Manhattan’s Heschel School was asking fourth-graders “If they were transgender, what would their pronoun be?”

Dad who yanked child from ‘woke’ Manhattan school says others are doing the same
By Natalie O’Neill and Lee Brown

A dad who yanked his daughter from her $43,000-per-year Manhattan private school in outrage over the “woke” teaching of critical race theory says other angry parents are now following his example — as he described the movement as a form of “child abuse.” “Nobody I’ve spoken to believes this is good for children,” Harvey Goldman told The Post Wednesday. “I am personally hearing from a handful of parents who are also pulling their kids out of the school  — and their friends are, too.” Goldman said the Heschel School, on West End Avenue near 60th Street,  has taught inappropriate lessons centering on race and gender, which many parents have no clue about. President Rivlin entrusted Lapid with forming a government on Wednesday; he will have 28 days to build a coalition, concluding on June 2

JERUSALEM POST
Lapid, Bennett hope to form government within a week
by Gil Hoffman
May 5, 2021

Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid and Yamina chairman Naftali Bennett intend to engage in marathon talks to form a unity government beginning Thursday after President Reuven Rivlin announced Wednesday night that he is entrusting Lapid with the second mandate to form a government. Lapid and Bennett wanted to form a government as soon as possible and believe it can be done within a week. They expressed concern that if they did not hurry, their efforts could be harmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose mandate ended Tuesday night without a coalition being formed and who is trying to sabotage the formation of a government that would replace him. ISRAEL HAYOM PM warns of ‘dangerous’ left-wing rule as president picks rival to form government “It … became clear that Yair Lapid has the possibility to form a government that will win parliament’s approval, but there are many difficulties,” President Rivlin says as he taps Yair Lapid with task of forming next government.

ARTUZ SHEVA Shaked: Bennett did everything possible to form a right-wing government Since the election, Naftali and I have worked very hard to form a right-wing government. This has been very, very difficult. It is possible to tell stories and fill the country with spin doctoring, but in the end Netanyahu was unable to form a right-wing government, due to opposition from Sa’ar and Liberman, and because of Bezalel’s stubbornness. From the beginning, Yamina’s seven seats were part of the right-wing bloc, without conditions and without boycotts.

No more perks for Marwan Barghouti in prison, terror victim’s family demand
by Yair Altman
April 30, 2021

Legal advocacy organization Shurat Hadin-Israel Law Center has submitted an urgent request to the heads of the Israel Prison Service demanding Palestinian arch-terrorist Marwan Barghouti be denied visits and other perks. Shurat Hadin submitted the request in the name of the parents of Ronen Landau, who was murdered in a 2001 terrorist attack in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Givat Ze’ev. In the letter, the advocacy group asserted Barghouti, who is currently serving five life sentences, had received excessive and unreasonable benefits that other security prisoners do not have access to due to foreign consideration. They further noted that Barghouti, a popular figure with Palestinians, had either explicitly or in an implied manner been allowed to engage in political activity in the Palestinian Authority from within prison walls and even run in the upcoming Palestinian elections for PA president. Biden administration ‘dead set’ on re-entering Iran deal, despite high price
by Dmitriy Shapiro
May 5, 2021

In recent days, conflicting reports have emerged over the ongoing negotiations in Vienna to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, leading to questions over to what extent the United States will undo Trump-era sanctions against Tehran. Richard Goldberg, a senior adviser at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, as well as an expert on Iran negotiations and sanctions, told JNS that he believes the reports coming out of Iran reflect leaks that the Islamic regime is already declaring victory at the negotiating table with the United States giving into 90 percent to 95 percent of the sanctions relief the Iranians had been seeking. ‘Antisemitic Terrorists Murdered My Brother,’ Claims Sister of Israeli Shot Dead in Baltimore, as Police Say Motive Was Robbery
by Staff
May 5, 2021

The sister of an Israeli man who was shot dead in Baltimore on Sunday has openly disagreed with the preliminary conclusion reached by local police officers that the murder was the result of a robbery, claiming instead that it was motivated by antisemitism and perpetrated by “terrorists.” “This was an act of terror, my brother didn’t just die,” Ella Gordon — the sister of 31-year-old Efraim Gordon, who was visiting the US for a family wedding — told Israel’s Channel 12 on Wednesday. “There were no signs of violence, and they didn’t take money.” Gordon, who lived in the settlement of Na’ale in the West Bank, had returned to the Baltimore residence where he was staying at around midnight on Sunday. As he walked to the home from his car, Gordon was “ambushed by three terrorists,” his sister claimed. READ MORE

Antisemite of the Week: Omar Shakir – Bigot with a Vengeance
May 1, 2021

Omar Shakir is the Israel and Palestine “Country” Director at Human Rights Watch (HRW), a multimillion-dollar international non-governmental organization that purportedly conducts research and advocacy on human rights. With a $76M budget and not fully transparent funding, HRW major donors include the Open Society Institute, Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the Oak Foundation, among others. Despite countless atrocities and human rights violations around the world, HRW’s primary focus is on vilifying the State of the Jewish people, Israel. HWW played a major role in the creation of the eventually discredited Goldstone report, submitting numerous statements to the commission equating Israel to Hamas and falsely accusing Israel of “willfully” killing civilians. Shtisel and Judaism: Three Themes in Season 3
by Ruchi Koval
May 1, 2021

Season 3 is out, Shtisel fans, and if you’re anything like me, you devoured it just as quickly as you could. Shtisel, in case you’re living under a hunk of Jerusalem stone, is the Israeli family drama that follows the lives of an ultra-Orthodox family living in Jerusalem. It covers many human themes such as love, loss, belonging, forgiveness, power, honesty, and faith. What it does so well is capture these oft-stereotyped groups of Jews as real people struggling with human issues, just like everyone else. What it also does so well is bring issues of Judaism and Jewish belief to the surface to be examined and considered with unprecedented reach. READ MORE

Hundreds in Ukraine attend marches celebrating Nazi SS soldiers, including in Kyiv for the 1st time
by Cnaan Liphshiz
May 3, 2021

Hundreds of Ukrainians attended marches celebrating Nazi SS soldiers, including the first such event in Kyiv. The so-called Embroidery March took place in the capital on April 28, the 78th anniversary of the establishment of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, also known as the 1st Galician. It was a force set up under German occupation auspices comprised of ethnic Ukrainian and German volunteers and conscripts. The marchers held banners displaying the unit’s symbol. The Kyiv march by about 300 people was an import from the western city of Lviv, which for several years has hosted such events. READ MORE
