#IslamicTerror The two beheadings, barely a month apart, “represent a turning point in France’s struggle to define and defend itself in the middle of a continuing Islamist terror wave that began almost a decade ago”

France’s Anti-Islamist Crackdown Continues After Schoolteacher Is Beheaded in Paris
by Vladislav Davidzon
October 22, 2020

On Oct. 16, a heinous act of barbarism was committed in the Parisian suburb of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. Samuel Paty, a 47-year-old public school teacher of history and geography—by all accounts a gentle man—was beheaded after being stabbed numerous times. The crime for which Paty was brutally decapitated was delivering a civics lecture on the importance of freedom of speech and religion to his students and showing them cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. He is reported to have given his Muslim students an opportunity to leave the room or to close their eyes while he displayed a copy of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. READ MORE

GATESTONE Giulio Meotti: Western Lives Matter: Teacher Beheaded in Paris Western Lives Matter. We should ask all the journalists, the politicians, the clerics, the people of the street, to kneel for Samuel Paty. This French school teacher was the victim of the most ferocious racism that circulates today in Western democracies, that of fundamentalist beliefs against “infidels”. The Chechen terrorist, after beheading Paty, called him a “dog”. “In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful…,” the terrorist wrote after the attack, “Macron, the leader of the infidels, I executed one of your dogs who dared to belittle Muhammad…”.

by Staff
October 22, 2020

The proportion of the global Jewish population who reside in Europe has fallen below 10 percent according to a new report issued this week — the lowest Jewish population level on the continent in almost 900 years. “At the time of writing, the proportion of Jews residing in Europe is about the same as it was at the time of the first Jewish global population account conducted by Benjamin of Tudela, a Jewish medieval traveler, in 1170,” stated the report, published by the Institute for Jewish Policy Research (JPR), a London-based think tank. The Mideast “can no longer remain captive to the destructive ideas of extremists who view history as a continuum of inevitable conflict”

TIMES OF ISRAEL
An Emirati perspective on the UAE-Israel peace agreement
by Lea Suissa
October 19, 2020

…The UAE pursues the interests of its people in all circumstances. It views the normalization of the UAE’s relationship with Israel as a breakthrough that will open significant opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships in the economy, trade, health, technology, and education. The two countries have immense potential, capabilities, and ambitions, and the peace agreement demonstrates the UAE’s confidence in its policies even if some detractors see otherwise. The nation’s long-term interest is the sole guiding principle of UAE leadership’s decisions. The youth, who constitute a majority of the region’s population, aspire for development and jobs. “The Palestinian Authority no longer hides its disdain for President Trump and openly hopes for Joe Biden’s victory in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections”

JERUSALEM CENTER FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS
The Palestinians’ View of the U.S. Elections
by Yoni Ben Menachem
October 19, 2020

Four difficult years have passed for the PA and its leader since President Trump took office. Senior Fatah sources say that in recent days the color has returned to the cheeks of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas following the publication of polls in the United States indicating that former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden is leading by a wide margin over President Trump in the presidential race. The Palestinians find themselves in one of their most difficult periods – a near-complete disconnection of the Palestinian leadership with the U.S. administration, a reluctance by the European Union to confront the Trump administration over the Palestinian issue, and the disengagement of Arab states from the Palestinian Authority and its leader. Yet the blame for all these failures lies with the Palestinians. READ MORE

GATESTONE Khaled AbuToameh: Palestinians: What Failure Looks Like When Arabs such as Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz denounce Palestinian leaders as “failures,” they are specifically referring to financial corruption, divisions among the Palestinians, ingratitude toward Arab countries that supported them financially and politically, and the many missed opportunities to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Jordan Peterson is back after a year of illness, and his timing could not be better

UNHERD
The world needs Jordan Peterson more than ever
by Douglas Murray
October 23, 2020

The world needs Jordan Peterson. That may sound like the statement of a fan or a friend — and I am both — but it is also a fact illustrated by the sheer numbers who come to him seeking guidance and help. There has been no other public intellectual in recent years who has attracted the kind of following Peterson has. His book, 12 Rules for Life, sold by the millions; his speaking events drew thousands of attendees, night after night, in cities across the world, in what became a gruelling schedule for Peterson. And this was not some top-down publicity-led phenomenon: it was a grass-roots movement in which readers and viewers gravitated towards the Canadian academic. READ MORE

Come election day, Beverly Hills fears “Proud Boys and Q-Anon” not the arsonists and looters who terrorized them in June

Beverly Hills prepares for doomsday
by Danielle Berrin
October 23, 2020

Beverly Hills is afraid. Very afraid. Two weeks ahead of what may prove the most contentious election in American history, rumors and fears of mass civil unrest are swirling through Beverly Hills’ lavish neighborhoods, leaving residents feeling spooked and uneasy. “If I buy a gun, can I get training from the police department?” a male resident asked a Beverly Hills Police Department official during an Oct. 20 town hall Zoom meeting. Foreboding was the prevailing mood at the event organized by the BH Flats Neighborhood Watch, which drew more than 100 angsty residents eager to hear the city’s plans for staving off election-week “civil unrest, chaos and crime,” as one participant put it. US instituted sanctions as other JCPOA signatories (our “allies” in the war on terror) rejected extending embargo

JERUSALEM POST
UN arms embargo on Iran ends
by Lahav Harkov and Seth J. Frantzman
October 18, 2020

The UN arms embargo on Iran expired after 13 years on Sunday, as the signatories of the Iran Deal refused to cooperate with US efforts to extend it. In light of the US triggering “snapback sanctions” meant to stop the restrictions on Iran from expiring, “virtually all UN sanctions on Iran returned, including reimposition of the UN arms embargo,” US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on September 19. However, the other parties to the Iran deal did not accept the American move as valid. Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif called it “a momentous day for the international community, which, in defiance of malign US efforts, has protected” the Iran deal. READ MORE

The Israeli diplomats under cover in Bahrain “all had cover stories, backed up by unconvincing LinkedIn profiles”

AXIOS
Israel’s secret embassy in Bahrain
by Barak Ravid
October 20, 2020

Israel has been conducting undercover diplomacy in Bahrain for more than a decade through a front company listed as a commercial consulting firm…The existence of the covert diplomatic mission in the Bahraini capital Manama shows the depth of a secret relationship that came out into the open with a White House ceremony last month. The existence of the secret diplomatic office remained under an Israeli government gag order for 11 years. A short report about it appeared on Israel’s Channel 11 news last week…On July 13, 2009, a company named “The Center for International Development” was registered in Bahrain. It was a front, providing cover for Israeli diplomacy. READ MORE

“Many Jews believe that the only way to maintain their standing as liberals, guilty of white privilege, is to back Black Lives Matter”

AMERICANS FOR PEACE AND TOLERANCE
New APT video analyzes the Black Lives Matter organization’s attitude to Jews and Zionism
October 18, 2020

These are anxious times: the arc of justice is not bending our way. We are witnessing the demise of a liberal culture, and its replacement by a radical and hostile culture. This emerging movement claims to advance fairness, justice, and righting historical wrongs; but its actions are doing the opposite. Sadly, it’s hard for Jews not to be fooled by good intentions. America’s Jews, who have been in the forefront of the struggles for black civil rights, now face a serious dilemma. While the slogan “Black Lives Matter” is a justified plea for equal treatment and a passionate commitment to the well-being of our black fellow Americans, significant elements within the Black Lives Matter leadership pose a threat to the Jewish community.
