StandWithUs Conference Engages Students in Fight Against Anti-Semitism
by Daryl Deino
January 25, 2018

This past weekend, more than 500 activists from across the globe, including 350 high school and college students, gathered in Los Angeles for a conference on anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias, put on by the Israel education group StandWithUs. The 3-day event provided students with the opportunity to share their love for Israel and freely discuss the anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias they’ve experienced in academia. This year’s conference was more about coming up with solutions than airing grievances. Committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, the conference included Jews, Christians, Muslims, Atheists, and LGBT community members. READ MORE

President Trump Reveals the Hollowness of The “Two-State” Delusion
by Bruce Abramson and Jeff Ballabon
January 24, 2018

It began in the early 1990s, when elements of the Israeli far left and the PLO—in clear violation of Israeli law—hatched a “peace” plan: The Arabs would concede the legitimacy of Jewish self-determination in the historic Jewish homeland. In return, Israel would accept the lie of a distinct “Palestinian” people, partition the homeland (yet again), and create a quasi-governmental Palestinian Authority. Israeli PM Yitzchak Rabin agreed—with the caveats that Israel would never concede any part of Jerusalem, and would never accept a new Arab state. Pocketing these enormous concessions, the PLO dug in. Partisan Divide over Israel
by Ben Shapiro
January 24, 2018

Pew Research Center reported on Jan. 23 the disturbing results of a poll on Israel. According to the poll, 46 percent of Americans support Israel over the Palestinians; just 16 percent support the Palestinians over the Israelis. Those results have been relatively consistent for years. The disturbing part arises in the context of party identification. While 79 percent of Republicans say they sympathize with Israel, as do 42 percent of independents, just 27 percent of Democrats say they identify with Israel. Since 2001, Republican support for Israel has skyrocketed from 50 percent to 79 percent; in that same period, support from Democrats has declined from 38 percent to 27 percent. Why the increasing divide? READ MORE

What I Learned in the Peace Corps in Africa: Trump Is Right
by Karin McQuillan
January 17, 2018

Three weeks after college, I flew to Senegal, West Africa, to run a community center in a rural town.  Life was placid, with no danger, except to your health.  That danger was considerable, because it was, in the words of the Peace Corps doctor, “a fecalized environment.” In plain English: s— is everywhere.  People defecate on the open ground, and the feces is blown with the dust – onto you, your clothes, your food, the water.  He warned us the first day of training: do not even touch water.  Human feces carries parasites that bore through your skin and cause organ failure. Why the Academic Left Fears and Loathes Dr. Jordan Peterson
by John Dale Dunn
January 26, 2018

After I wrote to others about my discovery of Peterson, I was directed by one reader to a recent Peterson media splash, a YouTube interview cum debate by a feminist firebrand interviewer Cathy Newman at Britain’s Channel 4 [see YouTube link below].  Ms. Newman, a veteran U.K. TV personality, engaged Dr. Peterson on her claim that unequal female pay and power in business and other organizations are an example of gender persecution and oppression by patriarchal Western societies.  Ms. Newman came, all armed up, shouting her flinty-edged argument that gender job inequalities are due to bias and abuse by men.  Then came a well deserved Peterson social sciences buzzsaw refutation of her arguments, delivered with a smile to the visibly frustrated and increasingly desperate Newman, who seemed relieved when the 30 minute “interview” ended. New Pew Poll Reveals Republican Embrace, Democratic Ambivalence, in American Public’s Support of Israel
by Ben Cohen
January 23, 2018

Support for Israel among US Republicans is at its highest level in four decades, while Democrats are becoming more indifferent toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with sympathies for both sides showing a notable decline, a new Pew Research Center poll released on Tuesday revealed. Overall, US public opinion remains well-disposed toward Israel, with nearly half of the 1,503 Americans questioned saying they sympathized with Israel over the Palestinians — reflecting a consistent pro-Israel trend dating back to 1978, the poll observed. L’Oreal’s New Hijab Model Is Virulently Anti-Israel
by Amber Athey
January 18, 2018

The face of L’Oreal’s new hijab-friendly hair campaign is virulently anti-Israel. Amena Khan, a blogger and model, was chosen by L’Oreal UK to model for the beauty company’s newest hair product campaign. The campaign features women in hijabs and argues that their products are still useful for people who do not show their hair in public…However, a search of Khan’s Twitter account raises questions about the appropriateness of making her the face of the new campaign. Khan frequently espouses anti-Israel views, calling it a “terrorist” and “illegal” state. READ MORE

Trump in the Middle East: Note Who Curses America, and Who Blesses It
by Yoram Hazony
January 23, 2018

President Donald Trump has promised that in the Middle East under his presidency, “there are many things that can happen now that would never have happened before.” Two speeches of the last ten days offer dramatic confirmation of the emerging reconfiguration of America’s relationship with Israel and the Middle East under his leadership…But his bottom line also marked a significant shift from previous American administrations:  The U.S., Pence said, would support a PLO state “if both sides agree.” In other words,  whether there will be such a state is Israel’s call to make. Which puts American policy light years away from the heyday of George W. Bush’s “road map,” and his breathy “vision of two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace.” READ MORE

Beyond the Money: A Modest Proposal to Remake UNRWA
by Johanna Markind
January 24, 2018

Rather than helping to resolve the Palestinian refugee issue peacefully, the UN Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) actually works to prolong it and promote violence. On January 16, President Trump announced that the US would donate only $60 million out of an expected $125 million to UNRWA, and has been threatening to end support for it. While reducing funding to UNRWA, these cutbacks do not go far enough in reforming the organization that has done so much to prolong the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. READ MORE
