“The Israeli flag becomes a prop, a shield against criticism, as they demand measures that would empower Hamas, weaken Israel’s deterrence, and make the survival of a sovereign Jewish homeland far less certain”

Israel’s Far-Left is a national security threat
Joshua Hoffman
August 7, 2025

…After a few weeks of “unity” lip service from the Far-Left, “protests for the hostages” have become a regular fixture in Tel Aviv and other parts of the country. At first glance, they appear to be humanitarian rallies calling for the safe return of Israelis held by Hamas in Gaza. But if you actually go, you’ll see that the hostage cause has been hijacked. Yes, there are signs and speeches about the hostages — but woven into the banners, chants, and megaphone tirades are entirely unrelated demands: calls for Right-wing politicians to be jailed, inflammatory accusations against the government, and baseless claims about Israel’s conduct in the war. To add insult to injury, these Far-Left fanatics bring Israeli flags to these protests to make it seem like they appreciate our Jewish state, all the while advocating for policies and concessions that would dismantle it from within. “Readers are apparently expected to have a sympathetic reaction toward “victims” who also happen to be terrorists”

AP Writes Puff Piece on Hezbollah ‘Victims’ of Israeli Pager Attack
Andrew Stiles
August 6, 2025

The Associated Press reached new heights of terrorist sympathy on Wednesday by publishing a compassionately credulous report on “the human toll of Israel’s exploding-pagers attack targeting Hezbollah,” the Iranian-funded terrorist group. The AP contacted the Hezbollah public relations department and was given the contact information of several “victims” of the September 2024 attack who agreed to discuss their “slow, painful path to recovery.”…Doing what comes naturally, the AP makes sure to note that the United Nations, a thoroughly unserious organization, and other so-called human rights groups have denounced Israel’s attack—without a doubt the most precisely targeted anti-terrorism operation in history—as an “indiscriminate” war crime. FREE PRESS The Editors: Mistakes at ‘The New York Times’ Only Go in One Direction On Tuesday evening, The New York Times quietly added an editors’ note amending their front-page story on hunger in Gaza from last week. The note and what it admits—about the story, the paper, and how this war has been covered by the media—deserves a lot more attention than it’s received, as does the actual state of hunger in Gaza. The initial story, titled “Gazans Are Dying of Starvation,” quickly rocketed around the internet when it was published on July 24. It was featured on the front page of the paper the following day, with a photo of a sick child being cradled in his mother’s arms. READ MORE

CAMERA BLOG When Journalists Become the Story On July 21, 2025, the Society of Journalists for Agence France Presse (AFP) put out a dramatic press release  about the imminent deaths due to starvation of “the last reporters in Gaza.” The press release referred to the heartbreaking cries of AFP employees who no longer have the physical capacity to work due to starvation, and mentioned 10 reporters — one freelance writer, three photographers, and six freelance videographers – who would die in the absence of intervention…  Missing from the crescendo of rising condemnation was criticism of Hamas for intercepting and disrupting the distribution of humanitarian aid or of the UN for rejecting offers by the Israeli and U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation to collaborate on distributing food and humanitarian aid to Gazans…

“The terrorists always had food and they’re intentionally starving Evyatar as much as they starve their own population”

MORNING MUSINGS
What Do You See?
Peter Himmelman
August 5, 2025

…Evyatar David is twenty-three. He had just finished his military service when, on October 7, he went to the Nova music festival—a peace festival near the Gaza border. A celebration of joy, music, and coexistence. He’s an artist, a dancer, by all accounts a gentle soul. That’s where they took him. That’s where Hamas came storming in—on paragliders, pickup trucks, and motorcycles—and began executing young people one by one. Some were shot while hiding. Some were raped and tortured before being killed. Some were burned alive.  Evyatar was dragged into Gaza. His family had no word from him for over a year—until Hamas released a propaganda video this August, showing his emaciated form and the horror he endures. In the footage, he is forced to dig what he believes is his own grave. His parents approved the release of the clip, hoping the world would wake up to the barbarity of what is happening. READ MORE

NEW YORK POST Israeli ‘living-skeleton’ hostage’s brother blasts ‘well-fed’ Hamas terrorists for also starving ‘own population’ The brother of the hostage forced by Hamas to dig his own grave blasted the “well-fed” terrorists for leaving his brother like a “living skeleton” — and ignoring the plight of those starving across Gaza. “We saw the well-fed hand of the terrorist in that video that Hamas released this past weekend,” Ilay David told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday of the horrific footage of his 24-year-old brother, Evyatar David. “You can see that the terrorists have food and the testimonies of captivity survivors says the same,” he said.

Jeremy Ben-Ami, the leader of the far-left, George Soros-backed J Street, who lied for years about whether his group had taken money from the billionaire, now says Israel’s war of self-defense in Gaza is a “genocide.”

BREITBART
Confirmed Liar Jeremy Ben-Ami of Soros-Backed J Street Joins Team ‘Genocide’
Joel Pollak
August 4, 2025

Ben-Ami, who had no problem kissing the terror-supporting, Holocaust-denying, genocide-supporting leader of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, has a history of supporting radical anti-Israel activism. Even though J Street bills itself as “pro-Israel, pro-peace,” it avoids embracing Israeli symbols and has promoted libels against Israel before — such as the discredited Goldstone Report of 2009, later recanted by its author. That report falsely accused Israel of war crimes in another war of self-defense against Hamas. In the current situation, Ben-Ami claims in a Substack post, Israeli soldiers are “[d]enying food and basic necessities of life to civilians” (when in fact they are facilitating the delivery of thousands of truckloads of aid) and “shooting at civilians trying to get food” (which has never happened but has been falsely reported by Hamas and mainstream media outlets). NEW YORK POST Mahmoud Khalil ripped over attempt to ‘justify’ Oct. 7 attack in Ezra Klein, NYT interview: ‘Must be immediately deported’ Speaking with New York Times journalist Ezra Klein on his podcast this week, Khalil, 30, called Oct. 7 a “desperate” moment which Palestinians “had to reach” in order to have their voices heard. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t avoid such a moment,” he said, when asked about the attack by the terror group — which is still holding 50 hostages in Gaza, of whom just about 20 are believed to still be alive. He also seemed to tie the attack to an agreement that would have normalized relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. “It was clear that the Saudi-Israel deal is very imminent, and Palestinians wouldn’t have any path to statehood and self-determination…

Auschwitz-Birkenau tells IDF: We don’t want your Israeli flags here.

COMBAT ANTISEMITISM MOVEMENT
Polish Police Force IDF Delegation to Lower Israeli Flags at Auschwitz In Unprecedented Interruption
August 3, 2025

In a troubling incident last Thursday, Polish police interrupted an official Israeli military delegation at the gates of Auschwitz-Birkenau and ordered participants to remove their Israeli flags, abruptly halting a decades-old tradition of Holocaust remembrance led by uniformed officers. The group of 180 officers from the Israel Defense Forces and other Israeli security agencies was participating in the “Witnesses in Uniform” program, which brings Israeli personnel to sites of Nazi atrocities…The officer added that no such ceremony had ever been interrupted before — not at Auschwitz, nor at Treblinka, Warsaw, or Majdanek — making this break with protocol especially painful. “Forcing us to abandon a long-standing tradition — especially at a site where the Jewish people were nearly annihilated — was deeply disturbing,” said another member of the group. “Losing a significant part of our ceremony hurt us all.” READ MORE

COMBAT ANTISEMITISM MOVEMENT ‘Death to the IDF’ Graffiti and Torched Cars: FBI Probes Antisemitic Attack in St. Louis Suburb A suspected antisemitic hate crime is under investigation in Clayton, Missouri, after three vehicles were set on fire and graffiti reading “Death to the IDF” was discovered outside the home of a U.S. citizen who previously served in the IDF. The attack occurred early Tuesday morning and appears to have deliberately targeted the man and his family. According to the Clayton Police Department, responding officers discovered three vehicles had been damaged by a fire “believed to have been intentionally set.” The department confirmed that “antisemitic graffiti was written in roadway,” said it believes the victim “was specifically targeted.”

“Under the New York Declaration and the Arab Peace Initiative, Jews would leave Palestine while Palestinians would move to Israel”

FDD
Born dead: The New York Declaration for two states
Hussain Abdul-Hussain
August 3, 2025

…As of 2025, the original 700,000 Palestinian refugees registered with UNRWA have grown to 5.9 million, still classified as refugees, though nearly five million have gained citizenship in other countries. Applying UNGA Resolution 194 to these 5.9 million, a process that Palestinians call the “right of return,” would effectively end Israel as a Jewish state. The two-state solution implicitly envisions a Jewish Israel and an Arab Palestine. Arab governments demand that Israel dismantle settlements and relocate approximately one million Jews from the West Bank and East Jerusalem to within the 1948 armistice line, creating a Jew-free Palestine. At the same time, Arabs insist that Israel accept UN General Assembly Resolution 194, which Palestinians interpret as granting a “right of return” for 5.9 million registered refugees to Israel. GATESTONE Khaled Abu Toameh: How Hamas Sees the West’s Recognition of ‘Palestine’ The recent announcements by France, Britain, Canada and other countries that they intend to recognize a Palestinian state have emboldened the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas…This was Hamas’s initial reaction to the announcements: “The recognition of the State of Palestine with full sovereignty is the fruit of our people’s continuous struggle.” Hamas clearly views the statements made by the leaders of France, Britain, Canada and other countries as the direct result of its October 7 carnage.

QUILLETTE Editorial Board: Against Palestinian Statehood Nurturing an alternative power structure in this kind of politically stunted society will be the work of generations. It can’t be summoned into existence by Western leaders seeking to appease domestic constituencies. “The decision by several countries to recognise a Palestinian state is one of the fruits of the October 7 [terrorist attacks],” declared a Hamas official last week. “[Hamas] brought the issue back to the forefront, and that is why all the countries are starting to recognise a Palestinian state.”

Chicago is one of the few remaining cities that does not have a Jewish high school. For now.

An effort is underway to launch a Jewish high school in Chicago, where antisemitism concerns run high
Grace Gilson
August 7, 2025

Chicago has many hallmarks of a thriving Jewish community: dozens of synagogues of every denomination, a range of kosher restaurants and bakeries and one of the largest Jewish federations in the country. But locals have long lamented one big gap: a Jewish high school within the city limits. Now, a parent-led initiative to open one in Chicago is gaining steam, with a building under contract, the city’s Jewish federation engaged, and buzz growing among families. The goal is to launch in 2027, giving graduates of the city’s three non-Orthodox Jewish day schools a local choice beyond public and secular private schools. The effort comes as both public and private high schools in the city have drawn allegations of antisemitism. READ MORE

DePaul Professor Kwall: “We need our houses of worship to be a refuge from strife and political discord, and not a source of such conflict”

JEWISH JOURNAL
Pulpits and Politics Do Not Mix
Roberta “Bobbi” Kwall
July 22, 2025

…Until earlier this month, all clergy in this country had a reason to avoid wading into politics given that a ban on political activity by tax-exempt non-profits had been in existence for decades. But on July 8, the I.R.S. interpreted this ban to allow clergy and houses of worship to endorse political candidates. According to the I.R.S., political endorsements by houses of worship are distinct from campaigning activity and more like a private, “family discussion concerning candidates.” But just because clergy can now endorse candidates does not mean that they should. To its credit, the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center has already condemned this ruling, urging its reversal.  We all know how polarized politics has seeped into way too many of our cherished spaces, resulting in unhealable rifts among both families and friends. In too many settings, both professional and personal, the most dominant political perspective dominates the discourse, resulting in what I call a “silencing phenomenon” that impacts those with minority views. In 1st, entire Arab League condemns Oct. 7, urges Hamas to disarm, at 2-state confab
Jacob Magid
July 30, 2025

Arab and Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey, signed a declaration Tuesday condemning for the first time Hamas’s onslaught of October 7, 2023, and calling on the Palestinian terror group to release all the hostages it is holding, disarm and end its rule of Gaza, in a bid to end the devastating war in the Strip. Seventeen countries, plus the 22-member Arab League and the entire European Union, threw their weight behind a seven-page text — obtained by The Times of Israelagreed at a United Nations conference on reviving the two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians. ISRAEL HAYOM British officials slam recognition of Palestinian state A delegation of former UK ministers and parliamentarians visiting Israel has criticized British policy. In a conversation with Israel Hayom, they said, “This won’t bring us closer to a two-state solution and won’t ease the suffering of the Palestinian people.”

FOX NEWS Mark Levin torches UK leader Starmer, details why he’s ‘sick and tired’ of Europe’s lectures to Israel U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer entered Mark Levin’s crosshairs Wednesday after making demands of Israel and threatening to recognize a Palestinian state unless the former agrees to a ceasefire and takes “substantive steps” to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza…“If they had had their way, Israel already would have surrendered to Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. These guys [European leaders] don’t know how to fight a war, they don’t know how to defend their own people, they have open immigration, their countries have been taken over… They have no rational policy at all for Israel to defend itself and protect itself.”

ISRAEL HAYOM More European countries join campaign against Israel Sweden and Portugal join other EU members in the growing diplomatic momentum against Israel, where numerous countries are expected to announce their recognition of a Palestinian state in September.

Macron’s Dangerous Delusion — Recognition of a Palestinian State Will Lead to More War & Terror
Micha Danzig
July 28, 2025

French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent announcement that France will move to recognize a so-called “Palestinian state,” headed by the kleptocracy known as the Palestinian Authority, is not only morally indefensible — it’s also strategically foolish, historically blind and deeply corrosive to the prospects of real peace. It is a gift to terrorism, an insult to international law, a betrayal of France’s own long-standing commitment to “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” and democracy itself. Let’s be clear: There is no historical, legal or ethical justification for rewarding the Palestinian Authority (PA) — a regime neck-deep in corruption, antisemitism and incitement to violence — with statehood. Macron’s decision signals to the world that terrorism, rejectionism and the glorification of murder can achieve diplomatic rewards. READ MORE

JNS France held secret meeting with Hamas in 2020 Paris has been carrying out “secret contacts” with Hamas at least since October 2020, when a high-ranking French intelligence official met two with senior Hamas figures in Doha, Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Saturday. The meeting, initiated by the French, came to Israel’s knowledge through a document captured by the IDF in Gaza, which provided a detailed report on the meeting. On Oct. 16, 2020, the No. 3 in French intelligence met with Hamas senior officials Moussa Abu Marzouk and Khaled Mashaal, respectively the former and current chairman of Hamas’s so-called political bureau.
