A military court in the Gaza Strip has sentenced several Palestinian Arabs who were convicted of providing information to Israel to be executed by hanging and by firing squad. According to a report in the Ma’an news agency, one of the convicts made contact with Israel at the Erez crossing, where he met with an Israeli intelligence officer who offered him information in exchange for a work permit in Israel. The convict agreed, and began to transmit information about terrorist operatives, their telephone numbers and places of residence, as well as the location of tunnels, communication networks and the location of military posts. As Israel moves toward expected admission into the Visa Waiver Program later this year, a group of 16 Democratic senators suggested in a letter to top administration officials on Wednesday that Israel continues to fall short of the requirements for admission into the program and is unlikely to fix these alleged issues before its expected entry date. Israel has long pursued entry into the program allowing visa-free entry into the United States, but has faced obstacles, including its rejection rate for visa applications and concerns about Israel’s treatment of Palestinian Americans at its borders. U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides said earlier this year that Israel will likely be added to the program in July or August.  READ MORE

This month’s issue of Foreign Affairs included a disgraceful, antisemitic, Israelophobic article entitled “Israel’s One-State Reality.” It calls Israel libelous names without a shred of evidence and then urges the U.S. government to adopt a Jew-haters’ wish list of 14 anti-Israel policies aimed at crushing, weakening, leaving defenseless and annihilating the sole Jewish state.The article is a frightening example of the antisemitic, anti-Israel blood libels and policy prescriptions that have infested the media and too many college political science departments and left-wing think tanks. The article’s authors are three George Washington University professors—Michael Barnett, Nathan Brown and Marc Lynch—and University of Maryland professor Shibley Telhami, who is also a fellow at the Brookings Institution. Police in Berlin have opened a criminal investigation into suspected incitement by Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters following a concert in Berlin in which he dressed in a uniform resembling a Nazi officer, Jewish News reported on Thursday. The investigation was launched after Waters wore a long leather jacket and gloves with a Nazi-like red armband, depicting crossed hammers instead of swastikas, during his concert at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on May 17. Waters also compared Anne Frank to Shireen Abu Aqleh, an Al Jazeera journalist who was shot dead while covering clashes between IDF soldiers and Palestinian Arab terrorist in Jenin last year. AP Improves Coverage on Palestinian Fatalities in Gaza, Balata

CAMERA’s Israel office today prompted improved Associated Press coverage on Palestinian fighters killed earlier this month in the Gaza Strip, along with three more combatants killed early this morning in the West Bank’s Balata refugee camp. Regarding today’s fatalities near Nablus, in both the headline and the lead, AP buried the fact [in the 12th paragraph] that the three were confirmed members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, a fact which the designated terror organization itself confirmed. The uninformative headline, “3 Palestinians killed in Israeli raid in occupied West Bank; U.S. slams latest settlement expansion,” fails to give any indication of the fact that those killed were combatants belonging to a designated terror organization. Among other things, progressives have seized the language of bigotry to demonize non-progressives as bigots while engaging in and promoting bigotry themselves. “Antisemitism” is one of the key terms that has been hijacked. This week, we saw a number of demonstrations of its exploitation at the hands of progressives to demonize those they deem a threat to their political and cultural power. The most discussed demonstration of how the popular term for Jew-hatred has been weaponized is the pile-on against multi-billionaire and free speech champion Elon Musk by supporters of multi-billionaire and progressive political warfare bankroller George Soros.
