach paid off: Columbia has now acceded to virtually all the administration’s demands. The university has banned masked protests, boosted campus security, and established administrative oversight over its radical “post-colonial” academic departments, which have been hotbeds of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel activism. I24NEWS Anti-Israel groups accused of knowing about October 7, acting for Hamas A complaint filed on Monday in a New York federal court accuses several American activist organizations of having prior knowledge of the October 7 attacks and acting as “propaganda arms” for Hamas…”Three minutes before Hamas began its attack on October 7, Columbia SJP posted on Instagram ‘We are back!!’ and announced its first meeting of the semester would be announced and that viewers should ‘Stay tuned,'” the lawsuit said. This followed months of inactivity.

Meanwhile in Highland Park: Kim Stone Should Have Recused Herself

HIGHLAND PARK NEWS
Pavergate
Josh Harris
March 27, 2025

A lot has been said about “Pavergate,” the controversy over Highland Park Council Member Kim Stone’s vote to install permeable pavers on the alley leading to and facing onto her home. As a neighbor whose home of 33 years backs up to the same alley, I objected to the $900,000 expense at the time, even though these beautiful pavers have now improved my own home’s value. As Kim seeks re-election, she is justifying her vote by pointing to the merits of the decision, but that misses the bigger point — that Kim voted when she should have recused herself due to a clear conflict of interest. Since the pavers were permanent improvements that increased the value of her home, she never should have participated in that vote. READ MORE

Freed hostage whose wife and daughters were murdered, exposes Hamas’ use of UN aid while captives starve. “They dragged us to Gaza, my ribs were bruised. When we arrived there, an angry mob tried to lynch me, but the terrorists put me inside a mosque. For them, I was their trophy.”

From paradise to hell: Former hostage’s moving UN speech
March 20, 2025

…”On October 7, my paradise turned into hell,” [Eli] Sharabi began his chilling testimony. “Hamas terrorists invaded the kibbutz, my home, and tore me away from my family. I haven’t seen them since. For 491 days I was held primarily underground in Hamas terror tunnels, bound, starved, beaten, and humiliated. I was a prisoner in darkness, isolated from the world. The monsters enjoyed our suffering.” Sharabi vividly described the moment of his abduction to council members: “On October 7, the door opened. Our dog barked. The terrorists opened fire. Lianne and I threw ourselves on our daughters and shouted at the terrorists to stop. Suddenly there were ten terrorists inside my house. They took my wife and daughters to the kitchen. I couldn’t see them anymore. As they dragged me outside, I called to my daughters: ‘I’ll come back.’ It was the last time I saw them.READ MORE

UK Parliament Group Publishes Major Report to Ensure Oct. 7 Massacre Is ‘Never Forgotten’
David Swindle
March 18, 2025

A group of British lawmakers has released a new and extensive report documenting the atrocities of the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, invasion of southern Israel to establish an irrefutable historical record of the massacre. “The purpose of commissioning our report has been to chronicle the events of Oct. 7 with clarity and meticulous, fact-checking precision, to ensure it is never forgotten,” said Lord Andrew Roberts, a prominent historian who presided over the 318-page study…“The present report…lays down incontrovertible proof — for now and for the years to come — that nearly 1,200 innocent people were indeed murdered by Hamas and its allies, and very often in scenes of sadistic barbarism not seen in world history since the Rape of Nanjing in 1937.” READ MORE

COMMENTARY The Moral Asymmetry Between Israel and Its Enemies A commission of inquiry led by the renowned historian Andrew Roberts has now produced the most comprehensive report on the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas-led attacks. Every kibbutz, town, city, and music festival victimized by thousands of Gazan infiltrators has its own entry in the report. That level of detail, along with the authors’ inclusion of the relevant recent history and background of the conflict, makes it to date the best guide to what we know about the worst terrorist attack in Israel’s history.

As it unfurls, the saga of Mahmoud Khalil—the Columbia agitator picked up by immigration enforcement last week—looks less like a complicated immigration-law dispute and more like something out of a John le Carré novel.

Who Are the Shadowy Figures Defending Mahmoud Khalil?
Liel Leibovitz, Asaf Romirowsky
March 19, 2025

…Similarly, it is troubling that those who argue, against all available evidence, that Mahmoud Khalil is a martyr on the altar of free speech—rather than someone who violated the terms of his residency by advocating for a terror group—enjoy near-universal access to and support from our finest academic institutions, our best-endowed philanthropies, and our best-placed legal or political elites. Telling foreign nationals to refrain from espousing support for a terror group to evade legal trouble exceeds the bounds of advocacy; it approximates aiding and abetting people in skirting our immigration laws. If nothing else, the Khalil case demonstrates yet again that for America’s progressive elites, power, not principle, is the currency that counts, and that the system they’ve designed ensures that their power is preserved in perpetuity, defending even those fellow travelers who work to undermine our national-security interests.
