The changing of the guard in US-Israel relations
by Alex Traiman
January 20, 2021

Like many American policies now expected to undergo an about-face following the inauguration of 46th President Joe Biden, U.S.-Israel relations may be gearing up for a great reset…Yet today, with the changing of the guard, Israelis and many others in the region are concerned that the Biden administration may align much closer with the inflammatory views of [Rashida] Tlaib, as well as the policies of Obama, who sought to create “daylight” between Washington and Jerusalem, empower Iran, elevate the standing of the Palestinian Authority and isolate Israel in diplomatic forums…READ MORE

“It is now a social imperative to distance oneself from President Donald Trump, if not to revile him”

After Trump, Israel’s Claim To Truth Is Stronger
by Yishai Fleisher
January 19, 2021

As The Times of Israel’s David Horovitz has written: “Israel’s White House ally is a figure of shame, and all who have celebrated associating with him are at risk of being stained.” But I, for one, will not turn my back on a man, and a team, who attacked calcified anti-Israel lies and instead told the plain truth—and by doing so, lifted the Jewish state’s international standing many-fold. Before Trump, we lived with the reality that Israel’s greatest ally, the United States, also tacitly supported the enemies of Israel and their terrorist and narrative wars against us. READ MORE

Israel may be starting to show ‘herd effects’ of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, expert suggests

NATIONAL REVIEW
Why Is Israel Doing Better Than Everyone Else in COVID Vaccinations?
by Joel M. Zinberg
January 17, 2021 6:30 AM

Israel leads the world in COVID-19 vaccinations. It has already vaccinated nearly a quarter of its population, including 75 percent of the population most at risk, people over age 60. It has administered 24.5 doses per 100 persons, nearly double the next-best country (the United Arab Emirates) and about 8 times as many people per capita as in the U.S. and the U.K. Israel’s per capita vaccination rate is 24 times that of the normally efficient Germans and 50 times better than the world average. Only three other countries in the world — the U.S., China, and the U.K. — have administered more vaccines. READ MORE

YAHOO Israel may be starting to show ‘herd effects’ of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, expert suggests Israel has vaccinated at least 25 percent of its population against the coronavirus so far, which leads the world and makes it “the country to watch for herd effects from” the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, says infectious disease expert David Fishman. Recently, the case rate in Israel appears to have declined sharply, and while there could be a few reasons for that, it’s possible the vaccination effort is beginning to play a role.

For Israeli right, Trump’s Mideast legacy will outshine his last days
by Orit Arfa
January 18, 2021

…“It took a man who was not the norm, not a career politician, not a regular ‘dude’—a dude that came from being a mogul, media guy and just a character—to break a lot of the calcified lies that we’ve lived with,” said Yishai Fleisher, the American-born international spokesperson for the Jewish community of Hebron. The defamation of Trump in the media, he said, mirrors the defamation of Israeli settlers as “obstacles to peace.” Fleisher, as an advocate for Israel, deferred on judging Trump’s performance in the United States, though he thinks that patriotic Israelis will continue to like him, even personally, in part because they got the sense that he genuinely liked them. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib Calls Israel a ‘Racist State,’ Spreads False Claims on Vaccinating Palestinians
by Staff
January 19, 2021

US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) called Israel a “racist state” in an interview Tuesday with the left-wing news program Democracy Now!, and falsely claimed that it was denying coronavirus vaccines to Palestinians. “I think it’s really important to understand Israel is a racist state and that they would deny Palestinians, like my grandmother, access to a vaccine, that they don’t believe that she’s an equal human being that deserves to live, deserves to be able to be protected by this global pandemic,” Rep. Tlaib said in the interview with program host Amy Goodman. READ MORE

“Hardly any British people have the slightest inkling of what has been going on in our so-called seats of learning”

GATESTONE
Educational Ethnic Cleansing
by Richard Kemp
January 20, 2021

“The goal is achieved! No more Jews at German universities,” the leading Nazi student newspaper, Die Bewegung, triumphantly proclaimed in 1938. Of course, nothing like it could ever happen again. Except something like it is happening again — now, and in Britain. According to a report published this week by David Collier, a British researcher, some UK universities are now virtually Judenfrei: free of Jews. This is a chilling indictment not just of British academia but of a liberal democratic society that has tolerated, often through ignorance or complacency, a wave of discrimination against Jews that has swept through the universities over recent decades. In waning days, Trump shakes up CENTCOM to increase Arab-Israeli efforts against Iran
by Howard Altman
January 15, 2021

With just days left in his presidency and in a bid to solidify Arab-Israeli efforts against Iran before Joe Biden takes office, Donald Trump has shaken up the headquarters overseeing U.S. military operations in the Middle East and Southwest Asia. The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday evening that Trump has ordered U.S. Central Command to add Israel to the list of nations for which it has responsibility…It is the crowning piece of Trump’s efforts to stitch together disparate nations with a common enemy, following the signing of the Abraham Accords, in which Israel normalized relations with former enemies Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which serves Palestinian refugees, admitted on Thursday that its educational materials contain exhortations to violence, hate speech, and terrorism that violate UN regulations…Marcus Sheff, the CEO of IMPACT-se, commented, “After years of hearing UNRWA’s claims that it does not teach hate and has safeguards in place, we have for the first time taken a [peek] behind the curtain and what we see is shocking.” “A UN organization has created radical teaching material that promotes violence, hate, and blood libels; has systematically distributed it to over 300,000 school children….
