Trump’s Latest Plan for Iran: Regime Disruption
by Eli Lake
January 14, 2020

Since President Donald Trump ordered the drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani earlier this month, his administration has argued the attack has two main benefits. Taking out Soleimani helped to prevent a series of attacks he was planning, officials say, and his death will deter Iran from further escalations against the U.S. in Iraq and the region. For a handful of Trump’s advisers, however, there is a third strategic benefit to killing Soleimani: Call it regime disruption. READ MORE

ZOA Criticizes Rep. Omar Who Calls For Sanctions on Ally Israel, But Decries Sanctions on Enemies Iran, Cuba & Venezuela
January 13, 2020

...This week, at a press conference, Rep. Omar condemned the Trump Administration’s intended sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that President Trump had “announced crippling sanctions to starve the innocent people of Iran.” She also claimed that sanctions are “economic warfare” and that sanctions had “already caused medical shortages and countless deaths in Iran.” Yet, at the same time, Rep Omar and her Muslim female colleague, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D–MI), have both come out in support of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to economically harm the Jewish State of Israel with a path to its international ostracism and eventual elimination. by Michael Peck
January 14, 2020

…The Spike NLOS (non-line-of-sight) missile will allow Apaches to remain safely behind cover – a hill or trees – while they guide the munition to the target. The Spike NLOS uses electro-optical guidance – basically a camera – with both day and night vision. With a range of 25 kilometers (15.5 miles), the missile uses a wireless data link to connect to the firing platform. “Spike NLOS provides the gunner with the unique ability to attack targets at stand-off range with no line of sight,” according to manufacturer Rafael’s product sheet. “The Spike NLOS weapon system can be operated in either direct attack or mid-course navigation based on target coordinates only…” READ MORE

by Tzvi Joffre
January 12, 2020

As anti-government protests swept Iran in the aftermath of the downing of a Ukrainian plane, students from Tehran avoided walking on massive American and Israel flags placed on the road in front of them. Videos circulated on social media showed Iranian students parting as they approached the large flags, taking pains to avoid stepping on them. A few people who did walk over the flags were booed by protesters in the area with chants of “Shame on you.” READ MORE

Facing Unprecedented Anti-Semitic Attacks, New York Jews Are Learning To Fight Back—Literally
by Matt Katz
January 9, 2020

The wave of anti-Semitic violence in the New York region is prompting some Jews to take matters into their own fists. Legion, a New York-based nonprofit that trains Jews in self-defense, is growing in popularity and planning to expand in the wake of last month’s deadly shooting at the Jersey City kosher market and machete attack at a rabbi’s house in Monsey. Legion draws a range of Jews, of all ages and degrees of religiosity, who believe that Jews need to protect themselves—because no one else will. READ MORE

Yale Psychiatrist Issues Diagnosis of “Psychotic” for Defending Constitutional Rights
by Alan M. Dershowitz
January 11, 2020

A Yale professor of forensic psychiatry has diagnosed guess who — yours truly — as suffering from “psychosis” for expressing legal views that happen to be on the Constitutional rights of President Donald Trump. Dr. Bandy Lee has never met me, never examined me, never seen my medical records, and never spoken to anyone close to me. Yet she is prepared to offer a diagnosis of “psychosis” which she attributes to my being one of President Trump’s “followers.” (I voted for Hillary Clinton and am a liberal Democrat.) READ MORE

“The more successful Trump’s reality-based policies towards Iran and Israel are, the harder it will be for the foreign policy establishment to restore their delusion-based policies when he leaves power”

ISRAEL HAYOM (by agreement with JNS)
Donald Trump and the mythmakers
by Caroline Glick
January 10, 2020

For the past 40-odd years, two narratives have guided American Middle East policy. Both were invented by the Carter administration. One relates to Iran. One relates to Israel. Both narratives reject reality as the basis for foreign policy decision-making in favor of delusion. Over the past two months, President Donald Trump has rejected and disavowed them both. His opponents are apoplectic…If Trump’s reality-based policies succeed, he will dismantle their foreign policy legacy. All their protestations of wisdom, all their fancy resumes and titles as former senior officials will lose their allure and market value. READ MORE

NY SUN Editorial Board Trump on Iran: Appeasement Is Over What gets us about all this is the total unwillingness of the Democrats to take any responsibility for the catastrophe of the appeasement they pursued so ardently. On the contrary, with the stench of battle still over the bases in Iraq where Iran tried to rocket our GIs, Mr. Kerry issued an op-ed piece casting blame for any war that might result on — wait for it — the Americans.
