COMMENTARY
Kavanaugh and the Politics of Dehumanization
by Sohrab Ahmari
October 2, 2018

Britt, Brady, Fair, and many other Kavanaugh opponents in mainstream liberal institutions are engaging in a brand of politics that denies fairness, courtesy, and dignity to the enemy. In the eyes of those who would destroy his nomination, Kavanaugh and his family are no longer human beings, if they ever were. Instead, they stand in for every social evil, every unearned privilege, every “structure of oppression,” every historical injustice. The Kavanaughs are political demons. This is the politics of dehumanization, in other words. READ MORE

“Dear liberals: Conservatives are not your enemy. The Left is”

DAILY WIRE
PragerU: Left Or Liberal
by Jacob Airey
September 3, 2018

Dennis Prager, the founder of Prager University, hosts the latest installment from the outlet, titled “Left or Liberal.” He explains and analyzes the divide between leftism and liberalism, a matter of much confusion for conservatives and progressives alike. “What’s the difference between a liberal and a leftist?” asks Prager. “This question stumps most people because they think liberal and left are essentially the same.” He continues, “But they’re not. In fact, liberalism and leftism have almost nothing in common. But the left has appropriated the word “liberal” so effectively almost everyone, liberals, leftists and conservatives, thinks they are synonymous. But they’re not.” READ MORE

UK Home Secretary will announce Hezbollah political wing will be proscribed at next week’s party conference

JEWISH CHRONICLE
UK to finally ban terror group Hezbollah entirely
by Lee Harpin
September 27, 2018

Sajid Javid [Home Secretary of the United Kingdom] is to buttress his tough stance against Islamist extremism by proscribing the Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah in full, the JC can reveal. The Home Secretary will use his speech at next week’s Conservative Party annual conference to announce the move, which has long been called for by the Jewish community and others concerned with terrorism… Since 2008, the UK has banned only Hezbollah’s so-called “armed wing”, leaving Islamists taking part in the annual Al Quds Day March in London to wave the group’s yellow flag and claim to be expressing support only for the terror group’s “political wing”. READ MORE

Trump, SWIFT and Iran

NEW YORK POST
What Trump must do to stop Europe from end-running his Iran sanctions
by Richard Goldberg
September 26, 2018

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani this week refused to meet with President Trump at the United Nations. One of the big reasons: He and his European backers are waiting to see whether Trump will force the SWIFT financial-messaging service to disconnect Iranian banks in November. If Trump doesn’t, he probably won’t ever get that meeting…Every Iranian bank has a SWIFT code, including the Central Bank of Iran. So long as these banks remain connected to the system, a door to sanctions evasion is always left open. READ MORE

JNS At UN, Netanyahu reveals hidden Iranian nuclear site, secret Lebanon missiles In his address at the U.N. General Assembly’s 73rd session on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visual in hand, revealed a hidden Iranian nuclear facility and secret missiles in Lebanon’s capital. Netanyahu said the Iranian warehouse includes technology for Iran’s nuclear initiative, remarking that the Islamic Republic “took this radioactive material and spread it around Tehran like Nutella.”

At the UN: Even with “observer” status #Palestinians are now handed leadership role

i24NEWS Abbas airs Palestinian grievances at UN General Assembly Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas opened his speech to the UN General Assembly on Thursday with a declaration: “Jerusalem is not for sale.” “The Palestinian people’s rights are not up for bargaining,” he added. He went on to say that the Palestinian people have been “suffering” under “Israeli occupation” for over 51 years.

TIMES OF ISRAEL Palestine confirmed to head massive bloc of developing countries at UN  The State of Palestine was formally handed on Thursday the presidency of the Group of 77, the largest bloc of developing nations at the UN…Palestine — which is not a member state of the UN but has observer state status — was chosen in July to head the so-called G77 plus China, a consortium now consisting of 134 nations that often speaks in one voice at the UN General Assembly, starting January 1, 2019

“Ari Fuld’s funeral drove home the fact that Israel is just different from America, no matter how meaningful our Jewish lives there”

TIMES OF ISRAEL
Ari Fuld and my two circles of home
by Sally Abrams
September 27, 2018

…We can live meaningful Jewish lives in America — and we do. We can be passionate Zionists — and we are. But the peoplehood found in Israel cannot be duplicated…The precious few weeks I spend each year in Israel replenish me in a way nothing else can. I’m lucky to be able to do that. When I’m back home in Minnesota I savor with gratitude the abundant blessings of a life lived here. And I have a job to do — to share Israel’s story wherever and whenever I can. To support Israel from my home outside of Israel. READ MORE

“Why Germany seeks to increase trade with a murderous theocracy bent on Israel’s destruction”

TABLET MAG
Angela Merkel’s Ugly Romance With the Iranian Regime
by Benjamin Weinthal
September 25, 2018

The moral and economic danger represented by Merkel’s emergence as Iran’s major champion in Europe has been a kind of secret that dare not speak its name in the media and among the chattering classes in the Federal Republic. A rare exception in a country that does not have the Anglo-American tradition of aggressive investigative reporting was the BILD newspaper’s exposé on a German company that sold material to merchants based in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar. The components were later found in Iranian-produced rockets that contained chemicals used to gas Syrian civilians in January and February of 2018. READ MORE

#EuropeanUnion concludes #Palestinian textbooks “contain, across all subjects, numerous examples of violent depictions, hate speech – in particular against Israel – and glorifications of jihad and martyrdom”

European Parliament Committee Votes to Freeze €15M to PA over
Inciting Textbooks
by Lahav Harkov
September 27, 2018

The European Parliament’s budgetary committee voted to freeze more than 15 million euros from the Palestinian Authority if they do not remove incitement from their textbooks. “The reserve will be released,” the bill reads, “when the Palestinian Authority has committed to reform its school curriculum and textbooks to bring them in line with UNESCO standards for peace and tolerance in school education.” The bill, an amendment to the EU’s draft budget proposed by Budgetary Control Committee chairwoman MEP Dr. Ingeborg Grässle, is expected to go to a plenary vote on October 24. PALESTINIAN MEDIA WATCH PA and Fatah still don’t recognize Israel For more than two decades, Palestinian Media Watch has documented that neither the PA nor Fatah recognize Israel when addressing their own people. In fact, the opposite is true. Both do their utmost to convince Palestinians that all of Israel was, is, and will remain “Palestine.”

“The Handmaid’s Tale appropriates the suffering of women in Muslim countries and uses it to nurture the inflated sense of victimhood of American feminists without ever acknowledging the source”

FRONT PAGE MAG
Hating Men in a Real Life Handmaid’s Tale
by Daniel Greenfield
September 27, 2018

…The Handmaid’s Tale is to postmodern feminists what Birth of a Nation was to white nationalists. Both are fantasies by which the powerful justify their oppression by imagining themselves to be powerless…Margaret Atwood, its author, drew inspiration from the events of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, but she projected the treatment of women in Muslim countries on to “fundamentalist Christians” in America instead. The Hulu show picks up on the abuses inflicted by the Islamic State on women in Iraq and Syria, and once again projects the abuses of Islamic theocracies on to Trump, Republicans and Americans.
