On Aug. 28, a full-page advertisement was published in The New York Times to endorse Black Lives Matter. Claiming to represent “the majority of American Jews,” the ad not only proclaimed support for the “Black Lives Matter” message – the pursuit of racial justice, freedom and safety for Blacks – which the vast majority of American Jewish communities strongly support, but for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement – a framework encompassing different entities about which many American Jews are more apprehensive. The ad celebrated the larger movement as America’s “current day Civil Rights Movement” and the “best chance at equity and justice.” Spearheaded by radical-left and pro-BDS groups like Bend the Arc and Jewish Voice for Peace, the ad purported to represent Jewish organizations from across the spectrum “speaking in one voice”to support the BLM movement. When Ryan Sherriff took the mound for the Tampa Bay Rays in the top of the seventh inning on Friday night to face the Los Angeles Dodgers and pitched a scoreless inning, little did he know what type of exclusive group he was about to join. Sherriff added his name to a club that Sandy Koufax belongs to – a Jewish Hall of Fame pitcher featured in the World Series. And one whose maternal grandparents, Helen and Seymour Wildfeuer, were Holocaust survivors to boot. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was attacked by a mob of anti-Trump activists on Sunday, during a pro-Trump rally in Manhattan. According to reports, members of the far-left Antifa movement gathered at the corner of 5th Avenue and 59th Street to protest the “Jews for Trump” caravan passing through the city. Videos posted on social media show Antifa protesters hurling epithets at the caravan, with some directing their vitriol at the former mayor. “F*** you, Rudy,” one man screamed. Other protesters were seen throwing eggs at the caravan, including Giuliani’s vehicle, while one person was filmed ripping off a pro-police “Back the Blue” flag from one of the vehicles in the caravan. Israel’s underground anti-tunnel barrier and detection system passed an important test this week when the Israel Defense Forces announced that for the first time, the barrier’s sensors alerted the military that a Gazan cross-border attack tunnel had come close. Within little time, IDF engineering forces were able to locate the tunnel, which was dug by Hamas. It appears as if the terror organization that runs the Gaza Strip may have been trying to probe the new barrier, which is nearing completion, and stretches across 55 kilometers (40 miles) of the Israeli-Gazan border…The underground barrier will likely reach completion in March.
