When Iran Says ‘Death to Israel,’ It Means It
Behnam Ben Taleblu
July 15, 2022

…Always intended for export, Iran’s Islamic revolution was and remains aided through Tehran’s skillful creation, co-option, and control of terror and proxy groups abroad. What in the 1980s appeared as an array of actors has now matured into a full-fledged alliance system benefiting from Iranian financial, political, and military support. This axis has its own vision of regional order wherein Israel does not exist, rival Muslim powers are cowed, and the American presence is routed or marginalized into irrelevance. While the axis threatens maritime navigation, launches projectiles at civilian centers, and baits and bleeds adversaries, the chief strategic dividends it offers Tehran are insulation from blowback and the masking of Iranian involvement so as  to ensure that the regime can live to fight another day. Iraq, the country that is central to American plans for the region has just formally outlawed normalization with Israel — and made it punishable by death

US and Israel want to unite Middle East against Iran, but Iraq could pose a problem
Ron Kampeas
July 16, 2022

It has become a kind of mantra in Washington and Jerusalem: Integrate much of the Middle East, including Israel, into a single security system to keep Iran in its place…The prospects for an anti-Iran alliance look good. There’s major buy-in from both parties in Congress, the Biden administration is on board and some of Israel’s neighboring Arab nations are at least intrigued, if not enthusiastic. But for strategic purposes, every concept of the alignment includes Iraq, a country that just formally outlawed normalization with Israel — and made it punishable by death. READ MORE

JEWISH INSIDER Lawmakers urge Biden to push back on Iraq’s anti-Israel law during Mideast trip In a letter sent to President Joe Biden on Tuesday ahead of his trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia, which begins tomorrow in Jerusalem, a bipartisan group of 24 House and Senate lawmakers urged the president to make clear U.S. opposition to Iraq’s recently passed law outlawing relations with Israel during his visit.

“For more than 100 years, the Jews of Privilege in both Europe and America have bitterly opposed Zionism”

The Jews of Privilege are the Jews of Amnesia
Benjamin Kerstein
July 18, 2022

Had it not been for a recent article on this site by Lenny Ben-David, I would not have known that Jeremy Ben-Ami, head of the left-wing lobby J Street, has criticized the agenda of U.S. President Joe Biden’s current visit to Israel, and along with it the Abraham Accords and the move by many Arab states to normalize relations with the Jewish state. The J Street head essentially declared normalization meaningless and claimed “there will be no lasting peace” without a Palestinian state. This, of course, is a talking point widely adopted by the anti-Israel left ever since the Abraham Accords were announced. READ MORE

ISRAEL HAYOM American Jewish leaders should lead or get out of the way Four ideological camps foment anti-Jewish bigotry: white nationalists, black nationalists, progressives and Islamists. The BDS movement incites against Jews in the name of Palestinian nationalism and human rights. Critical Race Theory paints Jews as undeservedly privileged whites. “Woke antisemitism” makes Jew-hatred socially acceptable, fashionable and even virtuous.

Twitter Silences Jordan Peterson For Thought Crimes
by Matthew Vadum
July 21, 2022

Courageous truth-teller Jordan Peterson has been suspended from Twitter for daring to express an opinion that opposes the agenda of transgenderism, a take-no-prisoners ideology that he believes threatens the very underpinnings of both our society and Western civilization as a whole. Commentator Lisa Boothe summed up the state of play in recent tweets, which themselves place her in jeopardy of expulsion from Twitter. “The transgender stuff needs to be a red line,” she wrote. “We cannot live in a world of fiction and make believe.” “If they can convince society that dudes can be girls and girls can be dudes, we are officially owned. Down is up and up is down. There is no wrong or right at that point,” Boothe wrote. READ MORE

“Boston is one of the only American cities not to have experienced a double-digit increase in violent crime over two years”

NEW YORK POST
Boston shows New Yorkers what their city could be like
Nicole Gelinas
July 10, 2022

After 904 nights of sleeping in Manhattan’s Midtown West, I took a three-day trip — to exotic, faraway Boston. What I found there was shocking: normalcy. Boston is a liberal city — but it is also a pragmatic city. My 9 a.m. walk down to New York’s Penn Station for my train to Boston was normal — for the new New York. I had to avoid an emotionally disturbed gentleman brandishing a bottle, screaming at people to “get away from me.” (Good advice.) Four hours later, I de-trained in Beantown, dropped my backpack at my hotel, and began a long walk — 21,599 steps. READ MORE

US-Israel agreement includes joint stance against Iran’s nuclear program and regional aggression to ensure Iran never attains a nuclear weapon

Israel, US to declare ‘strategic partnership’ during Biden visit
Lahav Harkov
July 12, 2022

The Jerusalem Declaration of the US-Israel Strategic Partnership will be a centerpiece of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Israel on Wednesday through Friday. The agreement includes a joint stance against Iran’s nuclear program and regional aggression, with both countries saying they will use “all elements of national power” to ensure Iran never attains a nuclear weapon…The declaration states the US plans to follow up on the 10-year $38 billion Memorandum of Understanding on military aid signed with Israel, addressing emerging threats and new developments in the region. Biden needs to share intel, get out of the way and let Israel end Iran nuclear threat
July 13, 2022
Richard Goldberg

President Biden’s private meeting Thursday with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid will likely become one of the most consequential conversations of his presidency. After 18 months of failed diplomacy that allowed Iran to advance its nuclear program to the brink, Washington and Jerusalem face the increasing likelihood that the Iranian threat can only be solved by military means. The president should use his time in Israel to chart a coordinated course to destroy or severely degrade Iran’s nuclear infrastructure…READ MORE

Questions linger after state board closes investigation into Morningstar for anti-Israel bias
Mike Wagenheim
July 14, 2022

An Illinois state board tasked with ensuring that public money is not invested in entities that promote boycotts, divestment or sanctions against the State of Israel has faced criticism in recent weeks over its response to a company found to have anti-Israel bias. In May the law firm White & Case released a report that investigated Morningstar—a Chicago-based financial services firm that provides investment overviews to governments, businesses, and individuals—for potential anti-Israel bias. The report was prompted by the seven-member Illinois Investment Policy Board (IIPB) claiming that one of Morningstar’s acquisitions, Sustainalytics…routinely used problematic criteria and sources that singled-out Israel over human rights abuses, while neglecting serious abuses in other countries. ‘Zionist imam’ who condemns antisemitism gives main Hajj address in Mecca
Batya Jerenberg
July 10, 2022

An imam known for his conciliatory views of Judaism and Christianity aroused fierce controversy in Saudi Arabia when he was chosen to deliver the main address during the hajj Friday in one of Mecca’s most important mosques. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, known by his initials MBS, personally chose Sheikh Dr. Mohammad al-Issa, overcoming the objections of senior clerics who did not want to honor a man whom they feel is too friendly to Jews. Hundreds of others reacted angrily to the choice, including Muslim clerics in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Some said al-Issa shouldn’t be allowed to enter the Namirah Mosque because his contact with Jews made him “impure.” READ MORE

Dershowitz: “The Palestinians could have had a state in 1948, 1967, 2000-2001, 2005 and 2008. They still preferred no Jewish state to a Palestinian state living in peace with Israel”

Why is the Flawed Palestinian Cause So Prominent on the Hard Left?
Alan M. Dershowitz
July 10, 2022

The anti-Israel claims of the Palestinians, though deeply flawed, have become a central part of hard left ideology, especially among those who adhere to so-called intersectionality. Why does the Palestinian cause get so much attention, when there are much more compelling causes around the world such as those of the Kurds, Uyghurs, and other stateless and oppressed people? There are more demonstrations on university campuses against Israel than against Russia, China, Belarus and Iran. Why? The answer has little to do with the Palestinians, and everything to do with Israel, as the nation state of the Jewish people. It is a political manifestation of international antisemitism. It is only because the nation accused of oppressing Palestinians is Israel. READ MORE

The Palestinians have been spitting in the face of the Arab countries, while at the same time expecting these countries to continue funding them.
