“The decision to “halt work” on all agreements with Israel was announced on Thursday night by PA President Mahmoud Abbas during an emergency meeting of the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah”

Palestinians skeptical about Abbas’s move to ‘halt’ agreements with Israel
by Khaled Abu Toameh
July 28, 2019

A committee entrusted with carrying out the Palestinian leadership’s decision to end all agreements with Israel is expected to meet in the coming hours, PLO Executive Committee member Ahmed Majdalani said on Saturday. However, Palestinians expressed skepticism that the Palestinian Authority would proceed with its intention to suspend signed agreements with Israel. The committee itself has not yet even been formed. ELDER OF ZIYON Palestinian prime minister lies to @HRW’s Ken Roth about freedom of expression. He believes it. On Saturday, Director of Human Rights Watch Ken Roth met with Palestinian prime minister Mohammed Shtayyeh. While smiling, Shtayyeh informed Roth that the Palestinian Authority will no longer arrest people for political speech. Roth appreciated the “pledge.” For some reason, Roth – a supposed defender of human rights – didn’t seem to ask for the Palestinian leaders to drop the laws on their books that allow them to arrest anyone for anything they write online that might be considered offensive to the government.

Bernie Sanders: US’s Mideast policy cannot just be ‘pro-Israel pro-Israel pro-Israel’”; AOC: Netanyahu is like Trump

Sanders says he would ‘absolutely’ consider cutting US military aid
by Staff
July 28, 2019

Vermont Senator and leading 2020 Democratic US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders would “absolutely” weigh withholding US military aid to Israel to pressure the Jewish state into making policy changes. Speaking with Jon Favreau on his Pod Save America podcast, Sanders, according to most polls the second-place Democratic candidate, agreed that the $3.8 billion US military aid package could be used as “leverage” against the Jewish state. “Our policy cannot just be pro-Israel, pro-Israel, pro-Israel,” Sanders said. “It has got to be pro-region, working with all of the people, all of the countries in that area.” READ MORE

ARUTZ SHEVA Rabbinical group slams Senators for supporting Al Sharpton “In their haste to condemn the President,” said Rabbi Yaakov Menken, Managing Director of the CJV, “two Senators [Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren], both of whom are candidates for the President’s job, described a man who instigated Antisemitic marches and even murder as spending ‘his life’ fighting for ‘justice’ and ‘to improve our nation.’ It is hard to imagine a person with any sensitivity towards the Jewish community making such a statement.”

JTA AOC has a lot to say about Israel, anti-Semitism, the Holocaust and Bernie Sanders
Ocasio-Cortez is critical of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposes Israel’s occupation of the West Bank — but framed it as a criticism of Israeli policy, not of Israel’s existence. She said that doesn’t mean she’s anti-Israel or anti-Semitic. She gave a shoutout to the leftist Jewish group IfNotNow, which opposes the occupation and is controversial in many parts of the Jewish community for not taking a stance — for or against — Zionism, the Israel boycott or the “question of statehood.”

Switzerland and Netherlands freeze UNRWA contributions in wake of scandal

Netherlands Becomes Second Country to Suspend UNRWA Funding Over Corruption Allegations Against Palestinian Refugee Agency
by Staff
July 31, 2019

The allegations of systematic corruption at the highest levels of UNRWA — the United Nations body dedicated solely to Palestinian refugees and their descendants — proved too much for a second donor nation on Wednesday, as the The Netherlands announced that it was freezing its contributions to the agency…The Dutch decision came hours after Switzerland announced that it was freezing its contributions to UNRWA, based on its concerns about the report into the agency’s operations assembled by the UN’s Office of Internal Oversight Services. The 10-page document cited “credible and corroborated reports” that members of an “inner circle” at UNRWA had engaged in “abuses of authority for personal gain, to suppress legitimate dissent and to otherwise achieve their personal objectives.” READ MORE

Antisemite E. Michael Jones: “Three rich Jews determine American foreign policy”

TIMES OF ISRAEL
E. Michael Jones’s War on The Jews
by Dexter Van Zile
July 30, 2019

If Jews or Christians still harbor any doubts that American civil society has entered an era where public expressions of Jew-hatred are not the career-enders they used to be, they need look no further than at the success of professional antisemite E. Michael Jones. Jones, a failed academic who resides in South Bend, Indiana, has been able to earn his living by promoting and normalizing a hateful narrative about evil Jews running the world. He offers this narrative to a small but growing fan base of disaffected Catholics and white nationalists. READ MORE

“Despite Pelosi’s best efforts, the House voted on a resolution to oppose the boycott Israel movement — and its bipartisan support was overwhelming”

With New House Resolutions, Democrats Finally Allow Their Israel Divide Into The Open
by Melissa Langsam Braunstein
July 26, 2019

That nearly all Democrats signed onto a resolution opposing the boycott-Israel movement and unequivocally reaffirmed that “Israel is a key ally and strategic partner of the United States” is undeniably good, “especially in the context of rising anti-Semitism.” …However, before anyone declares game over, it’s important to note three issues: 1) This was a purely symbolic vote, 2) Democratic support would likely drop if this vote were more than symbolic, and 3) there’s a small but growing number of legislators willing to publicly support boycotting. First, symbolism is important, but it obviously doesn’t have the same real-world consequences as laws. READ MORE

Notorious Antisemite Louis Farrakhan Falsely Claims Talmud Permits Sex Crimes
by Benjamin Kerstein

Nation of Islam leader and notorious antisemite Louis Farrakhan has blamed “Talmudic, satanic Jews” for the sex scandals surrounding Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein, claiming the Talmud makes such conduct “lawful to them.” In a video posted to Twitter by the Team Farrakhan fan account, Farrakhan can be seen speaking at the Nation of Islam’s headquarters on July 21. “Did you know that pedophilia, homosexuality, sex trafficking, is the work of Talmudists?” he asks. …Al Jazeera is owned by the government of Qatar, which is spending hundreds of millions of dollars on lobbyists, think-tanks and U.S. universities to influence American public opinion and policy so it can get away with aiding and supporting Al-Qaeda, the Iranian regime, Hamas and the Muslim BrotherhoodThe relationship between Northwestern University and Al Jazeera began in 2008 when the Qatar Foundation, a “charity” linked to terrorism and controlled by the Qatari regime, funded the establishment of a campus in Qatar for Northwestern University (NU-Q). Netflix’s “The Red Sea Diving Resort” tells story of Mossad agents who in 1984 established a fake resort up the coast from Port Sudan in bid to rescue Ethiopian Jews

Film on rescue of Ethiopian Jews to debut in San Francisco Jewish Film Festival
by Staff
July 26, 2019

A new Netflix film that explores the heroic rescue of Ethiopian Jews in the mid-1980s will make its world premiere at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival next week, ahead of its screening by the American streaming giant. “The Red Sea Diving Resort” is the incredible story of an operation by Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, a group of international agents and brave Ethiopians, who in the 1980s used a deserted holiday retreat in Sudan as a front to smuggle thousands of refugees to Israel. The movie was written and directed by “Homeland” executive producer Gideon Raff, based on the book “Mossad Exodus” by former intelligence officer Gad Shimron. READ MORE

The tour Israel should arrange for Tlaib and Omar
by Lori Lowenthal Marcus and Jerome M. Marcus
July 26, 2019

…But just because Israel has let them in doesn’t mean its leaders have to sit passively by while Tlaib and Omar use the country as a backdrop for their personally designed advertisements for Hamas and Hezbollah; their accusations of apartheid, genocide and all other things repugnant; and their program to eliminate Jewish self-determination. On the contrary: As any fair-minded person knows, none of the things these women claim to believe about Israel is actually correct. So Israel has this one potent weapon on its side: the truth. FEDERALIST Roger Simon: Here’s Where Ilhan Omar And Rashida Tlaib Should Go When They Visit Israel It’s been all over the news that “Squad” stalwarts Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tliab are planning a trip to Israel. Whether this will be at U.S. taxpayers’ expense is unclear. The two women have shown their affinity for anti-Semitism, so it’s a virtual certainty their visit will be a staged opportunity to accuse Israel of being Nazi Germany and apartheid South Africa rolled into one, or possibly something even more monstrous if they can figure out what that is. Doubtless, an international press crew will traipse after them to record their every calumny.

“Ben Rhodes portrays the demolitions as examples of ethnic cleansing, writing that the Jewish state destroys Palestinian homes precisely because Palestinians live in them. The truth completely contradicts his claims”

FREE BEACON
Progressives Discard the Truth to Demonize Israel
by Aaron Kliegman
July 25, 2019

It should not be surprising, then, to see [Ben] Rhodes lie and mislead to demonize Israel. He did just that earlier this week, retweeting a story on Israeli crews demolishing Palestinian homes in east Jerusalem with the added message: “Imagine having your home destroyed just because of who you are, and that being the point.” Naturally, [Ilhan] Omar and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) both endorsed Rhodes’s tweet. To say that Rhodes mischaracterized the situation would be a radical understatement. It is possible that Rhodes is remarkably ignorant about Israeli affairs and did not read the article, but he is an intelligent man who presumably follows international news closely. READ MORE
