“Russia aside, it is clear that Israel is determined to continue undermining Iranian efforts to entrench itself militarily in Syria and transfer game-changing weapons to Hezbollah”

Israel won’t tolerate an Iranian presence in Syria
by Yaakov Amidror
April 10, 2018

Russia’s decision to reveal that it was the Israeli Air Force that struck the T4 air base in Syria’s Homs province early Monday morning came as somewhat of a surprise. One has to wonder what pushed Moscow to do so, as it ostensibly has no interest in fueling tensions between Israel and Syria. Moreover, while ambiguity allows Syrian President Bashar Assad to contain the situation and save face, this type of revelation paints Assad—and his Iranian patrons—into a corner from which they would have to mount a potentially harsh response. by Jessica Halfin
April 10, 2018

Most Israelis have their favorite local family-style restaurant for Arab cuisine where they go to indulge in a spread of meze salads of fresh or roasted vegetables, charred eggplant, hummus, tahini, lafa bread and grilled meats. This is not that list. The following are Arab restaurants that are changing the culinary scene in Israel. From gourmet chef restaurants to fabulous destination locations, these establishments (not kosher) make their food with love and care, and of course the fresh seasonal products of the local terroir and Mediterranean waters. Hey campers, Who wants to learn about The Occupation?

LEGAL INSURRECTION
Group plans to infiltrate Jewish summer camps to turn campers against Israel
by Miriam Elman
April 8, 2018

In one of its boldest moves, IfNotNow [sister to Jewish Voice for Peace] is planning to train camp counselors to “teach” campers at Jewish summer camps about the Israeli “occupation.” Given IfNotNow’s politics, described below, the teaching without a doubt will be anti-Israel. Parents who are sending their children to Jewish summer camps, motivated in part by establishing their children’s connection to Israel, will be undermined without knowing it and probably without the camp administration’s knowledge. As always, #NYT edits the Gaza story to fit their narrative

ALGEMEINER
What The New York Times Isn’t Telling You About Israel’s Gaza ‘Blockade’
by Ira Stoll
April 9, 2018

Nearly every New York Times dispatch about the recent violent pre-planned riots in Gaza has used the word “blockade” to describe Israel’s treatment of the territory… Accusing Israel of a “blockade” of Gaza when in fact Israel is allowing food, medicine, building supplies, electricity, and water into the territory is inaccurate. It gives Times readers a false impression of what is actually happening, uncritically echoing Palestinian propaganda. READ MORE

CAMERA BLOG MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Presents Hamas Propaganda as Fact In a completely biased report slamming Israel for allegedly “pick[ing] off” unarmed demonstrators, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes discards any semblance of journalistic professionalism and embraces Hamas propaganda.

ARUTZ SHEVA The world goes for Israel’s throat If the 30.000 Palestinians were allowed to cross those borders, instead of dead terrorists, we would have had dead Israelis. Would the world be more satisfied?

Iceland: “European secularists and progressives are staging a two-pronged legislative attack on circumcision and religious slaughter — fundamental customs of Judaism and Islam”

Iceland welcomes its first rabbi while considering a ban on circumcision
by Cnaan Liphshiz
April 8, 2018

…But it won’t be the last explanation coming from the New York native, who this year became Iceland’s first resident rabbi in documented history. [Rabbi Avi] Feldman and his wife, Mushky, and their two small daughters settled in the country as its parliament prepares to vote on a bill that would outlaw nonmedical circumcision of boys. Measuring his words on the subject, Feldman, a Chabad rabbi, told JTA before his arrival only that he and his wife “hope to bring awareness to local Icelandic people and especially to lawmakers in their decision on rules.” READ MORE

Sky News Reporter fails to stump Netanyahu spokesman [VIDEO]

Insanely biased Sky News interview with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s spokesman David Keyes. Keyes puts the reporter in his place explaining that the number of casualties on either side is not necessarily a reflection of the morality of each side — despite the common misconception. “Given the “enlightened” characters of the nations involved in the Holocaust, it boggles the mind that American Jews in particular think it is reasonable for them not to have guns”

CAROLINE GLICK BLOG
Jews with(out) guns
April 11, 2018

In the article linked below my friend Michael Ledeen writes about the escalation in anti-Jewish violence in Europe. He ends the article by noting that American Jews need to start organizing themselves to meet the wave of anti-Semitism that is moving swiftly towards them. I agree with his assessment. Michael notes with worry that the leftist ideological inclinations of most American Jews blind them to the dangers of anti-Semites on the left and among Muslims. Jews on the right minimize the threat of right-wing anti-Semitism. Both groups minimize threats from their sides of the fence at their peril. READ MORE

“Holocaust memory has grown a little stale these past several years and fatigue has set in”

JEWISH JOURNAL
Is There Anything Left To Say About the Holocaust?
by Thane Rosenbaum
April 4, 2018

Each of these [French] crimes was committed by Muslims on a continent already soaked with Jewish blood. Who would have guessed that the Middle East crisis would follow the Jews to Europe, where they were still trying to rebuild their lives, seven decades after Auschwitz? No wonder they have been leaving France for Israel and other safer havens at a rate of 7,000 each year. Hunting season for Holocaust survivors and other French Jews is apparently the new rage, or let’s call it outrage. And in some circles, it is treated as a joke. READ MORE

Top Entertainment Industry Executives Support Netflix After Threats from Anti-Israel Group
by Ariana Brockington
April 4, 2018

More than fifty top entertainment industry executives are supporting Netflix after the streaming site was threatened with a lawsuit for distributing Israeli television series “Fauda.” The executives added their signatures to a letter sent to Netflix’s Ted Sarandos, chief content creator, and Peter Friedlander, vice president of original series, addressing the potential lawsuit. The anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement is threatening to sue Netflix unless it cuts ties with the show, which it calls a “violation of international law and human rights,” the letter said. Washington Post column essentially suggests “Don’t Date Jewish Men”

PASTE
A Response to WaPo’s Vaguely Anti-Semitic “Don’t Date Jewish Men” Column, from a Jewish Man
By Jacob Weindling
April 2, 2018

…For The Washington Post to publish this article demonstrates not just a level of insincerity towards Jews, but towards the very concept of journalism. Here’s the title of the post: I am tired of being a Jewish man’s rebellion. This Jewish man read it, and, well, he has some thoughts.  If you’re not familiar with fisking, it’s a column within a column about a column…But as a Jewish man who has dated both non-Jewish and Jewish women, I feel a certain responsibility to join the rest of my brethren online, and fisk the hell out of Carey Purcell’s batch of vaguely anti-Semitic nonsense.
