Why would Schumer ignore antisemitism in his own backyard ?

Chuck Schumer sold out to pro-Hamas thugs at Columbia because he’s a Dem hack

The highest-ranking Jewish elected official in America, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, secretly sided with the antisemites, per a shocking new report from the House Education and the Workforce Committee.  Per the blockbuster, 325-page report, Columbia University’s then-President Minouche Shafik’s said that Schumer’s staff had told her the senator advised that the best response to the outbreak of pro-Hamas violence was to “to keep heads down.” More, she claimed Schumer himself had said Columbia bigs shouldn’t be concerned about the horrors because the “political problems are really only among Republicans.” No: A massive upsurge of pro-terror sentiment at an elite university is a “political problem” for everyone. This week’s teachable moment: “Most people dislike being talked down to and insulted, especially Americans”

The Election’s Big Loser is the Democrats’ Narrative
Bruce Thornton
November 8, 2024

On Tuesday Donald Trump’s “shellacking,” to borrow a word from Barack Obama––winning not just the electoral college, but also the popular vote and the Senate majority–– is a definitive repudiation not just of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, but of a political narrative over a century in the making. As always, bad policies are the fruit of bad ideas, but arrogance about the superiority of those ideas carries within them nemesis, the punisher of hubris that may be delayed, but never escaped. Today’s Democrats have embraced a narrative––call it “left,” “progressive,” “socialist,” “woke,” or what you will–– which rejects holding people accountable for their actions. Instead, a crude determinism shapes and governs their behavior. Hence, we’re told that poverty, capitalism, injustice, racism, sexism, and all the other -isms and -phobias explain people’s crimes and failures. READ MORE

SKY NEWS VIDEO Batya Ungar-Sargon: Donald Trump’s victory gave ‘dignity’ back to working-class Americans Newsweek Deputy Opinion Editor Batya Ungar-Sargon says the Democrat’s “immense contempt” for the working class helped give Donald Trump an edge in the election. “Their immense contempt for the working class the backbone of this country has been made so clear,” Ms Ungar-Sargon said. “As they continue to blame voters for Donald Trump’s win instead of saying he won because he gave dignity back to the American working class.”

COMMENTARY John Podhoretz: Let’s Begin Talking About the Jewish Vote But look at what my friend Josh Kraushaar, the editor of Jewish Insider, tweeted: “Wow: Trump carried PASSAIC County, New Jersey. Majority/Hispanic electorate and home to a sizable Orthodox Jewish constituency.” Jews make up about 25 percent of the county’s population and it has been a Democratic stronghold forever.  Joe Biden took Passaic in 2020 with 57.5 percent to Trump’s 41 percent. Last night, Trump won it with 50 percent to Harris’s 46.5 percent. That’s a 16 point overall swing in Trump’s favor.

Hezbollah reportedly agrees to withdraw beyond Litani River, Lebanese reports claim
Ana Bersky
October 31, 2024

Despite Hezbollah’s declarations throughout the war, the terrorist organization has agreed to drop its demands and is ready to withdraw beyond the Litani River, Lebanon’s MTV website, which is associated with Hezbollah opponents, reported Wednesday night. The report indicated that Hezbollah agreed to establish a demilitarized zone, with all its weapons to be moved beyond the river. It was also claimed that Hezbollah no longer insists on being directly connected to events in Gaza. MTV Lebanon noted that a three-day ceasefire draft is being discussed in Lebanon, and American officials are expected to present it to Israel in the coming days. READ MORE

FDD Hezbollah Launches Lethal Strikes on Northern Israel as Lebanon Ceasefire Hints Circulate Seven people across northern Israel were killed by Hezbollah rocket fire on October 31 amid ongoing discussions to halt the war between Israel and the Iran-backed terrorist organization in Lebanon. Five people were killed by a Hezbollah attack near Metula, while two more were killed near Haifa by a separate Hezbollah barrage fired later in the day.  The latest deadly attacks come as U.S. officials Brett McGurk and Amos Hochstein are set to travel to Israel to discuss ceasefires in both Lebanon and Gaza.

REUTERS Israel wants to enforce any Lebanon ceasefire deal, Netanyahu tells US envoys Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. envoys on Thursday that Israel’s ability to counter threats to its security from Lebanon and return displaced people to the north were key elements of any ceasefire deal with Lebanon. He was speaking shortly after a Hezbollah attack on northern Israel’s Metula killed five people including an Israeli farmer and four foreign workers, while two more civilians were killed from shrapnel near the town of Kiryat Ata, Israeli authorities said.

Iran Is Blind, Deaf, and Humiliated; Iran ‘naked’ after Israel knocks out its air defense system

SPECTATOR
The humiliation of Iran
Yossi Melman
October 24, 2024

The ramifications for Iran, Israel, its Shiite proxies in the region, and the West are enormous. Iran, for all its rhetoric, has been proven to be a paper tiger. It will take at least two years for its anti-aircraft defenses to be resupplied by Russia, which is already suffering from production difficulties due to the war in Ukraine. Until that happens, Iran is blind, deaf, and has been humiliated. And with less than two weeks until the U.S. elections, it will hesitate from retaliating against Israel, fearing that this will aid Trump’s election prospects. Israel, meanwhile, has once again proven its aerial and intelligence superiority. Israel’s attack was designed to achieve several goals, some military and some psychological. It has sent a clear message to Iranian leaders and commanders: that it knows about Iran’s military bases, its headquarters, air-defense systems, and missile depots, as well as its command-and-control centers. FDD Mark Dubowitz: Israel Retaliates Against Iran Regime with Precision Strikes In the early hours of October 26, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced it had successfully targeted key Iranian military and defense industry assets, including air defense systems, missile production facilities, and UAV production sites. The precision strikes follow more than a year of Iranian proxy attacks on Israel, and two rounds of direct attacks on Israel from Iranian territory on April 13 and October 1. The Israeli Air Force reportedly struck multiple S-300 air defense systems, demonstrating it can cripple Iran’s defense of its airspace, critical infrastructure, and facilities. All Israeli aircraft returned home safely, demonstrating the IAF’s dominance in the air.

JNS Caroline Glick: Israel fires back at Iran! Was that it? The Israel Defense Forces carried out precise and targeted airstrikes against military targets in Iran over the weekend. In this episode of Caroline Glick’s “In Focus,” we’ll discuss the targeted sites and why the IDF chose them. We’ll also try to decipher the factors that affect Israel’s strategy and what to look for in the coming days and weeks, especially as America heads to the presidential elections.

JINSA Israel Strikes Back Webinar IDF MG (ret.) Yaakov Amidror: “In a way, it’s a turning point here. What happened is that the whole strategy of Iran, that was built by Suleimani and Khamenei for the last 25 years, is collapsing. Israel has been speaking about an attack on Iran for at least 15 years. For the self-confidence of Israel, this operation is very key. Now every decision-maker understands that we have a tool that can be exercised…the basic fact of the Israeli Air Force hitting Iran, destroying targets, and coming back without casualties … is very important…it gives us kind of a freedom. WATCH THE WEBINAR

NEW YORK POST Israel used US-made F-35 stealth fighters in its largest-ever strike on Iran Israel deployed US-made F-35 stealth fighters among its 100 jets, spy planes and refueling aircraft to conduct its largest-ever strike on Iran, which left Tehran vulnerable should war break out, a report says. The Jewish state greenlit the use of F-35s, its most advanced aerial weapon, to help lead operation “Day of Repentance” that bombarded military sites across Iran on Friday night, sources told the Wall Street Journal. The four-hour operation, which was launched in retaliation for Tehran’s ballistic missile barrage against Israel on Oct. 1, also destroyed several of Iran’s missile defense system batteries, leaving a hole in the Islamic nation’s security in a reported attempt to discourage another attack on Israel.

Much of the anti-Israel vituperation slides into classrooms through a subject called ethnic studies. In 2021, California became the first state to adopt it as a requirement for receiving a high school diploma. Legislatures of more than a dozen states have already followed suit, incorporating ethnic studies into K–12 curricula. In principle, these laws require schools to teach the histories and cultures of African Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Latinos, and Native Americans. In practice, they grant teachers license to incorporate lessons that often divide civilization into “oppressed” and “oppressor.” A primary fixation of ethnic studies is demonizing Israel.  Activist-led organizations readily supply instructional materials. Arab Resource & Organizing Center (AROC), Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA; creators of the Teach Palestine Project), Teaching While MuslimJewish Voice for PeaceUnión del Barrio, and the Zinn Education Project regularly furnish distorted histories with eliminationist rhetoric against Israel. READ MORE

Bucking global pressure, Knesset overwhelmingly backs legislation against UNRWA over staffers’ terror links

TIMES OF ISRAEL
Knesset approves laws barring UNRWA from Israel, limiting it in Gaza and West Bank
Sam Sokol and Jacob Magid
October 29, 2024

Despite widespread international opposition, lawmakers voted overwhelming on Monday evening to approve two bills essentially barring the UN agency for Palestinian refugees and their descendants from operating in Israel, and severely curtailing its activities in Gaza and the West Bank. During the opening plenum session of the Knesset’s winter legislative session, MKs voted 92 to 10 to approve a law barring UNRWA from operating in Israeli territory, and 87-9 in favor of another measure curtailing UNRWA’s activities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank by banning state authorities from having any contact with the agency. Without coordination with Israel, it will be almost impossible for UNRWA to work in Gaza or the West Bank, since Jerusalem would no longer be issuing entrance permits to those territories or allowing coordination with the IDF. JNS Israeli UN envoy: UNRWA ‘payroll resembles a most-wanted list’ Israel’s envoy to the United Nations on Tuesday hit back against criticism of Jerusalem’s outlawing of the scandal-plagued United Nations Relieve and Works Agency (UNRWA). Speaking at a meeting of the U.N. Security Council, Ambassador Danny Danon said, “In the last year, we have exposed UNRWA in Gaza as a terrorist front camouflaged as a humanitarian agency,” adding, “Its payroll resembles a most-wanted list, rather than an aid organization.”

COMMENTARY Seth Mandel: Cry Me a River, UNRWA The UN, of course, is furious. But honestly, who cares? For posterity, here’s the crux of the world body’s complaint: “The vote by the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) against UNRWA this evening is unprecedented and sets a dangerous precedent. It opposes the UN Charter and violates the State of Israel’s obligations under international law.” An unprecedented precedent-setter! The legislation, we’re told, “will deprive over 650,000 girls and boys there from education.” An education from literal Hamas political leaders? Or accused hostage-takers? Anyway, the “education” provided by UNRWA schools teaches children to venerate terrorists and to hate Jews, which is really no education at all.

A call for Jewish moral confidence

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Jew?
Raphael Shore
October 13, 2024

As antisemitism surges across the globe, from the streets of Europe to college campuses in America, one cannot help but ask: why do people hate the Jews? This question, as old as the days of the Pharaohs – demands more than just historical or sociological analysis. It requires a deeper understanding of what truly drives this persistent animosity and, most importantly, how Jews—particularly young Jews—should respond. My forthcoming book, Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Jew? seeks not only to answer these questions but provide actionable steps one can take to combat this hatred effectively…In this time of rising antisemitism, the answers lie not only in external strategies but in cultivating a deep connection to Jewish identity. My book, Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Jew, and accompanying film, Tragic Awakening, offer a path to understanding the roots of Jew-hatred, but more importantly, it provides a path to reclaiming Jewish strength and resilience. Haley Strack
October 30, 2024

Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi, the 22-year-old Muslim man suspected of shooting a 39-year-old Jewish man who was on his way to synagogue last weekend in Chicago, is a Mauritanian illegal immigrant who was caught and released in San Diego, Ca., in March of last year. Abdallahi was charged with 14 felonies, including six counts of attempted murder, seven counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and aggravated battery…The suspect was detained by Border Patrol in the San Diego sector in 2023, before being released, at which point he apparently traveled to Chicago. Sanctuary-city policies in Cook County, Ill., where the shooting took place, bar local authorities from cooperating with ICE detainer requests. READ MORE

An Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip Wednesday killed a Hamas Nukhba Force commander who led the massacre and kidnapping of Israelis from a roadside bomb shelter near Kibbutz Re’im on October 7, the army and Shin Bet announced Thursday. According to the military, Muhammad Abu Attawi, who served as a Nukbha commander in Hamas’s Bureij Battalion, was also employed by the UN Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA since July 2022. During the October 7 onslaught, Attawi commanded the attack on a bomb shelter near Re’im where partygoers from the Nova festival had fled to. 16 were murdered at concrete shelter and 4 kidnapped, including Hersh Goldberg-Polin. Trying Israel without Hamas risks violating the International Criminal Courts rules

FORWARD
With Sinwar dead, the ICC must stop or suspend Israel’s prosecution
Joel Margolis
October 24, 2024

What should a prosecutor do when the key defendants die before trial? In May 2024, International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan formally asked the court to approve arrest warrants for certain leaders of Hamas and Israel. However, now that Hamas mastermind Yahya Sinwar has died, none of the Hamas leaders named in the arrest warrants is alive. Khan may now terminate the entire prosecution or seek arrest warrants for additional Hamas commanders. If he rejects these options and decides to proceed solely with a trial against Israel, he would risk violating the ICC’s enabling treaty, known as the Rome Statute. Instead, Khan should ensure that no Israeli leader is prosecuted until and unless Hamas is first held accountable for its war crimes. READ MORE
