“Lots of cowards like Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, or Harvey Weinstein did what all cruel bullies do”

NATIONAL REVIEW
Cruelty and Sexual Harassment
by Victor Davis Hanson
December 5, 2017

…One moment Richard Dreyfuss expressed furor when he learned that gay actor Kevin Spacey long ago had groped his own son under the table (while the three were working on a script). The next minute, Dreyfuss himself was accused of an earlier repulsive unwanted sex act or advance toward a female subordinate. New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush condemns the bad behavior of journalist Mark Halperin — and then finds himself accused of similar coerced sexual behavior. [Now former] Senator Al Franken’s often sanctimonious outrages over the Fox News harassers would soon apply just as easily to his own behavior…Note these latest scandals are different from the age-old stories of consensual adultery. They are mostly not consensual affairs in the workplace, supposedly initiated by grasping subordinates or by oppressive bosses in midlife crises. READ MORE

Dershowitz: Why Trump is right in recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital [VIDEOS]

JERUSALEM CENTER FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Ten Reasons for Recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel
By Amb. Alan Baker
December 5, 2017

1. Jerusalem has been the official capital of the State of Israel and the center of its government since 1950. Jerusalem is the seat of Israel’s President, Knesset, and Supreme Court, and the site of most government ministries and social and cultural institutions. Jerusalem is the ancient spiritual center of Judaism and is also considered a holy city by the members of other religious faiths. Israel protects the holy sites of all faiths

2. In 1967, Jordan rejected warnings from Israel and opened an aggressive war against Israel by bombarding Jerusalem. In response and in self-defense, Israel captured east Jerusalem, then controlled by Jordan.

3. As such, Israel’s status in eastern Jerusalem is entirely legitimate and lawful and accepted by the international community under the international law of armed conflict.

8. Neither UN/UNESCO resolutions, nor declarations by governments, leaders, and organizations can impose a solution to the issue of Jerusalem, nor can they dictate or prejudge the outcome of such negotiations. READ MORE

US Congress “has taken a crucial step towards ending the PA’s intentional misuse of foreign assistance to financially reward Palestinian terrorists and their families”

Palestinian Authority Faces Massive Cut in US Aid as Taylor Force Act Targeting Terror Payments Passes House Vote
by Ben Cohen
December 5, 2017

The Taylor Force Act passed the US House of Representatives by unanimous consent on Tuesday, confronting the Palestinian Authority with the prospect of a massive cut in US aid for as long as it maintains its policy of paying monthly salaries and other benefits to the families of slain or convicted Palestinian terrorists. Named in memory of Taylor Force — the former American army officer stabbed to death during a knifing spree by a Palestinian assailant in Tel Aviv in March 2016 — the legislation prevents the transfer of funds “that directly benefit the Palestinian Authority” for a six-year period beginning in 2018 unless the PA verifiably ends its so-called “martyr payments” policy. מה באמת קורה בעיר חברון | What’s really happening in Hebron [VIDEO]

Let’s get to the bottom of the real story of the city of Hebron. Is the Arab population of Hebron living in a trapped reality? The Arabs are allowed into 97% of Hebron. A Jew, on the other hand, is not allowed into almost every part of Hebron. Why? Because of Arab terror. So, in 2001, the Army decided to separate the Jewish and Arab populations in order to curb terror. Terror caused the separation. One day, the natural presence of Jews in Hebron will be more than a small area in less than 3% of this ancient Biblical city. Remember, before King David was the King of Jerusalem, King David was the King of Hebron.

Max Blumenthal could thus be described as “an award-winning antisemite” and has written a book “that reflects his admiration for the Palestinian terror group Hamas”

Salon Mainstreams the Vile Antisemitism of Max Blumenthal and Joseph Massad
by Petra Marquardt-Bigman
December 4, 2017

…Under the title, “The shocking alliance between Zionism and Anti-Semitism,” Max Blumenthal promises Salon readers an “in-depth discussion with renowned Palestinian scholar Prof. Joseph Massad.”…Just some two weeks before Al Jazeera first published [Joseph] Massad’s screed, The Algemeiner had published an article in which I documented that the material Massad relies on to make his case against Zionist Jews happens to be the same material that is used on neo-Nazi forums like Stormfront to make a very similar case…And then consider what Blumenthal adds: there was an “alliance” between the Nazis and the Zionist Jews that “deepened” while the Nazis were busy killing most of Europe’s Jews; and the Zionist Jews even managed to clinch a “lucrative” deal “with Hitler’s government that exchanged Jewish property for the bodies the Zionists needed to colonize Palestine.” READ MORE

“#AmericanStudiesAssociation boycotted the Jewish state. It wasn’t by popular demand”

WALL STREET JOURNAL
Anti-Israel Activists Subvert a Scholarly Group
by Jesse M. Fried and Eugene Kontorovich
December 3, 2017

Emails unearthed in a federal lawsuit appear to show that the American Studies Association’s decision to boycott Israel was orchestrated by a small cadre of academics who infiltrated the ASA’s leadership to demonize the Jewish state. The ASA website says the scholarly group “promotes the development and dissemination of interdisciplinary research on U.S. culture and history in a global context,” but in December 2013 it endorsed an academic boycott of Israel. The ASA’s leadership, called the National Council, backed the boycott resolution and put it to a membership vote. A third of the members voted, and two-thirds of those endorsed the resolution. “The Jew of Malta” is to be shown at the Center for Jewish History. Would an African-American group show a racist film at one of their centers?”

ARUTZ SHEVA
Why is a Jewish group showing an anti-Semitic play?
by Morton A. Klein
December 3, 2017

The ZOA has just learned that one of the most anti-Semitic plays of all time, Christopher Marlowe’s “The Jew of Malta” (written in 1565) is scheduled to be performed [December 3] at the Center for Jewish History (CJH) headed by controversial Israel-basher David Myers. Why is a Jewish group showing this anti-Jewish play? Would any African American group ever show the notorious racist film “The Birth of a Nation”?…The play’s protagonist, the Jewish merchant Barabas, is a money-obsessed, vulgar, traitorous mass murderer.  The play increased anti-Semitism in England, and contributed to the anti-Semitic atmosphere that led to the torture, conviction and execution of the Queen of England’s Portuguese Jewish physician, Rodrigo Lopez, in 1594, on likely false charges of conspiring to poison the Queen. “Israeli expectations for normal inter-state and people-to-people interactions with Egypt were not realized”

MIDDLE EAST FORUM
The Future of Israel’s Peace Treaty with Egypt
by Efraim Inbar
November 27, 2017

…Unfortunately, Israeli expectations for normal inter-state and people-to-people interactions were not realized. The rooted cultural and religious barriers to having good relations with the Jewish state have been too difficult to overcome. In the Arab world, Israel is mostly seen as an alien body. For Egypt, this has not changed after 40 years of formal peace. In the absence of drastic change in the Arab educational systems, these perceptions of Jews and their state will continue. Hopes for peaceful relations with Arab countries – such as between the US and Canada – are fanciful dreams. READ MORE

“It’s not retired snowbirds who are driving the flight from Illinois. Analysis of IRS data shows how millennials are in fact leading the Illinois exodus”

ILLIOIS POLICY
New IRS data: Illinois sees record loss of people, income to other states
by Austin Berg
December 1, 2017

The Land of Lincoln is experiencing heavy losses of people and income to other states, new IRS data reveal. Illinois lost more than 86,000 people and $4.75 billion in adjusted gross income to other states from 2015-2016. Illinois’ problem with wealth flight isn’t just persisting, it’s getting worse. That’s the takeaway from new data released by the Internal Revenue Service on Nov. 30. In terms of both people and income, the Land of Lincoln saw a record-breaking exodus in the 2015 tax year (2015-2016). Illinois saw a net loss of nearly 42,000 tax returns to other states on the year, representing a net loss of more than 86,100 people (measured in exemptions), according to the IRS. That’s an all-time high. READ MORE
