The New York Times: Enabler of Genocidal Anti-Semitism
by Kenneth Levin
May 31, 2019

…On the Holocaust and its prelude in Germany, the statement declares: “In the 1930s and 1940s The Times was largely silent as anti-Semitism rose up and bathed the world in blood. That failure still haunts this newspaper.” But it has obviously not haunted the paper enough to move it from its consistent refusal over many decades – despite its intense coverage of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict – to report on the incitement to mass murder of Jews that has long been a staple of Palestinian and broader Arab media, mosques and schools. It has failed to do so even as such incitement has in recent years become ever more widely established within the Muslim world. READ MORE

The Fascinating First-Person Tale Of The Kosher Iftar Of Hebron, Israel
by Yishai Fleisher
May 31, 2019

A few weeks ago, the leaders of the Jewish community of Hebron, Israel got an invitation to an Iftar celebration — the traditional Muslim nightly feast at the end of each day of the month-long Ramadan daytime fast — in the Jabari section of Arab-run Hebron. The location was not surprising to us since we have been working for years with the host, Sheikh Ashraf Jabari, a businessman, and a local clan chieftain…As we approached the Jabari house for the Iftar, we could tell that the atmosphere was going to be festive. Yet one thing was glaring: This event was super-secured — not by a team of Israeli sharpshooters, but by dozens of Jabari’s Arab private security guards. READ MORE

“Already a de-facto state, Gaza should be the anchor for a free, independent and sovereign Palestinian state, contiguous into the Sinai Peninsula, along the coastal plain, to El-Arish”

Israeli-Palestinian conflict can end with the New State Solution
by Benjamin Anthony, Amir Avivi and Nechemia Sokal
May 29, 2019

Israelis need a clearly defined strategy to end the conflict with the Palestinians, one that addresses the most urgent challenge: the Gaza Strip. Egypt, which shares a border with Gaza and, therefore, responsibility for its fate and its citizens, should play a central role in implementing this strategy. These are just some of the reasons that the authors, and other leading security and policy experts, call for implementing The New State Solution, a conflict-ending alternative to the status quo, which would invert the Strip from an intractable problem into a solution. Erdogan’s “sudden change of heart” regarding American hostages

Erdogan Releases Another U.S. Hostage Ahead of Trump Meeting
by Aykan Erdemir and Merve Tahiroglu
May 31, 2019

Turkey on Wednesday night released Serkan Golge, a Turkish-American dual citizen imprisoned on dubious terrorism charges, hours after a phone call between President Donald Trump and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The move comes as the Turkish president struggles to contain the country’s economic crisis ahead of a historic rerun of Istanbul’s mayoral election set for June 23. Golge, a NASA physicist, was one of the three U.S. citizens – in addition to three local employees of the U.S. mission in Turkey – held on frivolous charges of terrorism, coup plotting, and espionage in the wake of a failed coup attempt in 2016. Far-left California Democrats want to link Israeli gov’t to Pittsburgh massacre
by JTA
May 31, 2019

Far-left Democrats in California have put forth draft resolutions fiercely critical of Israel ahead of this weekend’s state party convention, including one suggesting that the Israeli government is partly responsible for the atmosphere inspiring last October’s massacre at a Pittsburgh synagogue…Other resolutions to be introduced at the San Francisco confab urge a rollback of President Donald Trump’s Israel policies, including recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights; condemn Israel for clashes with Palestinians in Gaza without mentioning provocations or attacks by the Hamas leadership there…READ MORE

Thank You, Gov. DeSantis
Editorial

…Florida’s cabinet recognized Jerusalem as “Israel’s eternal capital,” invested $10 million in Israel Bonds and blacklisted Airbnb because of its plan to boycott listings in West Bank settlements, which the global company has since reversed. This week, DeSantis repeatedly spoke out against the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, leading the first official trade mission to the West Bank led by a US governor – with two dozen business leaders. He is also leading the largest-ever official governor-led delegation to Israel. READ MORE

Chinese investment across the Holy Land threatens the U.S.-Israel relationship

What’s Beijing Doing in Haifa?
by William A. Galston
May 28, 2019

Below the radar screens of all but a few experts, a dispute is brewing with the potential to disrupt defense cooperation between the U.S. and Israel and embroil the Jewish state in America’s increasingly intense trade conflict with China. The story begins in 2015, when Israel’s Transportation Ministry accepted an offer from the Shanghai International Port Group to operate the port of Haifa for 25 years, starting in 2021, and invest $2 billion to expand the port into Israel’s largest harbor. Notably, this decision was taken without the formal involvement of either Israel’s security cabinet or its National Security Council. READ MORE SUBSCRIPTION CONTENT

Iran will keep violating nuclear accord until banking, oil rights restored

Iran Will Restart Contested Nuclear Work Unless Cash ‘Demands Are Met’
by Adam Kredo
May 29, 2019

Top Iranian leaders issued a series of warnings on Tuesday, telling world leaders it is on the brink of restarting a significant portion of its most contested nuclear work, including the enrichment of uranium to prohibited levels that could be used as part of a weapons program…Tehran’s demands have become increasingly clear since the Trump administration enacted a hardline policy meant to strangle the ruling regime and its economy. Iran is seeking compensation from Europe—particularly in the arenas hit hardest by U.S. sanctions—in exchange for its adherence to the nuclear pact’s prohibitions on uranium enrichment and other matters. ALGEMEINER Another Antisemitic Trope: Jews Pushing US to War With Iran Israel’s detractors and antisemites are once again hysterically claiming that the United States is heading for war with Iran. This is the same false flag operation they ran to help convince the world that if a nuclear agreement was not signed with Iran — regardless of its gaping loopholes and failure to address Iran’s destabilization efforts in the region and sponsorship of terror — war was inevitable.
