“Increasingly, families who are serious about education are leaving the Edina MN schools”

Inside a Public School Social Justice Factory
by Katherine Kersten
February 1, 2018

For decades, the public schools of Edina, Minnesota, were the gold standard among the state’s school districts. Edina is an upscale suburb of Minneapolis, but virtually overnight, its reputation has changed. Academic rigor is unraveling, high school reading and math test scores are sliding, and students increasingly fear bullying and persecution. The shift began in 2013, when Edina school leaders adopted the “All for All” strategic plan—a sweeping initiative that reordered the district’s mission from academic excellence for all students to “racial equity.READ MORE

#AngryLeft: “What on earth is Jonathan Sacks, the erudite, polite, shy Englishman doing getting involved with the homophobic, extreme Christian” VP Mike Pence?

Trump Derangement Syndrome as Leftists Target Britain’s Former Chief Rabbi, Jonathan Sacks
by Caroline Glick
January 30, 2018

…In the weeks before he came to Israel, Pence told his associates that he was determined to give the most pro-Israel speech ever delivered by a non-Jewish leader at the Knesset. So as he prepared his speech, like Blair and Browne, Cameron and Major, he turned to Rabbi Sacks for guidance. Rabbi Sacks met with the Vice President in New York for ninety minutes. He helped Pence to develop the themes he wished to discuss in his address. In the weeks that followed their meeting, Pence’s office sent early drafts of his address to Sacks for his comments…The leftist Jewish media flew into a rage when Sacks’ role in drafting Pence’s speech was reported. Haaretz runs boycott Israel ad
by Jack Saltzberg
January 30, 2018

If anyone was ever confused as to where Haaretz sits on the political spectrum, that debate is over…As of January 30, 2018, people who visited Haaretz.com saw a pop-up ad that took over the entire screen. The ten-second ad is sponsored by the regular scourge-fest of anti-Israel organizations: Jewish Voice for Peace, American Muslims for Palestine, US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, National Students for Justice in Palestine, American Friends Service Committee, and CODEPINK.   Those who click the ad are transported to none other than the Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) website, an organization that the Anti-Defamation League calls “the largest and most influential Jewish anti-Zionist group in the United States.”  READ MORE

8 ways augmented and virtual reality are changing medicine
by Abigail Klein Leichman
January 30, 2018

Spine and heart surgeons will use augmented reality (AR) to simplify complex procedures. Autistic children will get relief from sensory overload with a calming virtual reality (VR) system. These and other scenarios are made possible by Israeli innovations tapping into the tremendous potential of AR and VR for healing and wellbeing. The methods are similar: AR superimposes static and moving images to enhance an actual environment, while VR immerses the viewer in a simulated three-dimensional environment…Augmedics develops xvision, an AR head-mounted display for spine surgery that allows surgeons to see the patient’s anatomy through skin and tissue, as if they had “x-ray vision.” READ MORE

by Staff
January 26, 2018

The head of the Saudi-based Muslim World League, Dr. Mohammad Alissa, on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day expressed “great sympathy with the victims of the Holocaust, an incident that shook humanity to the core, and created an event whose horrors could not be denied or underrated by any fair-minded or peace-loving person.” Dr Alissa is the Secretary General, Muslim World League, and the President of the International Organization of Muslim Scholars…Dr Alissa said that the Muslim World League considers “any denial of the Holocaust or minimizing of its effect a crime to distort history and an insult to the dignity of those innocent souls who have perished. Dershowitz to Obama: Don’t associate with bigots, anti-Semites
by David Rosenberg
January 28, 2018

Former Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz slammed former President Barack Obama over the weekend, following the revelation that the then-US Senator had met with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan on Capitol Hill more than a decade ago. Last week, a photograph taken during a 2005 meeting between Farrakhan and Obama, then a freshly-minted US Senator from Illinois, was revealed to the public for the first time.“He is a horrible, horrible human being, and if I had known that the president had posed, smilingly, with him when [Obama] was a senator, I would not have campaigned for Barack Obama [in 2008]. It would have influenced my decision.” READ MORE

Maher Defends Jerusalem Decision: When You Win Wars You Take Land, Palestine A “Coiled Snake”
by Ian Schwartz
January 27, 2018

On the Friday edition of his show Real Time, HBO host Bill Maher defended President Trump’s decision to acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, giving legitimacy to the country’s claim to the city. Maher said while he understands there will be repercussions, when you win wars you get land. “I hate to agree with Donald Trump, but it doesn’t happen often, but I do. I don’t know why Israel — it has been their capital since 1949, it is where their government is. They’ve won all the wars thrown against them. I don’t understand why they don’t get to have their capital where they want,” he said. READ MORE. CLICK HERE TO HEAR MAHER’S REMARKS

In President Abbas’s speech, he explains “why the conflict still rages after more than 100 years” [VIDEO]

THE HILL
Moving the Palestinian leadership from rejectionism to recognition
by Gregg Roman
January 25, 2018

Not once did Abbas mention the issues of land, borders, the settlements or the occupation. These are the issues that many in the West assume occupies the Palestinian leadership and are the prime motivators for the decades-long verbal and physical onslaught. However, it is clear that these issues were of little concern to Abbas. His sole target was Zionism, which he called “a colonialist enterprise.” In other words, Abbas, like Palestinian leaders before him, does not consider the lack of a Palestinian state to be the problem, but the reality and existence of a Jewish and democratic state. At this Holocaust museum, you can speak with holograms of survivors
by Ellen Braunstein
January 27, 2018

The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, located in this suburb about 15 miles north of Chicago, is the first to permanently showcase the New Dimensions in Testimony oral history project, which has created holographic images from extensive interviews of 15 Holocaust survivors shown on rotation. Seven of the survivors are from Chicago. The images are produced by the University of Southern California’s Institute for Creative Technologies, along with the USC Shoah Foundation — a nonprofit that famed director Steven Spielberg founded in 1994 to preserve Holocaust and other genocide survivor testimonies. The museum’s new $5 million center, entitled Take A Stand, opened in October. READ MORE

What Mike Pence Just Did in Jerusalem
by Aaron David Miller
January 23, 2018

…It turns out, too, that Pence benefited from the revised timing of the trip. His visit came just days after Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas, in an unhinged speech ripping Trump’s decision on Jerusalem, veered into rank anti-Semitism and denied the Jewish people’s historic connection to Israel. “This is a colonial enterprise that has nothing to do with Jewishness,” Abbas said. “The Jews were used as a tool under the concept of the promised land—call it whatever you want. Everything has been made up.” Those who have been arguing for years that Abbas is no partner for peace—Netanyahu above all—hardly could have scripted it better. READ MORE
