Obama appointee Zogby polls the Arab world, reports dramatic levels of support for US brokered peace plan

WASHINGTON EXAMINER
Surprise: Majority of Arabs back Trump Middle East peace plan, 79% of Saudis
by Paul Bedard
October 16, 2020

In a surprise that experts didn’t see coming, most Arabs in countries that would be affected by President Trump’s Middle East peace plan endorse the pathway to normalized relations with Israel. In the survey, a remarkable 7 in 10 people in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan said they also feel that normalization is coming despite what Palestinian leaders do to resist peace with the Jewish state. “Such findings would have seemed preposterous 5 or 10 years ago,” said a report on the findings in Middle East expert Joel Rosenberg’s All Arab News. The poll, done by James Zogby, founder of Zogby Research Services and president of the Arab American Institute, raised the prospect that Saudi Arabia…is warming to a deal. READ MORE

by Kim Willsher
October 17, 2020

A history teacher was decapitated outside his secondary school in a Paris suburb on Friday after he showed a caricature of the prophet Muhammad to his pupils has been named. Samuel Paty, 47, who taught history and geography at the school in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, north-west of the French capital, was attacked on Friday evening by an 18-year-old man who was shot dead by police shortly afterwards. The anti-terror prosecutor has opened an investigation into “assassination linked to a terrorist organisation and association with terrorist criminals”. Nine people were being questioned by police on Saturday, among them members of the attacker’s family, including his grandfather and 17-year-old brother. READ MORE

Christianity deeply rooted in Judaism, new Bible translation claims
by Sarah Chemla
October 15, 2020

A new translation of the Bible, called the Hebrew Heritage Bible Newer Testament by Dr. Brad H. Young – a Hebrew University-trained scholar who taught biblical literature for over thirty years at Oral Roberts University in the United States – is highlighting the Jewish roots of Christianity. “Rather than employing the standard translation technique of simply selecting the most appropriate English word for the Greek,” noted Young, “I asked the question, ‘What is the Hebrew thought and wording underpinning the Greek text?’” Using this method, his text reconstructs the Hebrew sources, language and mindset behind the early church and its foundational documents. “American liberalism is in danger from a new ideology—one with dangerous implications for Jews”

TABLET MAG
Stop Being Shocked
by Bari Weiss
October 14, 2020

…The liberal worldview was one that recognized that there were things—indeed, the most important things—in life that were located outside of the realm of politics: friendships, art, music, family, love. This was a world in which Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg could be close friends. Because, as Scalia once said, some things are more important than votes. Crucially, this liberalism relied on the view that the Enlightenment tools of reason and the scientific method might have been designed by dead white guys, but they belonged to everyone, and they were the best tools for human progress that have ever been devised.  READ MORE

“The #ShyTrumpVoter makes intuitive sense for anyone watching the cancel culture in America grow more menacing by the day. One of the communities where it likely plays a role is the American Jewish community”

American Jewry’s Most Fateful Hour
by Caroline Glick

Almost all the polls say that US President Donald Trump is heading towards defeat at the hands of his Democrat challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden next month. But Robert Cahaly, who heads the Trafalgar Group polling firm, disagrees. Cahaly was the only major pollster that accurately called the 2016 presidential race. In an interview with The Political Trade podcast last week, Cahaly said his data show Trump headed for another upset victory Nov. 3. Cahaly said that today, as in 2016, the disparity between his numbers and the marquis polling firms’ numbers owes to the latter’s systematic neglect of what he calls the “Shy Trump Voter Effect.READ MORE

WALL STREET JOURNAL An Ex-Liberal Reluctantly Supports Trump Mr. Siegel, a professor emeritus at New York’s Cooper Union and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, says he overcame his distaste for Mr. Trump for three reasons. First, foreign policy: “Crushing ISIS, pulling us out of the Iran nuclear deal, moving our embassy to Jerusalem, and making fools of those people who insist that the Palestinian issue is at the heart of the Arab-Israeli conflict.”…Mr. Siegel’s third purpose goes to the guts of his personal political philosophy. He sees the president as a champion of “bourgeois values”…

Pennsylvania’s “nightmare highlights the difficulty of ramping up vote-by-mail on the fly without enough voter education”

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
Pa. has rejected 372,000 ballot applications — most of them duplicates — bewildering voters and straining officials
by Jonathan Lai and Ryan McCarthy and Derek Willis, ProPublica
October 16, 2020

Pennsylvania has rejected 372,000 requests for mail ballots, straining election offices and bewildering voters in one of the most hotly contested battlegrounds in the presidential election. More than 90% of those applications, or about 336,000, were denied as duplicates, primarily because people who had requested mail ballots for the state’s June 2 primary did not realize they had checked a box to be sent ballots for the general election, too. Voters have also been baffled by unclear or inaccurate information on the state’s ballot-tracking website… READ MORE

Blue Checkmarks Are Hurling Insanely Racist Remarks At Gal Gadot Over Her Perfect Casting As Cleopatra
by Elle Reynolds
October 12, 2020

Gal Gadot is set to play Cleopatra in an upcoming movie about the Queen of the Nile. Patty Jenkins, who also directed Gadot in “Wonder Woman,” will direct the biopic. Gadot herself pitched the idea of a Cleopatra biopic. “Cleopatra is a story I wanted to tell for a very long time,” she tweeted, adding that she hopes “to tell her story for the first time through women’s eyes.” Cleopatra VII ruled Egypt from 51 B.C. to her death, a few years after she and her Roman lover Mark Antony were defeated in the Battle of Actium in 31 B.C. Jews betraying Jews
by Kenneth Levin
October 12, 2020

…The Democrat Party has also been essentially silent about growing hostility towards Jews being promoted in Democrat bastions in the wider society. The major American institutions abetting anti-Semitism are America’s colleges and universities, dominated by Democrats, and the party has made no effort to curb this disgrace. Jew-hatred is rapidly expanding from higher education into public and private schools, often aided by Democrat state and local governments, and this, too, proceeds unchecked by the party. In addition, of course, is the hostility to Israel coming from major elements of the party, including from elements of its congressional delegation. READ MORE

‘Israel is a cyber superpower, the potential is endless’
by Yoav Limor

Walking into the Tel Aviv office of Israel National Cyber Directorate Head Yigal Unna, you immediately notice a very specific memento – a weighted plaque with a golden plate that he was awarded by his counterparts in the United Arab Emirates. Unna was part of the historic delegation that traveled to Abu Dhabi last month after the landmark peace deal between Israel and the UAE was announced, and the plaque sheds light on the deep cyber and technological ties between the two countries…Unna, 49, is Israel’s cyber gatekeeper. His agency guards every entity in the public and private sectors – from critical state infrastructure and state-owned corporations to the home computer of the very last member of the public.
