The real story of Hanukah, not the one you hear at Sunday school: “the battle Judah Maccabee and his boys won was really a civil war against the Jews who turned away from their faith”

‘The Greeks Tried To Kill Us’ And Other Hanukkah Myths Debunked

The Hellenistic Jews were engaged in a battle of identity with the traditional Jews, and enlisted the help of the brutal King Antiochis and his Seleucid Empire to wipe out the “un-enlightened elements” of Jewish religion, particularly acts through which Jew claim to be able to sanctify physicality. Decrees against these elements ensued. The Jews didn’t assimilate into Greek culture like the other peoples. They maintained their identity, religion, and values even amid the strong pull of the Zeitgeist, and were thus a threat to the authority of the Empire as well as an independent moral conscience. AMERICAN THINKER Hanukah: The First Battle against Transnationalism and the Deep State At first, there were the usual military attacks by the Seleucids [Syrian Greeks] against Judea. But that changed. Instead of undertaking costly military campaigns to accomplish this, Antiochus, circa 175 BC, reasoned it would be easier and less conspicuous to bring Judea under heel by simply de-Judaizing it, by forbidding Israel’s core and distinctive religious practices and educating its children in the mores of the hedonistic gymnasium.

Fieldston, “elite New York private school, founded by Jews, is rocked by allegations of systemic anti-Semitism”

Pride and Prejudice at Fieldston
by Sean Cooper
December 18, 2019

On Thursday, Nov. 21, a week before Thanksgiving, 500 high school students settled into their seats in the auditorium of the Fieldston School’s main campus… The invited speaker was Kayum Ahmed, an employee of the Open Society Foundations and adjunct faculty member at Columbia University Law School…As the crowd filtered out of the auditorium, some of the Jewish students present registered the moment with fear and confusion, according to multiple parents and others familiar with the event. In a classroom later that day, one Jewish student shared that Ahmed’s comment [“That Jews who suffered in the Holocaust and established the State of Israel today—they perpetuate violence against Palestinians that’s unthinkable“] was upsetting.  READ MORE

Israel eyes Dubai expo as ‘portal’ to Arab world
December 15, 2019

The Dubai Expo 2020 trade fair will gather nearly 200 countries vying for the attention of a projected 25 million visitors over nearly six months from October. Like most Arab countries, the United Arab Emirates has no diplomatic relations with Israel. But the Jewish state has been quietly moving closer to Gulf Arab countries on the basis of shared security interests and a common enemy — Iran. An Israeli pavilion at an Arab-hosted expo presents a unique opportunity to speed up the “normalisation” of relations and reach out to Arab peoples, officials say. READ MORE

Israel’s Arrest of Palestinian Terrorist Leader Highlights ‘Extensive Overlaps’ Between BDS and Terror Groups
by Sean Savage
December 18, 2019

The announcement on Wednesday by Israel’s Shin Bet security agency that it has arrested some 50 members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) capped off a months-long targeting of the terror group for its role in the deadly terror attack on Aug. 23 that killed an Israeli teenager hiking with her father and brother…The arrests coincidently provide evidence of further links between the PFLP and the BDS movement. Among those arrested by the Shin Bet include Khalida Jarrar, 56, who the Israeli security service noted was the head of the terror group’s operations in the West Bank. Until recently, Jarrar also served as the vice chairpersondirector and board member of the BDS organization Addameer. READ MORE

Evangelical Leader: If Jesus Were on Earth Today, He Would be Banned from Bethlehem for Being Jewish
by Emily Jones
December 19, 2019

…While the Bible clearly states Jesus was a Jew living in Judea, some believe he was in fact Palestinian. The Palestinian Authority held a Christmas celebration earlier this month in Birzeit, north of Ramallah, during which Jesus  was praised as a “Palestinian guerilla fighter.” “Christmas is a Palestinian national holiday, and Jesus was a Palestinian guerrilla fighter, standing against injustice, calling on the citizens living in Birzeit to support their town,” PA Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh told attendees of the celebration…Laurie Cardoza-Moore, an evangelical leader and founder of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations (PJTN), believes the idea that Jesus was Palestinian is not only wrong, but anti-Semitic. by Rachel Wolf
December 17, 2019

Lihi Aharon, an Israeli woman, was verbally and physically attacked recently by an apparently Muslim woman in a New York City subway car. It is suspected that the attacker is Muslim because she repeats the Arabic phrase “Allahu Akbar” (God is great) and references the Koran. After the attack, Aharon recorded a video of herself and has a noticeable scratch on her face that she says is from the incident…Aharon says the woman told the Jewish man that last week’s shooting attack at Jersey City’s JC Kosher Supermarket was “great.” READ MORE

‘Jew coup’: The anti-Semitic conspiracy theories surrounding Trump’s impeachment
by Eric Cortellessa
December 19, 2019

…But to far-right anti-Semitic extremists, there’s been something else entirely driving the president’s woes: a cabal of powerful Jews determined to oust him from office. Last month, the founder of TruNews, a fundamentalist Christian platform that regularly publishes anti-Semitic and racist videos, raged against a “Jew coup” to impeach Trump. Many of the officials involved in the impeachment inquiry — such as California Congressman Adam Schiff, New York Congressman Jerry Nadler, and witness to the probe Trump’s US Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, among others — are Jewish. After Anti-Semitic Killings, Jersey City School Official Called Jews ‘Brutes’
by Ed Shanahan
Dec. 17, 2019

Jersey City’s mayor called on Tuesday for a school board member to resign over a Facebook post in which she called Jews who had moved to the city “brutes” and suggested a deeper “message” to the deadly attack at a kosher market there last week. The mayor, Steven Fulop, was reacting to remarks posted online over the weekend by the board member, Joan Terrell-Paige, who is black. In her post, she questioned the outpouring of fellowship and support for Jersey City’s Jewish residents in the wake of the Dec. 10 attack. READ MORE
