If taken seriously, Beinart’s solution could lead to a final solution

Peter Beinart’s one-state solution
by Clifford D. May
July 14, 2020

Peter Beinart is at it again. If you don’t know to whom I’m referring you might count yourself lucky, not bother to read the paragraphs that follow, and pick up a summer novel instead. For those not dissuaded: Mr. Beinart is a writer and TV commentator who has long wished to be regarded as a bold thinker, someone who says what lesser men dare not – though nothing that could possibly trigger the exquisite sensitivities of those who identify as “woke.” In a profile written ten years ago, Andrew Ferguson judged Mr. Beinart “one of the most energetic careerists anyone has ever seen,” adding: “What makes Beinart’s campaign of self-promotion conspicuous – week after week, year after year – is its utter lack of inhibition. There’s a kind of insouciance to it.” READ MORE

by Shiryn Ghermezian
July 13, 2020

After antisemitic Twitter accounts began posting tweets on Sunday with the hashtag “JewishPrivilege,” comedian Sarah Silverman and other Jewish social media users pushed back by using the hashtag to share their experiences with Jew-hatred. Far-right and white supremacist Twitter users posted the hashtag as they tweeted about Holocaust denial, claims of Israel committing genocide and conspiracy theories involving Jewish world domination and control of the media. The UK-based Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) explained, “The idea that Jews are a ‘privileged’ group is a slur designed to deny that antisemitism exists and to imply that Jews are a cause of racism towards other minorities.” READ MORE

As the U.S. undergoes a “civil war” or “civic war” of cultural and physical attacks from the Reds (anarchists, communists, socialists), often joined by Greens (Islamists), designed to undermine our Constitution and Bill of Rights, those of us who believe in traditional American values cannot stand by. We must counter-attack. Here are ten logical responses in defense of our values which created the most successful country in the history of the world…READ MORE

“Blast at Iran centrifuge assembly facility may have set back development by 2 years, experts tell the NY Times”

TIMES OF ISRAEL
Israel’s alleged Natanz strike ‘as complex as Stuxnet,’ a major blow to Iran
by Staff
July 10, 2020

An alleged Israeli attack on an advanced centrifuge development and assembly plant at Iran’s Natanz uranium enrichment facility exhibited the complexity of the Stuxnet virus that sabotaged Iranian enrichment centrifuges a decade ago, experts and analysts said in a new report Friday. Officials with knowledge of the blast at Natanz last week told The New York Times that it was most likely the result of a bomb planted at the facility…Others asserted that the latest alleged attacks indicated an emergent strategy by Israel and the US — also including Washington’s assassination of top general Qassem Soleimani earlier this year — to carry out covert strikes that will hamper Iran’s regional and nuclear objectives…READ MORE

Has Israel infiltrated Hamas’s military wing?
by Khaled Abu Toameh
July 11, 2020

A senior commander of Hamas’s military wing, Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, has reportedly fled the Gaza Strip amid suspicions that he had been collaborating with Israel, Palestinian sources said on Saturday. The man, who headed Hamas’s commando frogman unit, fled the Strip aboard an IDF boat, the sources told the Palestinian news website Amad. They said that the senior Hamas commander took with him a laptop containing “dangerous classified information” about the group’s frogman unit, as well as sums of money and eavesdropping devices that were in his possession. “Beinart is a smart guy; he knows that for his readers to buy his thesis, it is important that they not know very much”

TIMES OF ISRAEL
End the Jewish State? Let’s try some honesty, first
by Daniel Gordis
July 8, 2020

…About what do we [Peter Beinart and myself] agree? I share Peter’s deep frustration over the plight of Palestinian Arabs. I, too, worry about racism in Israeli society. I, too, want something big to change here. I also think that the status quo is not tenable for the long run. Yet we also disagree about a great deal. He thinks that Israeli ethnic cleansing of the West Bank is likely; I think (and pray) that is it essentially unthinkable. He discounts the threat of Palestinian terror; I suspect that, living in Jerusalem, it is more of an issue for me than it is for him on the Upper West Side. READ MORE

ALGEMEINER Peter Beinart’s One-State Call Earns Praise of Israel-Hater Linda Sarsour

TABLET MAG Benjamin Kirstein: The Jews of Privilege Peter Beinart thinks Jews don’t need Zionism. That’s because he’s never needed it himself…To a great extent, Beinart’s arguments are desperately boring, as the racist argument is as old as Zionism itself, and is repeated ad nauseum throughout the international media and institutions of higher education—but the basic points are worth reiterating. Beinart writes, “It’s time to abandon the traditional two-state solution and embrace the goal of equal rights for Jews and Palestinians. It’s time to imagine a Jewish home that is not a Jewish state.

J Street, If Not Now among groups urging Biden not to appoint BDS critics on security jobs
July 8, 2020

J Street and If Not Now, two left-leaning Jewish groups, were among the signatories of a letter to Joe Biden urging him not to appoint Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement critics to national security and foreign policy jobs. The letter, dated Tuesday, was signed by 31 advocacies and said Biden, as the presumptive Democratic nominee, had a chance to achieve a “fundamental re-envisioning of the United States’ role in the world.” To do so, however, he would have to get all the right people on key national security and foreign policy positions, the letter warned, offering some ideas as to what the selection criteria could be.
