“History has told us that if you want to know a person’s truest nature, examine his attitude toward Jews”

SPECTATOR
The uncomfortable truth about Black Lives Matter, Malcolm X and anti-Semitism
by Jake Wallis Simons
January 26, 2021

..It goes without saying that Malcolm X was a towering figure in the civil rights struggle, and played a major role in enhancing black pride. But he was a figure both of dazzling light and troubled darkness. History has told us that if you want to know a person’s truest nature, examine his attitude toward Jews. If you find this to be malign, be on your guard; as the late Lord Sacks put it, ‘the hate that begins with Jews never ends with Jews.’ Dr King and Malcolm X were both assassinated almost six decades ago. In the years that followed, they have come to inspire the polarized forces that battle for the soul of Western culture all around us. While one sought to defuse racial tensions, the other attempted to force the aggressive ascendency of an oppressed community. READ MORE

“The new AT age — “After Trump” — began on either Election Day, Nov. 3, or on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20. But either way, reality as we had known it for four years has been abruptly reinvented”

TOWNHALL
The ‘After Trump’ Era Begins
by Victor Davis Hanson
January 28, 2021

…Pfizer had hinted that a vaccine could be ready in late October. Then, mysteriously, it wasn’t. Then, stranger still, it appeared — a few days after Election Day. Suddenly, after Joe Biden’s inauguration, Illinois, Michigan and other blue states eased some of their lockdown restrictions to get their economies back on track despite little change in COVID-19 rates. During the Trump Age, the president was supposedly responsible for every death from COVID-19. Now, the media reports that career scientists and health administrators in the federal government, especially at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were largely to blame for past slow testing, and were tardy and lax in apprising the nation of the infectious threat. “IDF’s Kohavi warns US against rejoining 2015 nuclear deal or even a slightly improved version, calling it ‘a bad thing to do’ that would lead to an Iranian bomb, which Israel won’t allow”

IDF chief says he’s ordered fresh military plans to thwart Iran’s nuke program

by Judah Ari Gross
January 26, 2021

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi on Tuesday said he has directed the military to prepare fresh operational plans to strike Iran to block its nuclear program “Iran can decide that it wants to advance to a bomb, either covertly or in a provocative way. In light of this basic analysis, I have ordered the IDF to prepare a number of operational plans, in addition to the existing ones. We are studying these plans and we will develop them over the next year,” Kohavi said. READ MORE

No, ‘Jewish Supremacism’ Does Not Define Israel
by Dexter Van Zile
January 26, 2021

Newly elected U.S. President Joseph Biden is reportedly preparing to hit the reset button with the Palestinian Authority, whose President Mahmoud Abbas severed ties with the Trump administration over the move of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem in 2017. According to the Times of Israel, which covered the impending reset late last year, relations were also strained by disagreement over the so-called pay-to-slay program that pays stipends to the families of terrorists who had killed Israeli civilians…Regardless of what one thinks of these policies, it is clear they present a new lease on life for so called peace and justice organizations in the United States and Israel. READ MORE

#Holocaust remembrance: “Participants from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Saudi Arabia joined viewers from North America, Europe and Israel in more personal kind of diplomacy”

In a first, Arab-initiated event commemorates the Holocaust in wake of Abraham Accords
by Eliana Rudee
January 27, 2021

In the wake of the Abraham Accords and in honor of International Holocaust Memorial Day on Jan. 27, individuals from the group Sharaka held an event to memorialize victims of the Holocaust and to promote an action plan for Holocaust awareness and combating anti-Semitism. According to Sharaka (“partnership” in Arabic), this week’s event was the first-ever initiative to commemorate the Holocaust, bringing together Arab leaders in the Middle East. Participants from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Saudi Arabia—some of whom participated in Sharaka’s tour of Israel in December, which marked many of their first experiences learning about the Holocaust—were joined by viewers from North America, Europe and Israel. NATIONAL AFFAIRS Ruth R. Wisse: The Dark Side of Holocaust Education But is there any evidence that Holocaust education decreases hatred of the Jews among those Americans who are susceptible to it? In reality, anti-Semitism in the United States has spread in tandem with increased teaching about the Holocaust. And there is really no sound theoretical underpinning for this expanding educational initiative.

JEWISH JOURNAL Micha Danzig: If “Never Again” Means Something, It Must Go Hand-in-Hand With “Never Forget” Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day….As a person who is active on social media and in writing articles about both Israel and anti-Semitism, I often hear from anti-Semites and Israel-haters (I know, I am being redundant) that Jews “talk too much about the Holocaust.”

Biden administration needs to send a consistent message to the Iranian regime about its misbehavior

BLOOMBERG
Biden’s First Foreign Policy Blunder Could Be on Iran
by Eli Lake
January 21, 2021

President Joe Biden has done a good job so far of calming the anxieties of allies that the U.S. will rush into negotiations to re-enter the flawed 2015 nuclear deal with Iran. Appointing Robert Malley as special envoy to Iran could change that….So it’s strange that, according to the Jewish Insider, Biden is considering Robert Malley, the former Middle East director for Barack Obama’s National Security Council, to be his special envoy to Iran. Unlike Sullivan, Blinken and for that matter Biden himself, Malley seems to believe that engagement with rogues is the only way to tame them. READ MORE

FREE BEACON Top Iranian Official Celebrates Biden’s Rumored Iran Envoy A top Iranian official is celebrating President Joe Biden’s rumored selection of Robert Malley as his envoy to Iran, offering praise for the new administration as it seeks to reenter the 2015 nuclear accord. Hesamodin Ashna, a senior adviser to Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, “welcomed Robert Malley’s selection,” saying late last week that it “conveys a clear message about an efficient approach to resolving the conflict quickly and effectively,” according to a translation of his Farsi-language remarks carried in Iran’s state-controlled press.

AIPAC Response to NBC News’ Charge of Dual Loyalty

AIPAC
Brian Shankman, Director of Regional Affairs and Development
January 28, 2021

Earlier today, NBC News posted an article challenging whether a longtime AIPAC member could be trusted with a security position in the Biden administration due to her support for Israel. The charge of dual loyalty has a long and disturbing anti-Semitic history. It has been used for generations to question the patriotism of pro-Israel Americans and undermine our rights. It is a targeted accusation that our community cannot be trusted, and that we are unlike other Americans. It is inexcusable for a major news outlet to perpetuate this offensive charge. Tonight, we posted this tweet in response to the story:

NBC News must retract this offensive story. Charges of dual loyalty are anti-Semitic and insult millions of Americans—Jewish and non-Jewish—who stand by our ally Israel.  We will not be deterred from exercising our rights as citizens to advocate for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship.

NBC NEWS Foundation linked to Biden pick for cybersecurity gave $500,000 to pro-Israel lobby AIPAC Anne Neuberger was named senior director for cyber policy on the National Security Council. She spent the last decade at the National Security Agency.

Bus driver says 200 rioters ‘tried to lynch me’; blazing vehicle burns through power cables; mayor blames police for violence, is also attacked by crowd

Driver recounts ‘nightmare’ after Haredi mob torches his bus at lockdown protest
January 25 2021
by Staff

Police used stun grenades to clear ultra-Orthodox rioters from the streets of Bnei Brak early Monday after a group attacked two buses, setting one on fire and completely destroying it. The mob pulled a driver from his bus and beat him, lightly injuring him before setting the vehicle on fire. The driver, Eyal Tzipori, told Channel 12 on Monday evening that he had feared for his life. He said he called the police, but waited half-an-hour in vain for them to arrive. He then got off the bus, was attacked, took refuge back in the vehicle, and was ultimately extricated by two paramedics. READ MORE

“The conspiracy theorists of QAnon hold “that the world is run by a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles who are plotting against Mr. Trump”

A scholar of American anti-Semitism explains the hate symbols present during the US Capitol riot
by Jonathan D. Sarna
January 15, 2021

One of the many horrifying images from the Jan. 6 rampage on the U.S. Capitol shows a long-haired, long-bearded man wearing a black “Camp Auschwitz” T-shirt emblazoned with a skull and crossbones, and under it the phrase “work brings freedom” – an English translation of the Auschwitz concentration camp motto: “Arbeit macht frei.” These and related images, captured on television and retweeted on social media, demonstrate that some of those who traveled to Washington to support President Donald Trump were engaged in much more than just a doomed effort to maintain their hero in power. BEGIN-SADAT CENTER Dr Manfred Gerstenfeld: Conspiracy Theories Are an Integral Part of Western Culture The coronavirus pandemic has sparked widespread conspiracy theories. Such theories are an integral part of contemporary Western culture, even in places that are purportedly enlightened. The irrational elements in Western society are very significant, and it will take serious study to begin to understand the many ways in which this irrationality affects Western attitudes.

How far will Biden go to please the Left?

REAL CLEAR POLITICS
Biden’s Biggest Decision
by Charles Lipson
January 25, 2021

Joe Biden’s new administration faces a murderers’ row of hard decisions on everything from controlling the Southern border to dealing with Iran. But one choice dominates all of them: Does Biden intend to govern from the center-left or to make more far-reaching concessions to his party’s progressive wing? Biden’s nominations and early executive orders suggest he wants to govern from the center-left, but his “sweet spot” will be much more progressive than President Obama’s because the Democratic Party has kept moving steadily left. How will President Biden resolve tensions between his party’s left wing and its establishment-corporate center? His first day in office showed one way. READ MORE
