‘A lot to fear,’ Jewish New Yorkers say about Mamdani primary win
Vita Fellig, Andrew Bernard
June 25, 2025

New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani’s victory in Tuesday night’s Democratic primary is alarming many Jews in the city who say that his anti-Israel rhetoric legitimizes antisemitism and deepens divisions…Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, told JNS that Mamdani’s electoral success portends trouble for the Jewish community in New York City. “As an American Jew and as a human, I am truly frightened that an antisemitic communist, Mamdani, has actually promoted murdering Jews by supporting and legitimizing the antisemitic rally cry ‘globalize the intifada,’ refuses to accept the Jewish State of Israel as a Jewish state and is friendly with Israel-bashing Jew-haters,” Klein said. FRONT PAGE MAG Anti-Israel Socialist Wins New York City’s Democratic Mayoral Primary According to a report by Canary Mission, Mamdani “has been a regular and prominent figure in NYC’s disruptive anti-Israel protest scene that has predominantly been engineered by Within Our Lifetime (WOL), an extremist and violent anti-Israel and anti-American group whose activists have been behind multiple attacks on Jews.” As part of his despicable attempt to target the Jewish state, “Mamdani has pledged to cut off private charitable funding and halt arms shipments to Israel, continuing the anti-Israel agenda he pursued as a state assembly member.”

COMMENTARY Seth Mandel: Brad Lander and the Collapse of NYC’s Jewish-Political Establishment Stephen Colbert can be effective at shielding left-wing anti-Semites from criticism, but he cannot hold a candle in that department to Brad Lander, who also struck a deal with Mamdani that each man’s voters would support the other as a second choice in case the primary went multiple rounds. Lander’s alliance with Mamdani, who is now the poster child for progressive anti-Zionism’s conquest of the mainstream Democratic Party, is the culmination of years of Lander’s efforts to kosherize anti-Semitism by serving as the blocking back for up-and-coming anti-Zionists as they rise within the party.

CHICAGO TRIBUNE Editorial Board: Want to know how a socialist mayor would govern New York City? Ask Chicago If New Yorkers are frustrated with Mayor Eric Adams, they should be careful not to trade him for someone who might preside over a city that is less competitive and less financially secure. Trust us — we’ve living that reality.

FREE PRESS The Mayor Who Wants to Save San Francisco from Itself But at the very moment New York is apparently embracing Zohran Mamdani’s radical chic, San Francisco is going in the other direction. The city by the bay has a new mayor, Daniel Lurie, who was effectively elected to clean up this failed experiment in extreme progressivism. San Francisco is saying, “Enough with the hippies, the ideologues, the performers. We want what works.”

A note of gratitude from a Jewish never-Trumper
Paul Mendlowitz
June 24, 2025

I never thought I’d say this, Mr. Trump – and please don’t let it go to your head – but today, I owe you thanks. I didn’t vote for you. I protested you. I laughed at your spelling, cried at your cruelty, and screamed into the void when you “truth’d” about disinfectant cures. I watched you hug flags, butcher Bible verses, and sell Trump Bibles, and confuse Iran with Iraq with a map upside-down. I am, proudly, a card-carrying member of the “Never Trump” tribe — mezuzah on the door, and more than a dozen op-eds about why you were dangerous. But today, I write with a rare and uncomfortable feeling: gratitude. Because, despite your vanity, your Twitter tantrums, your golf obsession, and your strange love letters to dictators, you bombed Iran. READ MORE

Having Faith While in Hell

July/August 2025

This column is about faith and miracles, and it begins with an event wondrous to behold: the New York Times publishing a thoughtful, balanced, and inspiring article pertaining to the current moment in Israel. The article features an interview with Omer Shem Tov, who until recently was held in cruel captivity by Hamas. Omer, the Times tells us, “had grown up in a largely secular home, and was living a relatively carefree existence after completing his compulsory military service.” Then, on October 7, 2023, he was suddenly snatched and subjected to torture in cramped surroundings for a year and a half. It was as a hostage that Shem Tov embraced the faith of his fathers: A few days into his captivity, he said, he began to speak to God. He made vows. He began to bless whatever food he was given. And he had requests—some of which he believes were answered. “You are looking for something to lean on, to hold onto,” Mr. Shem Tov said in a recent interview at his family home in Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv.  READ MORE

“Investigation by Sweden’s public broadcaster SVT alleges Tehran enlisted Swedish gangs to carry out targeted attacks in Europe, with Iran International among key targets”

Iran deployed Swedish gangs to target enemies abroad

June 21, 2025

…The documentary draws on intelligence documents, gang member testimonies and expert analysis to piece together what it called a disturbing operational pattern: Iranian operatives offering incentives in exchange for targeting designated entities. Among the top targets identified are Israeli interests and diplomatic missions and the London-based Persian language outlet Iran International. Iran International, which has a broad viewership inside Iran, has long faced threats from the Islamic Republic, but the report appeared to provide previously unreported details on Iran’s mobilization of street-level criminal networks to carry out attacks. Dan Gooding and Gabe Whisnant
June 20, 2025

Feras Hamdan, a 36-year-old Ohio doctor, turned himself in with counsel on Friday and was arrested and charged after allegedly forcing Republican Representative Max Miller off the road in a road rage incident. According to Rocky River, Ohio, police, the incident occurred on June 15 when Hamdan allegedly tailgated Miller’s vehicle, swerved erratically, and ultimately veered into his lane, causing the congressman to drive off the road to avoid a collision. Police said Miller’s wife and 2-year-old son were also in the car at the time of the incident in the suburb of Cleveland. Rocky River Police Department confirmed to Newsweek Friday afternoon that Hamdan was a doctor. He appeared in court for arraignment earlier in the day…The police report says that Hamdan allegedly honked his horn, shouted threats, and made aggressive gestures toward Miller while pursuing his vehicle. Witnesses said that Hamdan repeatedly attempted to block Miller’s car from changing lanes before forcing it off the road. READ MORE

CNN Man arrested after Ohio GOP congressman says he was run off the road and threatened Miller called police on his way to work and read the license plate of the alleged perpetrator. At one point, he held out his phone for the 911 dispatcher to hear the honking and yelling, though the sounds were largely unintelligible. “I was just driving to work and I was cut off by a man in a Tesla who held up a Palestinian flag to me and then rolled down his window and said that I’m going to cut your throat and your daughter’s. And he said you’re a dirty Jew. I’m going to f**king kill you all, and I know who you are and where you live,” Miller said in the transferred call.

“Influential media personality Tucker Carlson revealed his true colors as the most dangerous spokesman for Replacement Theology in his recent interview with Texas Senator Ted Cruz”

Tucker Carlson Embraces Replacement Theology and Curses Israel
Tuly Weisz
June 19, 2025

…[Tucker] Carlson, on the other hand, was expressing the view that Christianity in fact supersedes Judaism. After the Jews rejected Jesus, God broke His covenant with the nation of Israel and even replaced the “Old” Testament with the “New” one. This belief is known as Replacement Theology, and was the primary driver in Christian thought throughout history. Replacement Theology led directly to centuries of Christian antisemitism, Crusades, Inquisitions, pogroms and the Holocaust. After the horrors of World War Two and the miracles surrounding the founding of the State of Israel, millions of American Christians have rejected Replacement Theology in recent decades and have come to believe that God has maintained a special relationship with Israel, the land and the people. On his podcast, Carlson responded on air to the first reports of Iranian strikes on the U.S. airbase in Qatar. “Ugh, this is just sad on every level,” he said, placing his hand on his heart. After reading the initial report of the strike from Axios, Carlson said he was praying for America and “I hope that people who have audiences will be responsible, will remember that, like, life is short, you’re going to have to give an account.”

PM: Israel will ‘hit all nuclear facilities,’ has destroyed half of Iran’s launchers
Nava Freiberg
June 20, 2025

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Thursday evening that Israel is “ahead of schedule” in its military campaign against Iran, exceeding prior expectations and poised for further success. In a rare Hebrew-language interview with the Kan public broadcaster, Netanyahu said Israel has destroyed at least half of Iran’s missile launchers, eliminated key military leaders, is targeting paramilitary forces and will hit all of Iran’s nuclear sites — including the heavily fortified Fordo nuclear facility. “We are ahead of the schedule we set, both in terms of timing and results,” the premier said, nearly a week after Israel launched what it says is a preemptive campaign to neutralize an existential nuclear threat from Iran. JPOST Seth Frantzman: Iran exploits Israel’s urban defense challenges as it seeks to terrorize civilians Iran’s early morning missile fire on Israel on June 19 brought destruction to several areas. The strike on Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba was a blow to Israel’s medical facilities. Another missile struck in Ramat Gan in a busy business area. Because most businesses are closed, the strike did not cause loss of life or the kind of impact it might have had if it were a normal day. However, the attacks on June 19 are clearly unique in the seven-day war. The Ramat Gan strike is yet another example of how bad things can get here. We have air defenses, but they can’t stop every attack.

The interview was relatively civil for the first hour, but began to devolve when Carlson and Cruz started debating the benefits of the U.S. relationship with Israel and the merits of Israel and the United States allegedly spying on one another. NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani: Why would anyone besides an antisemite not be done with Mamdani?

The Specter of a Mamdani Mayoralty

June 17, 2025

What started as an outlandish nightmare scenario for Jewish New Yorkers is becoming frighteningly plausible: Democratic state assemblyman and mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is surging in polls, closing the gap with presumed front-runner Andrew Cuomo. This week’s Public Policy Polling survey of 573 likely voters even shows Mamdani taking a slim lead of 35% to Cuomo’s 31%. It’s a safe bet that none of Mamdani’s growing support is coming from the Orthodox Jewish community. “Zohran Mamdani is running the most deceptive, divisive, and anti-Semitic campaign in the history of New York City,” says Queens state assemblyman Sam Berger. Born and raised as a Muslim in Kampala, Uganda, Zohran Kwame Mamdani moved to New York at age seven with his parents, extremist Columbia professor Mahmood Mamdani and filmmaker Mira Nair. They were expelled from Uganda by dictator Idi Amin over their Indian heritage. READ MORE

The Ultimate Deception: How Trump and Bibi Outfoxed Iran
Michael Doran
June 13, 2025

They died in their own beds. Hossein Salami and Ali Shamkhani—Iran’s most senior military officers and the stewards of Iran’s nuclear weapons program—had spent years threatening Israel with destruction. They issued taunts, organized terrorist attacks, and orchestrated, since October 7, the encirclement of the Jewish state in a ring of fire of their terror proxies. And they knew—without the slightest illusion—that Israel had the capability and resolve to kill them. This cohort saw the Israeli air force bury Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah in his bunker, hundreds of meters beneath the streets of Beirut. They saw Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh vaporized in a presidential guesthouse—in Tehran, no less. Yet on Thursday night, they came home as usual and went to sleep—unguarded, unworried, carefree. Like insurance salesmen and bank tellers following their daily routines, it never occurred to them that they might not wake in the morning. But they didn’t. READ MORE
