Famed architect Philip Johnson was “the kind of Hitler fan who had read Mein Kampf in the original German”

Philip Johnson Was Very Nazi
by Armin Rosen
December 5, 2018

Just how much of a Nazi was the most important American architect of the 20th century? Per Mark Lamster’s new The Man in the Glass House: Philip Johnson, Architect of the Modern Century, the answer is nothing short of astonishing, albeit only in the negative sense of the word. Lamster, the architectural critic for the Dallas Morning News, exhumes every atrocious detail of Johnson’s seven-plus years as a professional fascist. The book is worth reading for anyone interested in architecture, or for that matter in the eternally fraught relationship between aesthetics and morality. Pushing for an Israeli Victory Is the Only Way to End the Conflict with the Palestinians
by Daniel Pipes
December 2, 2018

From a practical political point of view, Avigdor Lieberman, Naftali Bennett, and their idea to take a tougher stand toward Hamas just went down to defeat, if not humiliation. That’s because Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once again showed his political skills; the first is now ex-defense minister, the second failed to become defense minister. From a longer-term point of view, however, the duo raised an issue that for decades had not been part of the Israeli political discourse but, due to their efforts, promises to be an important factor in the future: that would be the concept of victory, of an Israeli victory over Hamas and, by extension, over the Palestinian Authority and Palestinians in general. Hezbollah planned to use a cross-border tunnel uncovered by the IDF this week to cut off the northern town of Metula during a future war, the Hebrew news site Mako reported on Wednesday, citing Israeli military officials. The IDF announced the launch of “Operation Northern Shield” on Tuesday, saying its goal was to “expose and neutralize cross-border attack tunnels dug by Hezbollah” under the Israel-Lebanon border. The Trump administration has voiced its support for Israel’s actions. According to the Mako report, IDF officials believe they have a firm handle on the scope of the Hezbollah tunnel project. TIMES OF ISRAEL Netanyahu: Hezbollah tunnels part of plan to capture ‘parts of Galilee Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday evening that Israeli efforts to destroy cross-border tunnels build by Hezbollah were “not an isolated operation, but a wide and ongoing operation” aimed at targeting a broader push by the Iran-backed terror group to capture parts of the Galilee from Israel. “The aim of Hezbollah has been to dig tunnels into our territory. It is part of an effort with a breadth and depth that we have not seen before…”

Angry That Airbnb Is Boycotting The Settlements? So Is Birthright
by Yishai Fleisher
December 3, 2018

…For all our righteous indignation at how Airbnb is treating Jewish homeowners in Judea and Samaria, Jewish organizations have been de-listing and de-platforming the “settlements” for decades. It is well known that Birthright does not take their participants over the Green Line. And of the millions of dollars raised by the Jewish Federation of North America, scant few get to Judea and Samaria. Despite a 2016 decision to stop the half-century ban on visits and support to Jews of Judea and Samaria, only a trickle of funds are applied there, and some branches disallow it completely. Exposing German funding for Israel’s enemies
by Petr Byson
December 4, 2018

Now we have begun to look at the influence foreign NGOs such as the Open Society Foundation have on media and politics in Germany, and German funding for anti-Israel NGOs. NGO Monitor has pointed out “large and extensive Open Society Foundation grants to Palestinian organizations such as Al-Haq, Al-Mezan, and Palestinian Center for Human Rights, as well as Israeli political NGOs, including Yesh Din, Breaking the Silence, and Adalah. These groups (…) portray Israel as a ‘racist’ and ‘apartheid state’ that commits ‘war crimes.’” (“Bad Investment”, NGO Monitor). READ MORE

The Palestinian Authority on Saturday accused US presidential envoy Jason Greenblatt of promoting the ideas and positions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The PA denounced Greenblatt as an “arrogant colonist” and an “ally of settlements.” The PA’s renewed attack on Greenblatt came in response to an article he published in the Palestinian daily Al-Quds.  The PA leadership has been boycotting Greenblatt and other US administration officials since December 2017, when President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
