#UnitedNations transnational bureaucrats now do Beijing’s bidding

The Demoralization of the U.N.
by Clifford May
November 17, 2021

For decades, the United Nations has wasted billions of dollars, achieved little, and tolerated misconduct – the Oil-for-Food scandal and sexual exploitation by U.N. peacekeepers to take just two examples. The U.N.’s failures have not led to serious reform, and the U.N.’s misdeeds have not led to serious penalties. Nevertheless, its bank accounts are endlessly replenished, with American taxpayers contributing the lion’s share. But the transnational bureaucrats who run the organization do respond to some outside influences. In particular, China’s rulers have been increasingly successfully at commandeering multilateral agencies to further their unilateral ambitions.I’m going to give you one example which I hope will make clear the depth and extent to which the U.N. has been demoralized – in the most literal sense. “Given the Biden administration’s near-obsessive determination to open a consulate to the Palestinians in Jerusalem, it’s just a matter of time before it presents an offer it believes Israel will be unable to refuse”

Israel Should Not Let the U.S. Reopen its Palestinian Consulate in Jerusalem: The damage will be irreversible.
by Caroline Glick
November 16, 2021

…If Israel approves the Biden administration’s request to open a U.S. consulate in Jerusalem, it will undercut its greatest achievement during the Trump presidency — U.S. recognition of Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem. By opening a consulate to the Palestinians in Jerusalem, the United States will effectively abrogate U.S. recognition of Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem and transfer that recognition to the Palestinians. Israeli approval of the United States’ request will automatically be interpreted by everyone as an Israeli renunciation of Israel’s sovereign rights to Jerusalem…The Biden administration is asking Israel to permit the United States to subvert Israel’s sovereign rights and control over Jerusalem by giving the Palestinians the power to challenge and undermine all aspects of Israel’s municipal and national operations in Jerusalem, with American backing. #HuwaidaArraf campaign comes “as anti-Semites gain a foothold in the #DemocraticParty”

FREE BEACON
Organizer of 2010 Gaza Flotilla Launches Congressional Campaign
by Matthew Foldi
November 11, 2021

An anti-Israel activist who helped organize the 2010 flotilla of ships to the Gaza Strip and was the lawyer for a Palestinian terrorist who killed two Jewish college students is running for Congress as a Democrat in Michigan. Huwaida Arraf, who this week launched her campaign based on her record of “fighting injustice” on the world stage, is an activist lawyer who cofounded the International Solidarity Movement, which encourages anti-Israel activists to take “direct action” to force confrontations with Israeli forces. Arraf has used her status as an American citizen to protect Palestinian terrorists, including during the infamous 2010 flotilla to Gaza that was blocked by the Israeli military. READ MORE

“Neither Atzmon’s reputation for antisemitism nor the copious antisemitic filth that fills The Wandering Who? has deterred #UniversityOfChicago Professors John Mearsheimer and Brian Leitner from endorsing Atzmon’s work”

GATESTONE
Anti-Semitism at the University of Chicago
by Alan M. Dershowitz
November 10, 2021

It is an honor to be attacked or mocked by anti-Semites or enablers of anti-Semitism. As a frequent target of such bigots, I generally ignore their garbage. But when the enablers are professors at a distinguished university, it is essential to expose them and respond. The University of Chicago has two professors who fit into this sordid category. To understand why the shoe fits, we must go back to the publication a few years ago of an overtly anti-Semitic book, The Wandering Who, by an admitted Jew-hater named Gilad Atzmon. Atzmon declared himself a “proud, self-hating Jew,” with “contempt” for “the Jew in me.” His writings both online and in his book brim with classic anti-Semitic motifs borrowed from Nazi publications. “Chicago was one of the many cities that saw a surge in homicides in the past year, and University of Chicago was not immune from that violence”

Students at University of Chicago discover the folly of abolishing the police
by Zachary Faria
November 18, 2021

It isn’t just Democrat-run cities that have learned how ridiculous their embrace of “defund the police” has been. Now, students at the University of Chicago are learning that reality isn’t as rosy as the utopia in their heads. Students there protested , demanding more campus police and better campus security after the shooting death of recent graduate Shaoxiong “Dennis” Zheng. Zheng was killed near campus on a Tuesday afternoon, and he is the third University of Chicago student killed this year. Students at the university had a far different tone just one year ago. Starting on Aug 29., students occupied a block outside of Provost Ka Yee Lee’s home for one week to try and pressure the university to disband the University of Chicago’s Police Department. “If Israel corroborates its charges, the six NGOs should be designated as terrorist charities here in America”

NEWSWEEK
American NGOs Rally Behind Groups Accused by Israel of Terrorism
by David May and Jonathan Schanzer
November 4, 2021

A battle is raging over Israel’s declaration that six Palestinian non-governmental organizations (NGO) are fronts for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a U.S.-designated terrorist group. Several American NGOs are lashing out at Israel for the move. But they are skating on thin ice. Some of them have worked closely with the six NGOs in question. And if Israel’s accusations prove to be true, they could find themselves in hot water. The PFLP has been listed on the State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations since 1997. JERUSALEM CENTER FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS Israel’s Designation of Six Terrorism-Linked NGOs Was in Full Accordance with International Law On October 22, 2021, Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz designated six Palestinian NGOs as terror organizations that are linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The PFLP is recognized as a terrorist organization by Israel, the EU, the United States, and other countries, as it was involved in airplane hijackings in the 1970s, attacks against Israelis in the Second Intifada, the 2014 murder of five Israeli worshippers at a synagogue in Jerusalem, and many more attacks on Jews world-wide.

Africa attack foiled; Iran has been seeking to harm Israel or Israelis at sea, using cyberattacks and overseas attacks

JERUSALEM POST
Mossad thwarts Iranian attacks on Israelis in Africa
by Yonah Jeremy Bob
November 7, 2021

The Mossad has thwarted multiple attacks by Iran against Israeli tourists and businessmen in at least three African countries, Channel 12 reported on Sunday night. According to the report, the targets were Israelis visiting Tanzania, Senegal and Ghana. Five suspects, all with African passports, have reportedly been arrested. Iran has been seeking to harm Israel or Israelis – at sea, using cyberattacks and by attacking Israelis overseas. There is an ongoing shadow war between the countries going back decades, but Iranian efforts spiked since November 2020, after the Islamic Republic’s top nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, was assassinated, allegedly by the Mossad. Haley to AIPAC: “If you make bipartisanship your whole reason for existence, then you lose sight of the policies you’re fighting for in the first place”

THE JEWISH PRESS
Nikki Haley Attacks AIPAC for Taking Bipartisanship Too Far
by David Israel
November 7, 2021

Former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, who is considered a top runner for the Republican party’s presidential nomination in 2024, on Saturday night told the crowd at the Republican Jewish Coalition annual leadership conference in Las Vegas that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is taking its outreach to Democrats too far. “There’s one thing I don’t get about AIPAC, and I’m not saying anything to you that I haven’t said to their leadership,” Haley told the RJC crowd, after saying that she loved AIPAC: “Why do they invite politicians to their conference who strongly support the Iran nuclear deal? Stop rewarding bad behavior. It only gets you more bad behavior,” she said. READ MORE

“Rabbis Gottschalk and Zimmerman are among six prominent former male employees of seminary to be named in report”

6 men and a ‘good old boys’ culture harmed students at Reform movement’s rabbinical school, report concludes
by Philissa Cramer and Asaf Shalev
November 9, 2021

Sexual harassers led the Reform movement’s rabbinical school for more than three decades, according to an explosive new report commissioned by the school. Rabbi Alfred Gottschalk, the president and then chancellor of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion from 1971 to 1996, and his successor, Rabbi Sheldon Zimmerman, who served until 2000, both harassed and assaulted women at the seminary, according to the report. While the allegations that led to Zimmerman’s suspension in 2000 had broken into public view earlier this year, Gottschalk had never before been named in public allegations. READ MORE
