“Bernie Sanders has thus far evaded scrutiny over the values he and his campaign share with the Labour Party’s discredited leader”

Bernie Sanders Has a Big Jeremy Corbyn Problem
by Noah Rothman
December 13, 2019

Nobody forced Bernie Sanders’s campaign to endorse Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party. By the time the Sanders camp’s national organizing director, Clair Sandberg, announced that the Vermont senator’s team stood in solidarity with the far-left British candidate, it was already apparent that Corbyn’s party was likely to lose and lose badly. And that’s precisely what happened. On Thursday, British voters delivered Labour its worst defeat in 85 years…Corbyn rendered his party toxic. His penchant for standing in solidarity with terrorists and anti-Semites opened a seal out of which a cascade of anti-Jewish sentiments poured, engulfing his party in scandal. READ MORE

#SafeSpaces: “I’m certain that some conservatives, especially those who’ve been taught by their own thought-minders on the right to recoil in fear from threatening ideas, would be shocked to see Obama or the pundit Van Jones in this film”

CHICAGO TRIBUNE
Is this still a free country? The new movie ‘No Safe Spaces’ raises frightening doubts
by John Kass
December 5, 2019

No matter what side you take on Trump Impeachment Theater, or just about any other topic for that matter — from the politics of chicken sandwiches to climate change — if you dare challenge the views of the reigning political priests, chances are you’ll be called stupid and hateful. And someone will want to shut you up….Yet lest you think “No Safe Spaces” is some conservative screed, know that it highlights prominent liberals, including former President Barack Obama, who tells of how he’s been appalled at what is happening to free speech at universities. Temple Mount prayers “conducted in a very discreet manner, but the worshipers were nevertheless clearly participating in a discernible Jewish prayer service”

JERUSALEM POST
Jewish prayer has returned to the Temple Mount
by Jeremy Sharon
December 12, 2019

Jewish worshipers are able to pray on the Temple Mount with what appears to be the tacit consent of police forces at the site, The Jerusalem Post observed during a visit there on Thursday. Despite the insistence by Israel Police that there has been no change in the decades-old policy, Jews now pray – in full view of the police – in an unobtrusive and inconspicuous manner. A senior Wakf Department official said he was unaware of any change in the status quo on the Temple Mount, but warned that any change would lead to renewed protests and spark a strong response from Arabs and Muslims. British Jews “overcome by the sense of deliverance from a great evil, some even wept”

JNS
British working class saves Britain … and its Jews
by Melanie Phillips
December 13, 2019

The relief was overwhelming. When the exit polls on Thursday evening correctly predicted a large majority for Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party, British Jews allowed themselves to breathe again. Overcome by the sense of deliverance from a great evil, some even wept. Immediately before the election, both Labour and Conservative Party hierarchies had been seized by the belief that Britain was heading for a hung parliament and a coalition led by Labour’s hard-left leader Jeremy Corbyn. And because of that, many British Jews were gripped by a deep sense of dread and panic. In the end, Labour was pulverized, and the Conservatives won by a majority of nearly 80 MPs—the biggest win since Margaret Thatcher’s third victory in 1987. READ MORE

DAILY WIRE Ocasio-Cortez Meddles In Foreign Election, Endorses Notorious Anti-Semite

TIMES OF ISRAEL Anti-Semitism and Brexit shatter Corbyn’s dreams of global far-left revolution Jeremy Corbyn had hoped to become the vanguard of a global socialist movement but will step down in humiliation after overseeing his party’s worst election defeat since 1935. To his supporters, the 70-year-old offered a chance to deliver a radical leftist agenda, shaking up the economy and reversing a decade of Conservative public spending cuts. His vision attracted droves of young supporters, celebrity backing and the endorsement of other figures of the global socialist movement, with high-profile US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sending a supportive tweet on polling day.

PJ MEDIA Ex-London Mayor ‘Red Ken’ Livingstone Blames Labour’s Loss on the ‘Jewish Vote’ The former mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, said that Boris Johnson’s stunning victory at the polls on Thursday will be “the end” of Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and blamed the left’s loss on an “unhelpful Jewish vote.”

THE FEDERALIST Fusion GPS Tries To Run Russian Collusion Hoax Redux Against Boris Johnson The founders of Fusion GPS, the Democrat-backed consulting firm behind the famously discredited Christopher Steele dossier at the heart of the Russia hoax, are blaming Russia for the liberal Labour Party’s loss in the U.K. elections Thursday. Seriously.

Rabbi Niederman had a message for the non-Haredi Jews who form the vast majority of New York’s incredibly diverse Jewish community. “Don’t think that because you don’t have a kippa and you don’t dress like the Hasidim that you are safe”

Jewish Blood on the Streets of Jersey City
by Armin Rosen

…Still, some of the locals who gathered around the crime scene on Wednesday had a slightly different view of things. “This neighborhood is not that great,” said Ali, a truck driver in his 60s. “There’s a lot of poverty. A lot of drugs here. The cops see people carrying guns, and sometimes they don’t want to arrest them.” “The problem,” he continued, as we stood directly across the street from the grocery store’s blown-out facade, “is that the Jews are buying everybody out. This, I think, is revenge. It’s not a drug thing. They came for the Jews. All this property belongs to the Jews … they say it’s a hate crime, but later on you will know what’s going on.”  READ MORE

“If you are against federal action to stop anti-Semitic discrimination on college campuses just because Trump is doing it, then you’re the one with the problem”

NEW YORK TIMES
President Trump Is Defending Jewish Students
by Jared Kushner
Dec. 11, 2019

On Wednesday, the president will sign an executive order to combat the rise of anti-Semitism on American college campuses. As a grandchild of Holocaust survivors, I understand the horrors of anti-Semitism. I could not be more proud of President Trump’s new policy. According to the Anti-Defamation League, anti-Semitic incidents have been rising in the United States since 2013. Students, in particular, continue to face anti-Semitic harassment in schools and on college campuses. READ MORE

JNS Trump’s anti-Semitism order is a Rorschach test for Jews Demographers have spent a great deal of time in recent decades trying to learn more about the changing demographics of American Jewry. But whatever else he has accomplished, President Donald Trump has, albeit unwittingly, gone above and beyond those efforts. In signing an executive order extending protections to Jewish students against anti-Semitic hate on college campuses due to vicious incitement and discriminatory actions promoted by the BDS movement, Trump has, in effect, provided us with a sanity test for Jews.

One of Germany’s richest families, which owns Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Pret A Manger and other international brands, is giving millions to support Holocaust survivors as it seeks to atone for its use of forced laborers during the Nazi era and its enthusiastic support of Adolf Hitler, The Associated Press has learned. In addition to 5 million euros ($5.5 million) being given to the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany to help thousands of elderly survivors around the world, the Reimann family’s JAB Investors company plans to announce Thursday that it will provide another 5 million euros to find and support forced laborers used by its predecessor under the Nazis. Corrupt and mismanaged UNRWA–the only UN agency that exists solely to manage one group of “refugees”–has been renewed

December 13, 2019

The United Nations General Assembly on Friday overwhelmingly renewed the mandate for a U.N. agency supporting Palestinian refugees for another three years amid misconduct allegations and a cash shortfall triggered by a halt in U.S. funding. The mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) was extended until June 30, 2023, with 169 votes in favor and nine abstentions, while the United States and Israel voted against. UNRWA, which as established in 1949, provides education, health and relief services as well as housing and microfinance assistance to more than 5 million registered refugees in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, as well as in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. “In 2019, two in every three religious or racially motivated assaults in the New York City area were on Jews”

SPECTATOR USA
Trump’s ‘Jew shenanigans’
by Domenic Green
December 12, 2019

…In Europe, the majority of assaults upon Jewish people or schools or synagogues seem to be committed by Muslim immigrants. In the United States, and in the New York area in particular, the majority of the assaults against Jews seem to be committed by African Americans against their ultra-Orthodox neighbors. The number and range of these assaults has risen sharply over the last year: beatings by gangs, a man with a gun smashing synagogue windows, rocks thrown at a school bus…These figures correlate to three awkward facts. Ultra-Orthodox Jews are nothing if not distinctive. They are frequently poor, so they cannot deal with racial tension in the American way and retreat to the suburbs. READ MORE

The Illinois financial crisis: “Outside of unfunded state employee pension obligations, no other challenge facing legislators poses a greater threat to the state’s long-term prosperity”

CRAINS
The other financial storm threatening to capsize Illinois’ economy
by Joe Cahill
December 10, 2019

We’ll soon find out if Illinois lawmakers are serious about easing the state’s unsustainable property tax burden. As you may know, Illinois has the second-highest property tax rate in the nation, trailing New Jersey by just five one-hundredths of a percentage point. The pain has become so acute for homeowners and landlords across Illinois that Gov. J.B. Pritzker appointed a task force this year to study the causes and recommend solutions. The task force report is due Dec. 31, setting up possible legislative action on the issue when state lawmakers reconvene next month. READ MORE
