“West Bank settlements are still seen by many as an obstacle to peace with Palestinians, but newcomers say they are motivated less by politics than by economics and lifestyle”

‘It’s So Easy to Live Here.’ Jewish Settlements Go Mainstream in Israel
by Felicia Schwartz
November 10, 2019

When the Jewish settlers who founded this town scouted the land in 1978, they chose a rocky outcrop where Palestinian villagers warned nothing would grow. It was called the Mountain of Death. “They thought we were crazy,” said Dorith Nachman, 70 years old, recalling the reaction when she, her husband and other Jewish Israelis erected tents on the hillside. Ariel’s founders used to administer a psychological questionnaire to incoming families to ensure they could tough it out. It wasn’t just the natural environment that was harsh. “The hostility of the American Left to Israel goes back to Soviet policy during the Cold War years”

AMERICAN GREATNESS
Warren Promises to Divide Jerusalem, Fund Terrorists
by Karin McQuillan
November 10, 2019

Democrat presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders were the star speakers at the national conference of J Street, a woke anti-Israel (verging on anti-Semitic) group, which met last week in Washington, D.C. Our two socialist candidates, sharing the podium with terrorists, are competing to see who can top the other in betraying our ally, Israel, and promoting Palestinian terrorism. Warren addressed the audience by a video, in which she promised to divide Jerusalem. “Both parties should be able to have their capitals in Jerusalem,” she declared. READ MORE

“To defeat the Islamist, Communist and Socialist threats to the United States, we must adopt the Cold War model, according to which war is a marathon, not a sprint”

The ‘endless war’ is inevitable – and winnable
by Ken Abramowitz
November 7, 2019

People and organizations within and beyond Washington, DC, public policy circles, including US President Donald Trump, have expressed grave concern at the possibility that the United States is engaged in “endless wars.” Practically since the birth of the United States of America, various ideologies have waged war against us. For the Islamists (Muslim supremacists), this was but a continuation of their – at that time – uninterrupted 1,200-year war against non-Muslims everywhere, and Muslims whose version of the faith they didn’t agree with. It wasn’t until President Thomas Jefferson decided to stand up to the endless, unprovoked, savage assaults against US trade vessels by the Barbary pirates that violent jihadist acts against us stopped – for a while. “One of the few points of unbounded bipartisan agreement in Washington has for decades been that U.S.-Israel security cooperation is right, good, mutually beneficial, and worth every nickel”

U.S.-Israel Security Cooperation Is A Win-Win
by Shoshana Bryen
November 6, 2019

…Israel’s missile defense capabilities — developed and produced in conjunction with American industry — not only protect Israel from Hamas and Hezbollah missiles, but protect the United States from emerging threats from North Korea and Iran. Various branches of the U.S. military have purchased a variety of Israeli-developed systems and participated in joint development of anti-tunnel defenses, the Arrow Missile Program, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Plane, THEL Laser Program, the Advanced Urban Combat Training Facility, as well as Iron Dome. “Israel is bracing itself for war with Iranian proxies, as Tehran escalates its provocations. But what will the United States do if conflict comes?”

THE ATLANTIC
The Coming Middle East Conflagration
by Michael Oren
November 4, 2019

The senior ministers of the Israeli government met twice last week to discuss the possibility of open war with Iran. They were mindful of the Iranian plan for a drone attack from Syria in August, aborted at the last minute by an Israeli air strike, as well as Iran’s need to deflect attention from the mass protests against Hezbollah’s rule in Lebanon. The ministers also reviewed the recent attack by Iranian drones and cruise missiles on two Saudi oil installations, reportedly concluding that a similar assault could be mounted against Israel from Iraq. NY POST Iran admits case of Robert Levinson, ex-FBI agent missing since 2007, is ‘ongoing’ A former FBI agent who many had given up for dead may in fact still be alive. Robert A. Levinson’s case is currently “ongoing,” Iran admitted in a United Nations filing, The Associated Press reported on Saturday. It is the first time the country has acknowledged the existence of a legal case in its Revolutionary Court surrounding Levinson, who vanished in 2007 after being apprehended on Iran’s Kish Island, the wire service reported.

Jewish umbrella group condemns candidates’ calls to put conditions on Israel aid
by Marcy Oster
November 5, 2019

An umbrella group of more than 50 Jewish organizations from across the ideological spectrum condemned calls by Democratic presidential candidates to condition military aid to Israel on its approach to making peace with the Palestinians. “We are deeply troubled by recent statements that would place conditions, limitations, or restrictions on the U.S. security assistance provided to Israel, so vital for the defense and security of the country, the protection of essential U.S. interests, and stability in the region,” READ MORE

FDR manipulated Rabbi Stephen Wise to “keep the Jews quiet”

TIMES OF ISRAEL
Historian: New evidence shows FDR’s bigotry derailed many Holocaust rescue plans
by Matt Lebovic
November 4, 2019

Not only was US president Franklin Roosevelt perfunctory about rescuing Jews from the Nazis, but he obstructed rescue opportunities that would have cost him little or nothing, according to Holocaust historian Rafael Medoff. FDR’s role in preventing the rescue of European Jewry is detailed in a new book called, “The Jews Should Keep Quiet: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, and the Holocaust.” Published in September through The Jewish Publication Society, Medoff’s book includes new archival materials about the relationship between Roosevelt and Rabbi Stephen Wise, who the author sees as a sycophantic Jewish leader used by Roosevelt to “keep the Jews quiet.” READ MORE

Trump Republican challenger Joe Walsh: “I would push for a one-state solution from Jordan to the Mediterranean. The two-state solution is a fallacy. It’s a pipe dream”

GOP presidential primary challenger Joe Walsh vows to be ‘more pro-Israel’ than Trump

by Jackson Richman
November 8, 2019

Once a staunch pro-Israel Illinois congressman between 2011 and 2013, Joe Walsh launched this past summer a long-shot Republican primary challenge to U.S. President Donald Trump, whom many have deemed to be the most pro-Israel figure ever in the White House…”I can tell you what a Joe Walsh peace plan initiative is: I’m not sitting down with the Palestinians until the Palestinians acknowledge that Israel has a right to exist. I’m not talking to the Palestinians until the Palestinians stop teaching children to hate Israel.” READ MORE
